30 minuet video challenge - ‘Something that should be an Olympic sport’
Sound and Movement: Some initial inspiration
Matt Pyke and Universal everything
Work amazingly with expressive moving image, paired with some perfect song/sound to match it. The pieces are highly unique and some look at the movement from some very interesting perspectives.
‘Life Cycle’ - This piece is very expressive and up for complete interpretation. The video fits solely around the movement of the circles and the way that they’re catching the light and the way that creates new shapes and imagery across the screen.
‘Walking City’ - This is my favourite piece created by this company. The music creates a ‘stomping’ effect alongside the walking animation, creating the illusion of this character being heavy and substantial. The simplicity of the piece just being a person walking is made incredibly interesting and complex by the ever moving shapes around him. Its the perfect example of sound and movement complimenting each other.
The Gorillaz (The Virtual Band)
The Gorillaz have become incredibly famous not only for their music but for the way they present it. They’re known for their ‘virtual band’ identity, creating characters that fit have become iconic to their music and videos that incorporate them amongst some amazing visuals.
Feel Good Inc (Music Video)
The music video for ‘Feel Good Inc.’ is one of the most iconic, as well as being a perfect example of the way the mix movement within their videos with the music they’re known so well for. The speeds in which the animations moving changes in accordance with the song as well as the overall pace of the video blending perfectly with the tone of the song.
Clint Eastwood (Music Video)
These music video incorporates the movement and imagery of their characters to create an overtone to fit the music almost better than the iconic Feel Good Inc Piece. The incorporation of sound effects that aren't actually on the song gives way to increase the visuals and the use of the sharp change in angels creates a uniquely edgey effect to fit the way the song makes you feel.
Lazer light shows
Lazer light shows incorporate 3D lighting, fire, screen work animation and bulb lighting to create amazing displays that keep the viewer completely entranced. They're often paired with music that complements and goes with the movement of the light, often moving or changing on the beat. This is why they’re often used at festivals and other music events to create spectacles that its visiters will not soon forget.
Chinese 3D lazer light show
This absolutely phenomenal show was first done in 2016 and completely entraps you into watching it without being able to take your eyes away. The use of having lazers coming from all angles and positions means that the piece can come to life, almost making you feel as though your apart of it, making compositions that look as though you could reach out and touch them. Although the music is not the main focus of this piece it would not be the same without it. The matching music amplifies the intensity of the piece, and helps you brain to make sense of the constant movement with its matching beat and sound pattern.
