i’m tired of idols (in this case vernon) having a very stereotypical disrespectful image of what blackness is and imitating it either because they take blackness as a joke or because they think their image of blackness is cool while not doing anything to educate themselves on black culture
and then to have (western) ppl, and americans no less, excuse their actions bc “he was just having fun” “he was just messing around” “he lives in south korea he doesn’t have exposure to black culture” like 1. you can do something offensive without intending to be offensive 2. congrats, you excusing his racism as a westerner (this goes doubly for americans) who is exposed to black culture proves that exposure isn’t necessary to be educated on race

i’m....how u say....really tired of seeing white enjolras/white prouvaire especially when it comes to them being the only white ppl in the amis and describing them as incredibly beautiful/incredibly graceful when those adjectives aren’t necessarily associated with the rest of the amis
