Another beading project I started during Portcon Maine 2017. Didn’t get it finished until sometime on July 4th; I know I was watching a DVD of Gettysburg while I worked on the last bits. (Fascinating depiction of the historic civil war battle, but good God, Martin Sheen was the wrong man to play Robert E. Lee.) The design is the Mimosa Necklace from Learn to Use Two-Hole Beads, by Teresa Morse.

Remember this collar from a few weeks ago? This is the original pattern, done in full instead of skipping straight to the last row the way I did upon realizing just how short I was on the necessary SuperDuos. That being said, I should note that the rice-like beads in this are actually Preciosa Twin Pressed beads rather than SuperDuos, and frankly, they fit together so much better when I was doing this that it wasn’t even funny. The gold-and-green collar would probably lie properly flat if I made enough rows to fan out the way this is arranged, but I really think switching to beads that fit more snugly together the way these do made a lot of difference, too.
