INCOMING RANT

I'm so sick of people saying that the LGBTQ+ community is now being "overrepresented". No, we are being fetishized and used to milk money out of a franchise. For the most part, cartoons have been handling LGBTQ characters really well, but thanks to companies milking us like a starving cow, everyone is quick to scream at these cartoons for pandering to us for money. It's the same with companies acting like they give a fuck at June, thinking that making their twitter accounts profile picture a rainbow is great representation and inclusion. No, you are a multimillion dollar company. Donate some of that money to LGBTQ organizations. Your shitty profile picture isnt gonna help the people who are abused, raped, and MURDERED for their sexuality or gender identity. You making a side character in your tv show and claiming them to be gay while immediately killing them off? Surprise! That isnt gonna help.

So what did we learn? If a character happens to be dating someone who is of the same gender, it's not inherently queerbaiting. Dont blame people who genuinely want to have representation in their shows, blame these companies who don't do jack shit but claim to be inclusive.
