How do you see Nm's and Ccino's relationship? Is it different from canon?

Kay so, ngl, i’m still kinda refining how I interpret Ccino and his Au as a whole, so what imma say is just a few paragraphs of the gist of how i think of it so far dhxghxhxh

Nightmare found out about fluffytale and by extension Ccino through doing research of different AUs, as Nightmare has a tendency to study AUs to understand how they work and how he can apply it in his own plans/take advantage of them

The reason Fluffytale even caught Nightmare’s attention at all, was for 2 reasons:

1- the Au no longer has any Alternative timelines as there only seems to be one single timeline left, meaning, it’s the one singular unique Au, single main Au with no copies that illustrate different events, and the code of the Au seems completely corrupted, meaning the very concept of new timelines being created is impossible

Nightmare isn’t completely sure why every other timeline seems to have been erased out of existence and why the code is corrupted, but he guesses it’s Error’s work

2- the Au has a cafe which is open to host whoever in the multiverse, regardless of who they are, whether infamous for violence or known for their kindness, whether they are a person who’s part of another Au, or an outcode, it welcomes everyone, including his twin, and by extension himself

Not only did Nightmare see potential in having another set of eyes on the outside world and a great source of info, but even as a source of negativity considering the misery in that universe in general

Nightmare eventually visits the Au himself and watches the cafe from afar for a few weeks before actually visiting the cafe himself

Obviously, with the intent to make a “deal” with the owner of the cafe (Ccino)

Ccino is completely unaware of the state of his Au, thinking that other timelines do exist, and by extension, having a bit of courage to refuse Nightmare’s “offer” at first

Nightmare being the bitch who never takes “no” for an answer, threatens Ccino that he will destroy his Au, and kill his family, and let him watch it happen, which again, Ccino is fine with (lie) as long as he knows there are other timelines in which they live peacefully (he’s not actually fine with it, he’s terrified of Nightmare and his threats, but the idea of other timelines existing gives Ccino a little bit of hope that even if he dies, another version of himself and his brother are out there happy and safe)

And that’s when Nightmare tells him about the state of his Au, and even proving that there’s only this one timeline, and that crushes any sort of hope and confidence in Ccino, and well, Nightmare takes that as a chance to manipulate Ccino into a deal

The deal Nightmare’s trying to entrap Ccino into is for Ccino to be an outside source of info on the multiverse and what happens within it, considering his cafe is open to anyone out there, and an active info source at that, so if Dream were to visit the cafe, Ccino is to report that to him immediately, if anything happens within the cafe that could be good info that might benefit Nightmare, Ccino is to report that to him, if Nightmare were to visit himself, he expects a full report of what’s been happening out there when Nightmare’s been busy with his own nuisances, however Ccino isn’t allowed to provide info about Nightmare or his gang to anyone else

Ccino however, wouldn’t just accept Nightmare’s deal without his own terms, so he tells Nightmare that if he were to provide info, Nightmare’s forbidden from harming his Au or anyone in it (including people who visit his universe from other universes, no matter who it is, even if it’s Dream) which Nightmare (reluctantly) agrees to, and so the deal is made

So now, Ccino acts like an outsource spy to Nightmare without anyone’s knowledge, so an innocent Dream who thinks he can tell Ccino whatever thinking Ccino’s a good confidant would have the shock of his life if he ever found out anything Ccino was told went to Nightmare

Ccino obviously, finds no joy in this, and he even tries to keep somethings from Nightmare, it’s just hard to do that when your soul starts beating fast and fear grips his nonexistent throat and Nightmare catches his fear and starts questioning him :)

Ccino carries a lot of guilt for it, but just like any victim under Nightmare, Ccino is forced to do shit he isn’t proud of or want to do, it eats away at him and is just making his mental health worse than it already is

Ccino hears from Dream about how much Nightmare means to him, and so, since his job is to “provide info” he also relays those sweet conversations to Nightmare, hoping it might stirr something inside his cold soul, Nightmare barely twitches at such comments tho (further crushing whatever false hope he may have)

I plan for Presso (Fluffytale Paps) to also have a big role in the story and how it all connects to Nightmare, but I’m still working on that part so uhh nothing to say about that for now zhxhhdhdhhs, all I know is that I want Persso to also fall into making a deal with Nightmare shshhs

Ngl been working on a comic with Nightmare’s and Ccino’s “deal” but i’m far from done dbbdbxbx here’s a lil snippet tho

Unexpected Changes - Chapter 4

Ccino’s phone buzzed. He already knew who that was.

“Hi Color”, Ccino said with his usual kind tone.”Is everything okay? You called me earlier today.”

“Nothing outside the usual”, Color’s tired voice could be heard from the phone. He probably hadn’t taken a sip of his morning coffee. “I am just calling to know if you are alright.”

Ccino couldn’t help but let out a small giggle. “Hehe, you don’t have to worry, I am okay!”

“Are you though?”

