With my car crash i lost all my confidence and stopped socialising.Not being a Police Officer had destroyed me.I couldn't even leave my home because people no longer saw the walking tall strong respected authority figure Police Woman. I tried to commit suicide because i thought my daughter would be better off w/o me. I was in a dark painful place. But i lived with the help of my daughter to stop listening to other peoples views about me ,to no longer believe what others saw because i didn't see (true words being said to me over the years- 'Cripple' 'your nothing' 'your better off dead' 'your ugly' 'your fat' 'spaz' 'you can't do things' 'you shouldnt be a mother' 'your disgusting ' 'your embarrassment ' 'your disabled you don't belong here ' 'handicapps dont have a place here' 'your a burden' 'your not normal ' 'your better of dead' 'your daughter doesnt have a life with you' list goes on. I decided to rise above it and move forward by putting all my emotions into all the areas that makes me happy, loved , valued, wanted ,needed and i created purpose to be motivated and productive to show disability matters. That i and we matter, that i proud disabled indianwoman& mother matters & it's my right to represent as much of society as i can for woman,for ethnicities, for religion, for disabilities,for survivors of all forms of abuse,for those suffering with mental health.So I decided to free myself from lables and no longer fit in 1 box. I used all my qualities to be a voice for all these people. When brand campanies turn to me asking for me to be part of their teams means all my qulaities of who i am are being accepted-Disability is being recognised!
