@kellyscowboy here is BillDarcy. If you need more, hmu
Bill and Darcy's relationship was... complicated to begin with.
They and Katherine grew up together. In the same circles, running rampant in rich people parties.
Bill and Darcy hated each other to begin with. They were the bitterest enemies. Trying to outdress each other, both trying to win Katherine over (she was the only one their dads approved of from the very start) and definitely totally not trying to impress each other.
Every single time they were together they argued. Argued like nobody's business. Almost got into fistfights (would have, but neither of them knew how to fight) sometimes.
It came to a head when Bill 'accidentally' spilled spaghetti on Darcy's new suit when they were 13.
The suit was ruined, and they were both put in the time-out room (a place where they had spent most of their time together).
This time was different. They were shouting at each other, screaming over each other, about how they can't both have Katherine and how Bill '[doesn't] even really want her' 'you-you don't?' 'no' 'me neither'
And just their moment of silence as they both take it in.
And Bill straightens up and says 'I still dress better than you, even if we're not fighting over Kat'
And they start arguing again, though it's less actual arguing and more playful banter, though it does get more and more heated
And then suddenly Darcy has Bill pinned up against the wall and they're kissing and-oh this is bad. But the best kind of bad and they just keep kissing and can't stop.
And suddenly, they're inseparable. Katherine is shocked and amazed, but absolutely elated that her friends are finally friends.
They both go to her to talk about their 'secret crush' that they can't tell her who she is because of x or y reason.
She knows long before they get together that they're desperately in love with each other.
Bill is the one to come forward to her about his feelings, and also about how terrified he is about confessing to Darcy, because he doesn't want it to ruin their friendship.
She responds with something along the lines of “If it ruins the friendship, it wasn’t a strong friendship to begin with”
He knows she's right, but still can't confess. Darcy goes to her not long after with the same concern, and gets told the same thing.
The difference is that Darcy takes her advice to heart.
And he finds Bill that very same day and goes and has this super long, heartfelt confession.
Bill is crying by the end of it.
They kiss in their little hide out.
So that's the how they got together!
And now here are little things about their relationship
They're both gay, but so smitten for each other, they don't even see anybody else.
Bill has a caffeine addiction, Darcy tries to stick to herbal teas without caffeine.
Bill is such a pillow prince. I don't even mean in the bedroom (though that's def a fact, too). I mean this boy doesn't do anything for himself. Not that he can't, it's just much more fun to flash puppy dog eyes and just 'pleaaase get me a water, Dar'
Darcy pretends to be frustrated when Bill asks and he does it for them. 'Billy, can't you get a glass of water yourself?' and then does it with a beaming smile like the absolute simp that he is.
On that note, Bill can talk Darcy into almost anything with a big smile and his puppy dog eyes-god those eyes.
He pretends that it's not the exact same the other way around, but Bill would absolutely do anything for Darcy.
Neither of them know how to cook, so they'll either tag along to newsie gatherings or eat out or order takeout
They use Katherine and Sarah as covers. They'll invite them over to hang out and have dinner and they'll go on double dates.