Color said that as if he didn’t visit Ccino for weeks, when in reality he appeared in the previous day with his boyfriend to help take care of the kids and of the shop.

“Don’t lie to him, coffee boy!”, Epic’s voice could be heard on the other side of the call. “If this man discovers you were crying he is going to-”, and then he stopped talking. Instead, a very loud screaming from one of his rubber chicken getting smacked against a solid surface could be heard.

Ccino started to laugh as Color exasperatedly told his boyfriend to stop acting like that - it was 8 a.m.

Honestly, Ccino didn’t know where he would be now if it weren’t for them both.

…

Not so long after Nightmare disappeared, Ccino’s mental condition worsened. He felt lonely - the only person who stayed for him just… didn’t stay - and the fact he had to deal with his own feelings while having to prepare for the arrival of his kids and take care of an entire coffee shop on his own was, well, exhausting.

Then, these two guys, Color and Epic, started coming to the coffee shop. They started being frequent customers - probably due to Color’s coffee addiction - and they ended up making friends with Ccino. It was fun to have them around - they would always bicker each other in such a sweet way, and they all would have such fantastic ‘pun battles’ until the three would be wheezing on the ground.

Again, it was fun to have them around. They were extremely friendly, like most of his customers really, but, one thing the shop owner didn’t expect was the couple’s sharp eye to his silent signals of tiredness and discomfort. 

They would always gently point out that he had bags under the eyes, that he would almost fall asleep in the back of the balcony sometimes and many other things…

So then they started by offering to help Ccino with his chores around the shop. They were both too stubborn to accept Ccino’s refusals. They managed to overcome his stubbornness - a big win, really.

They knew when Ccino was having a bad day, and it was in those in which they gave him a very, very helpful hand.

…But of course, that didn’t change the fact that Ccino was depressed and still didn’t overcome the fact Nightmare left him and his soon to be born kids alone… This resulted in Ccino having a mental breakdown in front of his two friends, in which he finally ended up saying what happened.

And once again, they both gave him the most helpful hands in the world. They stood in there for him, gave him room to think over his own feelings and vent his own feelings and insecurities when necessary. 

When he suggested going to a therapist, they both supported the idea. And that meant the world for him, as it was a huge step he was afraid to take - he feared just talking about all the crap that made him feel upset with himself with someone he wasn’t familiar with… but in the end, he guessed that it wasn’t as bad as he thought it would be…

While managing to vent out, he managed to think things through - specially when it came to parenting - and he got a lot less insecure about it.

And then, the babies came. It was extremely difficult, but he wasn’t alone, as the triplet’s best uncles were always visiting to help their very tired papa. The least said papa could do was to make Epic and Color their godfathers - role they gladly accepted!

The kids would always have fun with Color and Epic. They were the best child entertainers and caretakers Ccino ever met. The back of his coffee shop, where his actual house was, would always be filled with laughters.

Of course, things weren’t perfect - three toddlers and a coffee shop filled with cats gave him a lot of work to do! - But Ccino wasn’t alone anymore. He had people who actually cared about him and would always be there.

He couldn’t have wished for more.

Almost two years without updating this fanfic! I really am not proud of how much time it took for me to write two pages, but it is here!

This is the conclusion of Unexpected Changes. I wanted to apologize to everyone who was waiting for an update.

@lixgalactic sorry for the tag but you seemed interested in seeing a continuation. Actually, it was your comment that motivated me to give this story an actual conclusion!

Kávézó

- minden nap megkérdezed tőlem, hogy “Na, akkor egy kávé?”. Millió dolgom lenne, mégis igent mondok. Felszállunk a buszra, majd le. Elsétálunk a kávézóig, ahol kinyitod nekem az ajtót, én pedig bemegyek. Hirtelen önmagam leszek. Te megrendeled a két pressót, míg én a szokásos helyünkre sietek. Leveszem a kabátom, s próbálok minél hamarabb felmelegedni. Leülsz mellém, két kezemet a kezed közé fogod. A pincér kihozza a két kávét. Te fél fehércukorral iszod, én pedig tejszínnel és kettő barnacukorral. Mindig hamar megiszod, én pedig kiélvezem az ízét. Amint befejezed, megiszod a tejszínt, külön, ahogy szoktad. Minden témát kibeszélünk, néha csak hagyom, hogy mondjad. Szeretem hallgatni, ahogy beszélsz. Aztán megszólal a mi számunk a rádióban. Igazából egyikőnk sem szereti, mégis mindig ez szól, ha ott vagyunk, ezért mindkettőnk számára sokat jelent. Miután a lehető legtovább húztam a kávém megivását, elindulunk. Fizetsz, váltasz pár szót a pincérrel, majd kinyotod nekem az ajtót, én pedig kimegyek a csípős hidegbe. Rágyújtasz egy cigire, én pedig a zsebedbe rakom a kezem. Így megyünk egészen hazáig, ahol egy csókkal köszönsz el.

Másnak ez csak pár órát jelent, de nekem ezek a legboldogabb perceim.
