Actually, there's a shitton of people I know who had a problem with zwarte piet before it became called out. And sure, you can call out our problems, but from the things you posted it's clear that you don't really even know what the tradition. Just please, don't call people out on stuff when you don't know exactly how this shit works. Do your research first. Cause it's pretty clear you didn't.
I'm sorry, what the fuck do you want?1. A simple google search will tell anyone all they need to know about this highly complex tradition you urge me to learn more about.2. IT IS RACIST.3. IT IS RACIST.4. IT IS FUCKING RACIST what else to you need me to learn before I am able to say this and not get ridiculous messages??!!!!!How about YOU learn a little by reading this great article? Excerpt:What needs to be addressed is not whether this tradition (or elements of it) is racist, but why the majority of Dutch society is denying the truth that it is. The answer, we believe, is not at all specific to the unique characteristics of the Sinterklaas/Zwarte Piet issue. The answer is not even specific to the Netherlands, or to Europe for that matter. The larger issue is the gross misunderstanding of what "racism" is, of how "racism" works, and white guilt and identity.
Hey. I'm against the zwarte piet thing, but honest to god, people like you piss me off so much. You're not even dutch, sinterklaas is NOT christmas, and you're just basically judging a whole situation on next to no info about it. You of all people should probably know not to act like you know everything about a country when you don't. We're working on it. Don't spread wrong information.
Hi. So the wrong information was that it is not Christmas? That doesn't seem to me like a very relevant part of the issue. So it is on December 5th - St. Nicholas' Eve. What does it matter what day it is? And if people ARE working on ending this horrible tradition it is certainly BECAUSE the information is spread and they are called out, shamed, informed, whatever. Whatever works. You know, there are disgusting traditions in my country too. And I always feel so happy when I see people from other countries spreading information about those issues because I feel like I'm not alone at trying to work on them and bringing light to them. I hope you consider this.
ahh i just saw your long distance relationship thing and lemme tell you they're hard as fuck. to other people they're often cute and skype dates are fun as heck but it gets really really hard. most people can't do them and just drop out eventually, even if they still have feelings for each other :c it's sad really
Yeah, I mean I can't see myself in one unless it didn't start out as a long distance relationship. I feel like I would be the person to drop interest.
just a sleepy Saturday morning for Matt and Karen... then he gets a text from his big sister.
The shape of it, the way it swoops delicately over her features as she is sleeping on her stomach. Her head is buried in his pillow, the ginger strands blowing gently with her slow breaths.
He’d had a sleeping problem since he started Doctor Who. His GP blamed the long hours, the sporadic night shoots, the broken rests, the unpredictable changes in Cardiff weather... but Matt knew better.
He hadn’t slept well since Karen came into his life. He hated waking up a dozen times a night, thinking he felt her beside him, thinking he heard her voice.
Four years later, she is here, she is real. She is going to make a big superhero action movie in London for four months and she is naked in his bed. When she told him she got the part in a Marvel film, he threw the phone on the floor and screamed. He always knew she would be magnificent, and now the world would know it.
But that was for later. Right now, she was just his. Her creamy white skin lying in his soft dark sheets, oblivious to the sounds of cars and busses below, a city waking to life.
He reached out to push a strand of her hair behind her ear and she stirred.
“If it is before 9AM, you are dead, Smithers,” she spoke softly, her voice sullied with sleep.
He smiled and kissed her earlobe. “I’m sorry. You know I can’t sleep worth a damn.”
She opened her arms to him with her eyes still closed. He gathered her towards his bare chest. “You mean I didn’t wear you out last night? You seemed to enjoy it, you weirdo.”
Matt sighed, kissing the top of his head and brushing his free hand over her short hair. “I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to this.”
She opened her eyes and shifted her chin to rest on his shoulder. “It’s just hair, it will grow back, dummy.”
He laughed. “That’s not what I meant and you know it.”
She slid her leg between his. “You mean, this? Us? Waking up together? I quite like it.”
He kissed her softly. “I like it too. I love it. I’ve just missed you so much, Kaz.”
“Mmm, missed you too,” she sleepily replied, closing her eyes and resting her cheek against his chest.
He shakes his head. “No, I mean, I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t work. I loved Who, but honestly I was just going through the motions when you and Darvill left. I was gutted.”
She turned her face to look at him and met his hazel eyes with her own. “I know,” she ran her fingers over his tight stomach. “I missed you too. Los Angeles is great, but every place I went, I was always looking for you. I don’t even think I realized it until you picked me up at Heathrow the other day.”
Matt looked down at their entwined hands, bringing them up to his mouth and kissing her fingertips. “I don’t think I am going to let you go back.”
She sat up slowly, pulling the sheet up towards her naked breasts. “Is that so? And what are you going to do to stop me?” she put her hand on her hip.
He laughed. “Ooh, that fiery Inverness. You know how I love that.”
She punched him lightly on the shoulder. “You perv.”
“I meant I’m not going to let you go back without me.”
She froze. Her eyes met his and her lips spread into a slow smile. “Me and you, California?”
He shrugged. “Or New York. We can figure it out. I don’t care as long as we’re together.”
“You are ridiculous!” She pulled his face into her hands and opened her mouth to his. They kissed for a few moments and she settled into his lap. Their naked skin pressed together as they explored each other with their mouths.
Everything was ancient but everything was brand new -- kind of like the Doctor himself.

Much, much later, they were showered and dressed and out to brunch. Matt had a Bloody Mary while Karen sipped a Mimosa.
Matt’s phone buzzed. It was from his sister, Laura.
Matty... Mum and Dad and James and I are going to dinner tonight. Would love to see you if you are free. let me know. love u xxxxxxx
“Anything important?” Karen asked, peering over his shoulder. He kissed her cheek.
“Wanna crash my family’s double date tonight?”
She smiled at him and raised her glass. “I get to see your Mum? I am in.”
Matt’s face lit up like a pallet of exploded fireworks. “It will be a surprise.”
“Even better. I love surprises,” she kissed him lightly on the lips. He grabbed her hand.
