how is a person supposed to take compliments? like how to respond?
i mean, i was in a toy shop today and a lady was doing an inventory on the giant plush unicorns. i was admiring her eye makeup game (dramatic wings by the way, which totally went with her black/grey hair. when she isn’t at work i bet she’s a super hot goth girl...) and needed access to the giant plush unicorns so i asked her if i could just get in there to assess the situation. she was like
“oh yeah sure, here they’re 30% off too”. so bonus!!
but then she was “oh i love your boot laces, id sooo wear laces like that at work if i could get away with it”.
my laces are rainbow coloured and i replied “ah i got them at the rugby a few years ago, they’re pride laces”
and that was it. i didn’t acknowledge the compliment i just gave her factual information relating to the sourcing of the laces. i don’t think i’m hardwired to accept compliments?
