Hello from the LIRR! I'm traveling to see Liz after a LONG week so there will definitely be tequila shots when I arrive. So much is happening. School started and my kids are PRECIOUS. I can't wait to get to know them better as the year progresses. I also got into a choir in the city called the Young New Yorkers Chorus. We will be performing Beethoven's 9 at Carnegie Hall in November; for me that's the second November Beethoven's 9 at Carnegie in a row! It's strange how things can all come together so nicely in such a small amount of time. Which reminds me... At the school I attended, this time of year is the worst, and also the best. It's exciting because some begin the choral experience of a lifetime, and others get the other end of the stick and feel horribly disappointed. I was the disappointed one throughout most of college. It wasn't until my senior year that I gave up worrying about what certain people thought I was or wasn't capable of, and in that moment I was capable of anything. I hope others can try to think more about what they think they are capable of, and strive towards that, rather than worrying about getting called back for a choir that would be a great experience, but isn't everything in the world. There are many other opportunities for growth in this world, we just need to go out and find them.
