Hey y'all! So, it takes a lot for me to reach out and ask for help - it's anxiety inducing and isn't something that happens often. But I'm reaching out for some help now. I moved to Portland in June of 2015. Before that, I lived in Miami, FL. I went to college there and volunteered with a queer youth outreach program called Pridelines. Back in 2015, I took over one the position as a volunteer in the kitchen for the once a year queer youth leadership retreat that they do; CampOUT. Last year, I flew back to Miami to help again, entirely out of my own pocket. I intend to do the same this year, but extremely high student loans are barring me from doing so feasibly. I've set up a gofundme to help to be able to get a round trip ticket and to help pay some bills during the time that I will be gone, so I'm shooting for about seven hundred dollars (my plane ticket will probably be around three hundred round trip). This is a volunteer driven event and it's a weekend that makes a huge difference in the lives of Queer youth. I don't get paid for this and I do it because I want to make that difference and help troubled queer youth to be able to thrive and grow. Even if you can't donate to my cause, if you could share this, that would be amazing.
