Skill Presentation:
You have ten minutes to present your chosen skill-
The words echoed through Eva’s mind as she strode through the doors of the training center. She had been the last one waiting in that room, but contrary to popular belief it only let her calm down and collect herself. She had thought about what to do and if the gamemakers like it they would like it and if they didn’t then it would be like that. There was no use of fretting over what could happen.
The air in the room was cool showing no sign of the previous presentations, either it had been cleaned properly or no one had done anything spectacular. Her eyes landed on the gamemakers showing a reasonable amount of disinterest, which Eva could understand. She wouldn’t have wanted to watch 26 people more or less fumble through their excercises.
Truth to be told. Eva had not learned much of weapon handling, actually she hadn’t learned how to handle any of them, but that didn’t matter now. She doubted that she would have managed to learn it in such a short span of time anyway. She would have to do with the stuff she knew.
It was a short walk towards the fire making station and not for the first time during her time in the tower that she wondered how fast someone could get used to a place. Within minutes she had a few fires burning made out of various material and different ways. By this time everything Eva was doing was mechanical, with her body taking over there was no space for the fear of failure, no time for exhaustion. She just needed to get that over with. Once the fire was burning she turned around heading for the weight station. She was in no way nearly as muscled as some of the tributes she had seen, but the work on the field and in the mines had made her muscles grow and she could carry a decent weight. The next few minutes were spent with weights being lifted and tossed around as hard and as heavy as she could relishing in the burn of her body. It was nice to do something familiar, nice to feel good at something again. Yet once she felt like she had done all she could do, there wasn’t much variation concerning weighs after all she still had time left and she eyed the climbing wall with a nervous look. She could do this right? She hadn’t been that bad. As she scrambled up the wall as fast as she could she felt her body aching with every move, but she refused to slow down if only to spite the gamemakers. Just as she pulled herself over the edge the timer rang and she gazed at the gamemakers breathing heavily with a small smirk. Her way down was provocatingly slow taking her time before she shut the door behind her feeling like she had just closed a door on a part of her life.
