A home with a view along the SF Peninsula is desirable, to be sure. Views in these neighborhoods can include the SF Bay, bridges, canyons, and even the SF skyline. But a beautiful view does not just happen - it is created and enhanced. Here are a few things to consider when making the most of views in your own home:
* Windows - Large windows, wall-to-wall windows, and floor-to-ceiling windows can make a view larger than life, yes, but smaller and varied windows can provide surprise glimpses of a view from different points within a house. Bay windows and window seats invite passers by to feel immersed in the view.
* Doors - Doors that slide, fold, or otherwise move out of the way allow the view to become part of the interior design.
* Landscaping - It is easy to think of landscaping from the view of someone looking at the yard from the street or from within the yard itself. Consider the way that trees and plants can frame a view - or block it if not pruned.
* Interior Design - Play with the layout of furniture and arrange it around the view so that it welcomes visitors to take it in. Design with colors that enhance the view - and for a really spectacular effect consider neutral interior colors that make the exterior colors really come to life.
