Congratulations are in order. I married Santa Claus.

As with all engagements, the idea was proposed by a completely unrelated, third party member. One of my five year-old students informed me in October of the upcoming nuptials.

You are cordially invited to the wedding of SANTA CLAUS and Mrs. CLAUS (MISS HALEY) Friday November 17th at their home in the North Pole

Our wedding planner, age five, made sure we had everything we needed for a lovely ceremony.

Need: A big, big teddy bear, Balloons, Flowers, Cookies for Santa and the future Mrs. Claus, Cake (you eat it), To look very handsome (Santa), Dancing, First dance song (Jingle Bells), Open the chair for ladies so she can sit down. Yeah, the guys too.

For our honeymoon, we plan to travel the world on a sleigh, delivering presents. I am sure it will be memorable.

Things have been crazy busy, so if you’re still following me, thank you! 

I started my new part time job and its going well. Had a surprise going away party on the last day of my old management job, which was organized by someone who has become one of my closest friends. And my old boss gave me a bamboo plant which has added some much needed height to my little plant table. The new job is going well and the discount on smell good stuff and decor is nice, but its still retail so I’m hoping to be able to get the paid internship next semester so I can quit. But in order for that to happen we have to find a second car by January (totally doable, just hoping to find something that isn’t a total junker that we can afford).

I started my classes at the University and all is going well, aside from never being able to get through the readings. I blame 6 hours of sleep a night, no will power, and bad eyes haha. Going to get my eyes checked soon so hopefully that helps. And I’ve pretty much given in to the fact that I’m an 80 year old deep down and have to take at least a 30 minute nap in the afternoon.

The most EXCITING things that have happened have to do with my munchkin. She had her golden birthday on Labor Day so we threw a big party with tons of pink and gold decorations and a crap load of balloons (I’m still tripping over them). She got everything she asked for and everyone we invited came so she was ecstatic. The next day (my birthday) she went to her first day of preschool! My baby is no longer a baby, despite what she thinks when shes tired. I’m definitely the youngest parent at least for her class, and on the flip side I’m older than most of my classmates this semester. Kinda hard to find a place when you don’t really fit in anywhere.

And for anyone who has been paying attention to the drawn out battle of weaning my toddler (because its even more exhausting and honestly kind of annoying than ever!): I made a desperate act that appears to be paying off, but its still too soon to tell. More details in the future if this turns out to be the break through I’m hoping for.
