I miss how old YouTube was. This is getting fucking ABSURD. INCREASING FOR WHAT????? YOU HAVENT DONE ANYTHING TO WARRANT THIS, NOR DO I WANT TO PAY THAT MUCH JUST TO WATCH WITHOUT ADS, YOU GREEDY FUCKS???

(Copied and uncensored version of my first ever review of an app on YouTube’s App Store page)

I know this won’t be shown on the App Store or wherever else because they don’t want to show any “bad reviews” that actually come from a person and not a bot that’s sucking their dick, but what the hell. I’m mad enough about it to express my anger to these greedy ass people running this app.

I joined YouTube MANY years ago. Probably when I was underage, as most people are when first joining YouTube back then, but I am 22 now, and I have watched the quality of this app spiral into the Earth’s depths because of the greedy actions taken by the people running this shitshow they call an app. YouTube used to be an escapism for me (and hundreds of thousands of people as well, no doubt), and back then, I could handle a few ads every now and then to support my favorite creators since I didn’t have my own money back then. When I GOT my own money, I thought “hey, I’ll pay for Premium, because I don’t really like ads, but hopefully the amount I pay for it will help YouTube make the app better!”

Oh my sweet, sweet, little, naive self.

Premium, when I got it, was around…. I want to say $15.99? Back then? Then it got bumped up to $18.99, and has been like that for a while now. At first, it was… fine… whatever… but NOW I wake up and see I have an email from YouTube saying the price is increasing AGAIN to $20.99. Unbelievable.

If you REALLY want me to think paying THAT MUCH MONEY- JUST to watch without ADS (which are 90 seconds now, by the way, AND mostly UNSKIPPABLE) and have the mini-player- is a GOOD DEAL, then I SERIOUSLY implore you to remove all your stupid AI BULLSHIT on your app. It has not ONCE helped anyone and has only been harming your users on your platform.

Once you rethink (and completely REMOVE) your entire Ai-first approach to your app, and cut down on those ABSURD ad amounts and times, then MAYBE I’ll reconsider coming back and paying for your egregiously expensive premium plan. Until then. I’m either finding another app that has acceptable prices for their ad-free viewing, or will seriously consider investing in those adblockers you oh-so DESPISE but are now quite literally REQUIRED just to be able to actually WATCH the content you host and not just the ads. Good riddance.

I heard Nintendo upped their game prices to 80 or 90 dollars. That’s like 50 percent more. I can understand upping the console prices a bit for better hardware but it’s a one time purchase. I love video games but with how the economy is I already skip meals and struggle to pay bills.

Now I’m going to have to start skipping games more. It will take more micro saving to get a game. I thought Nintendo priced their games so that even the common folk and poor could have accessibility to their content.

Wah complain complain. I guess I don’t Need new games. I heard that Pokémon z-a isn’t going to be good and hyrule warriors age of imprisonment can be enjoyed by watching other people online and the new Mario kart isn’t needed since there is so many. I was going to have to pick which one to save my micro savings for anyone. I guess I don’t Need any of them.

Once Nintendo sets this standard everyone will follow so I guess games are going to be an even more expensive luxury for the well off now.

Sorry. Thanks for reading if you did and I’m sorry if it bothered you I think I just needed to vent some frustration.
