The first time Din shows you his face, a tiny little part of you feels a bit of sadness because he has to hide his beautiful face away from the world. Mostly though, you’re glad to finally see your love’s handsome face after so long and you can finally map his face with your fingers and lips and see what you’re touching.

I think this is one of the most beautiful moments in your relationship with Din.

He’s oddly not as nervous as he thought he’d be, because he knows how deep your love goes and that it stretches way beyond outward appearances. But still, part of him wants you to be in love with him physically, to admire the man he is beneath the helmet.

Din gets really nervous when he sees that sad glint appear in your gaze because he thinks you’re sad that he’s not as handsome as you thought he’d be. He tries to keep himself calm but he is breathing more rapidly than usual and he can feel a little tremor in your hands when you keep studying him. You’re not saying anything, just trailing your hands all over his face, mapping out his features, and Din’s afraid still that you’re disappointed. It swells up in his chest and he actually finds himself close to tearing up in his utter fear at your reaction.

But then, you say, I can’t believe you’ve had to hide this loveliness under a mask for so long. and he realizes that sadness was for the fact he couldn’t be revealed to more people. That sadness was because you admire him so deeply that you wish you could’ve known for longer what he truly looked like.

Yet, it still breaks him. Din fights the tears but still, a couple escape, just because he’s so relieved and he’s so happy to finally see you with his own eyes and to let you see him in return. You just happily brush them or kiss them away, the movements gentle and full of nothing but admiration.

And he’ll be the one to lean in for the first kiss, a soft display of affection that’s so sweet and gentle that Din realizes you deserve to be sad for the fact you’d both been missing out on something so beautiful for so long.
