Yet, among the tombstones stood William, radiating happiness as he allowed himself to laugh in pure joy under the moonlight. Surely, to passerby, he was indeed insane.
”--Jacob, my friend,” he began, yet the call of his name did not halt the dead sea captain’s bellowing words of fury -- words only William could hear. “I beg you, stop -- this tale I have heard countless times, yet you do not fail in amusement.”
The laughter did not cease, just as the captain did not cease his yelling. Often Jacob spun this tale, and the gravedigger was convinced it was for his sake, as the adventures of the spirit when alive were of great delight to him. 】
