A very hot take: there is absolutely no reason to complain about adaptations of Tolkien works adding more women and people of color in prominent roles.

Tolkien isn't perfect. He made very good but flawed books. His female characters aren't the greatest. People who adapt his works can fix that. Acknowledging that isn't going to open a rift that destroys time and space.

I'm kind of confused right now. Is Aran male or female? In a dialogue in extreme mode Aran is referred to as male but I think I remember that someone used female pronouns at some point.
