Well, in all honesty, most of my comfort ships are OC x canon and even OC x OC. I want to mention them now that you ask, but I've never really talked about my OC's (aside from Prism, I posted her bio on here), so I dont want there to be confusion? If that makes sense? But I'll mention them in case anyone is curious and wants to ask
Prism x NiGHTS/PriGHTS (NiGHTS into Dreams)
Prism x Reala/Realism (NiGHTS into Dreams)
Prism x Audaci/Prudaci (NiGHTS into Dreams). Audaci is my friends @marshmallow-biscuit-blog OC, please go check her out, she has awesome characters and art and headcannons! ^^
Mirrage(my version of Selph) x Jackle/Mirrackle (NiGHTS into Dreams)
And last (but not least). NxR/RiGHTS (NiGHTS into Dreams). I will admit, this ship isnt really an OTP for me. I just see the art and headcannons for them and I think they look cute together. But the comfort I get out of it is seeing my two friends @marshmallow-biscuit-blog and @doggie-guts (another great artist you guys have to check out!) gush about this harmless ship and be so happy and content. I honestly wouldn't have gotten into the ship if it weren't for them. Not to mention the fact that they are the two who supported me the most in the NiD fandom, so seeing the NxR ship makes me happy since it reminds me of our friendship.
As for comfort characters... I have FAR too many to count, so I'll just go with the kind I'll like. Comfort characters are usually characters that I can relate to in some way. Like Marceline from Adventure time, how she tries to hide her problems and insecurities from anyone. For me, it's something that I can project onto without any judgment in a way. Of course I have friends I can vent to and talk to, but there are times where I just want to hide everything, you know?
I know this probably doesnt make sense, but it's the best way I could think of for describing it.
