local man considers bending forwards to be "absurd and medieval"

St. Michael is regarded as a warrior against Satan (symbolized by the dragon); Gabriel was the angel of the Annunciation (he holds a banner of his opening words, “Hail Mary”, and a lily, a symbol of Mary). Raphael is often depicted walking with the character of Tobias (though I’m not sure why he would here be depicted as a child). Uriel, the angel of light (symbolized by his fiery halo) is often depicted carrying a book or a scroll representing wisdom.
