Like, guys, who gives a shit what people ship?!
Like, as long as it’s not, like, glorifying incest, pedophilia, sexual assault, any forms of abuse (ie emotional, physical, financial, mental, etc.),or actually toxic relationships, whether in the source material or not, then, and I’ll say it again
WHO GIVES A SHIT?!?!
Just let people enjoy themselves and their fandoms please

Jean darkens her gaze, her shy and girlish mirth giving way to sisterly frustration.
“I know you complained about him to no end when we were kids, and I know I still don’t understand it.” She mutters. “I’d quite enjoy having one party when I come to visit that doesn’t end in petty name-calling between you and Bill Hearst. For Pete’s sake, of all the people I’d expect you to get along with-!”
“Our circumstances are similar,” Darcy says sternly. “We are not.”

Darcy Reid and Bill Hearst clash terribly. One is stiff and nervous, the other a picture of confidence; one stumbles through life while the other swans effortlessly. One takes himself apart piece by piece, prying out his broken parts so that he may adjust his blueprints and rebuild himself as something better - and the other was born as perfect as could be. They're a porcelain vase and a rust-stained bayonet, a Monet watercolour and a Carvaggio oil; it's only a matter of time before those differences become unbearable.
for the newsies fic exchange, i got @katherinebly! their request was:
"I would really really like some Cannon Era BillDarcy! maybe some period-typical angst, maybe some sort of Homosexual Affair type thing? They are absolutely my OTP and I'd love some period stuff of them instead of modern au if possible.
Also if the author knows about Jean Reid (actual historical person) and doesn't mind writing her then I'd be obsessed, she's one of my favourite cameo characters when it comes to Darcy fic."
i've never written for this pairing before, nor have i researched jean reid, so this was a wonderful learning experience - i actually really want to dig more into my characterizations for bill and darcy now! i hope i delivered what you were hoping for :)
Th original post (that I saw)
Still thinking about the how during the final Once and For All, when Jack told Kath to keep her fingers crossed, Bill could be seen in the back crossing his fingers and mouthing ‘fingers crossed’ to Darcy
Morning Coffee
From the “what would I do without you” prompts by @me-writes-prompts
Bill huffed, smacking the god forsaken Keurig before skulking into the dinng room, his arms crossed. Hearing his love enter the room, Darcy looked up from where he was reading the morning paper, a bemused smile on his face.
“Prince, I don’t think hitting it is going to solve any problems.” He told him with a chuckle.
This, however, only made the blond pout further. “Yes well, I can’t get the stupid thing to work and some people need caffeine to function, Darcy.” Bill replied with another huff.
Darcy raised an eyebrow at his husband, letting out a soft little sigh before setting down his paper. Bill had been wrestling with their new coffee machine (a wedding gift from Katherine and Sarah) ever since they had returned from their honeymoon. Darcy stood up, kissing Bill’s temple on his way into the kitchen. He hummed softly as he started making Bill coffee, finding where he went wrong almost immediately. He shook his head, deciding it was probably best to not point out that all Bill had to do was turn the part that held the coffee to the left ever so slightly and it would’ve snapped into place.
After this fix Darcy put in a coffee filter, scooping Bill’s favorite blend into it. He smiled when he felt arms wrap around his waist, continuing to make his coffee.
“What would I do without you, Dar?” Bill murmured, pressing his face into Darcy’s shoulder blade.
“You’d have to learn how to make your morning coffee yourself.” Darcy replied with a chuckle, turning around in Bill’s arms.
He leaned down and kissed his husband with a little smile. “Don’t worry, Prince. As long as you have me, you’ll always be caffeinated.” He teased, letting Bill cuddle into his arms as he waited for his coffee to finish brewing.
"you're so cute when you.. start babbling without realizing." requested by @sparkedblaze || the prompt list
"Other than how amazing the art is, the backstory is super cool. Plus, there's this really funny story about how he made this one bishop annoyed him so much that he painted him in hell so now he's forever going to be painted in hell in one of the most famous pieces of art-"
Bill had been rambling for a while. It had been a week since he had come back from Italy with his father on a business trip. They had a 'no work talk' rule in their relationship, but Darcy couldn't help but ask about the Sistine Chapel. It was one of the few things that Darcy would spend all of his money to see.
Darcy was fully immersed into the conversation, but he couldn't help but smile as Bill talked. It wasn't often that Bill talked so passionately. Usually, he had to be co-erced into talking about something he enjoyed. This time, all Darcy had to say was 'so how was the chapel?'
"Anyway," Bill took a deep breath and placed a hand on his own thigh. "It was really cool. We have to go some day, Darce. I know you'll love it." He took a couple of minutes to breathe as Darcy stared at him in awe. "When did it get dark outside? Was I really talking for that long? I'm sorry. I didn't even realize-"
"You better not apologize." Darcy smiled. "You're so cute when you start babbling without realizing. I wish you'd do it more. You've got such an interesting brain up there." He tapped his boyfriends head with his finger.
Bill took Darcy's hand and kissed his palm. "I'd talk more, but it'd mean less time listening to you talk."
