a wasting sickness afflicts the clans, and for reasons that will be explained there, rosestorm goes to thunderclan.

owlnose and yellowpaw die, yellowpaw presumably catching it from him.

rimekit, hackberrykit, and echokit also die.

birchpaw and pricklypaw are apprenticed to blizzardstep and sandclaw.

before the sickness hits, the clans also are hit by a great storm. during it, larchstorm has four kits, maplekit (mottled black tortoiseshell she-cat), gustkit (tom with white patches), galekit (spotted tom), and showerkit (black silver mackerel tabby tom with long fur). the kits are named after the storm.

(i'm aware this is how stormkit and oakkit are named in canon; that scene was very influential to my thoughts on how and why riverclan names cats.)
