I was watching a review of The Black Cauldron, and this just... Popped into my head.

Aurora is surrounded by life, a symbol of light. Her hair is that of sunshine and lips as red as the rose, and even her eyes are blue/violet that could be compared to violets or forget-me-nots. She exudes warmth and kindness without another thought, and only wishes to her own songbird to sing sweet things with. The Horned King is practically death incarnate, wishing to create his army of the dead to rule the land. His skin is that of a mummified cadaver, eyes as red as blood and their glow is the only light the king could offer. It is a wonder how his rotting, black heart can beat.

She is light, he is darkness. He is death, she is life. Those who know me know how much of a sucker I am for those kind of ships, so honestly this was inevitable.

And of course, I have a few ideas on how this can go. Yes, yes, I know that The Horned King is in Wales and Aurora is in France, probably not even in the same time period, but hear me out.

The Horned King hears of the princess who was blessed by three of some of the most powerful fairies in Europe, and then survived a curse from the most wicked and powerful fairy of all. It intrigues the King, very few mortals can anger the likes of Maleficent and live to tell the tale. And with magic imbued into this princess, perhaps she could be of use to him, similar to the oracle pig. He sends his dragons to find the princess who's voice can command the animals of the forest (word about Aurora may have gotten jumbled by the time it reached The Horned Kings ears 😅). If his own men cannot find The Black Cauldron, and that pig has been cooked up into a stew, then perhaps this princess can be 'persuaded' to order the animals to find the cauldron.

At least Disney's retelling if Sleeping Beauty takes place in the 14'th century. I couldn't find when The Chronicles of Prydain, the book series The Black Cauldron is based off of, takes place. But if it's actually later in history, imagine if Phillip had been killed during his battle with Maleficent. Or by any other reason, he couldn't kiss Aurora awake. The princess is left in her tower, sleeping and awaiting for her true love that will never come. Then, about a century later, when the Horned King has taken over the land, he hears of the Maiden of Death, how she lays still in her tower with nothing but a red rose in her hands. It sounds skeptical to him, though whilst on a crusade, he stumbles across Auroras castle surrounded by enchanted thorns to keep mortal men at bay. But The Horned King had given up his life long ago, and something this protected could be of value to his army. The Horned King cares not for his torn skin and coagulated blood staining the stone beneath his feet as he ventures forward, climbing the stairs to the tallest tower. And then his gaze locks onto her. The supposed Maiden of Death... And she looks nothing like he pictured. Her skin is too warm and alive, the rise and fall of her chest remind him of the fluttering of a doves wings, and her golden tresses billow around her like a halo of sunlight... And yet, she is here, surrounded by cold stone and sharp thorns to scare off anyone who wouldn't dare to venture here. Either a grand wizard or spirit loved her too much to allow her to be harmed, or something was trying to contain her... What is a hollow hearted king to do?

A more lighthearted take. But if these two tales took place in the same country, imagine if Aurora actually befriended one of the dragons that serves The Horned King? Or maybe even Creeper himself? It would take some creative thinking to figure out how that would happen. But if anyone could befriend the dragons or Creeper, it would either be Aurora or Snow White. Of course the king notices when his minion is growing... Softer. Weaker. He has no interest in why, he only wishes for it to end. Or else... But perhaps one of his soldiers notices exactly where the dragon or Creeper go, and inform their king of the strange maiden who lives in the forest not too far from the castle. She ran away at the sight of another human, and yet welcomed the frightening dragon or the bumbling Creeper.

Ok this one is cheating since its using an AU, but I love it so- Soulmate AU. Any kind of Soulmate AU, but for some reason I was thinking specifically about the red thread or the kind where you are born with a certain mark on the spot your soulmate is supposed to touch you first. Auroras wanderlust and desire to find her other half is much stronger because she now has something physical that tells her he is indeed out there... Far away from her aunts' cottage. Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather found out who Auroras soulmate was destined to be on her christening day and didn't have the heart to tell the King and Queen. They had hoped that they could somehow change their goddaughters' fate, and every day they fear the Horned King will come knocking on their door in search of his soulmate. Although he continues to search for the cauldron, he is perplexed at how his own mark/thread has suddenly come to life. He never believed in those fairy tales of soulmates, and yet his supposed bride was close and searching for him. Some nights he pondered who she could be, and if she knew she would be by his side commanding the army of the dead.

I'm not too sure of this one, but how could it not be mentioned? Beauty and the Beast AU where The Horned King actually takes over the kingdom Auroras parents rule over. He intends to behead them, but the princess begs him to spare their lives... If he so wished to take life, then take hers and let her mother and father go. The Horned King looks down at Aurora, his eyes narrowing at her thinly hidden fear as she stands before him... The king doesn't have a curse to break like Beast, so I'm unsure of how this would go. But this ship dynamic wouldn't be complete without this idea.

I hope im not the only one who is intrigued by this idea ^^

I LOVE your reply to my gift, and I'll respond to it properly later ^^ but I realized I left out something.

Since Poppy and Shiny have basically adopted the toon twins, how do you think the weasels would go about earning THEIR approval? Especially Shiny since she's stubborn and knows what kind of games to look out for. Poppy is more... not necessarily convincing, but she's sweeter; easier to manipulate, and she isn't the best at standing up for herself. Would their tactics change depending on which aunt they're talking to? What would they do if Shiny and/or Poppy said no?

The weasels are gonna be really surprised when they find out the Golden Girls’ connections to the twins. Poppy and Shiny…adopted them? They’re family now? 🥺 Even Smartass’s gotta admit, he didn’t see that one coming! This is quite a surprise, but he’s gotta respect Toonz for having a good head on his shoulders. Plus, they’re wonderful aunties! 🥰 How would the guys go about earning THEIR approval? Ooh, I love this new challenge! 😍😍😍 Hmm…I think their tactics would change, depending on their how their efforts to earn approval from each aunt would turn out 🤔

Shiny

That’s true, she is quite stubborn 😆 And the boys know this, so their tactics rely on strong determination and hard work. In fact, they’re even more determined since last time didn’t work (for the other four, I mean 🤣).      

For Smartass, I think his main tactic is arranging a meeting with her like he did with Tom. Whether it’s at the office or the nightclub Shiny now owns, she decides. If she wants to have the meeting at Headquarters, she’s going to notice that the office is…tidier than it was the last time she visited there. The tan-painted walls that were once tarnished with cracks had a fresh new coat of paint while the windows didn’t have a single bullet hole, and the whole waiting lobby/living room is decorated with new, elegant furniture the boys stole – I mean, bought 😅 “So, you want to…increase your influence all around Toontown in hopes of better protection for Twyla?”

“Yeah, all around. Uptown may be a better district than tha’ one here, but you and I both know there’s always some douchebags in there who want ‘ta start shit with Twyla. And with all tha’ connections I’ve got, I can make things so much better for her! Listen, I know I ain’t exactly got a....squeaky-clean record. But trust me, I can be the guy Twyla needs! I can give her anything and everything she wants.”           

Greasy’s practically sweating bullets here 😅 “Hold up. You…and Twyla?” “Sí. And why not? Twyla is my moon and stars, and I am her brave knight in shining jade armor! I know you and Poppy want someone who can protect her, and believe me, I am more than capable of doing so. I would do anything for Twyla. Every second of my life is devoted to her, and I spend every one of them ensuring her happiness. The moment our eyes met, it was love at first sight.” “Hmm…I’ve got my eyes on you, Rodriguez.” Yeah, he’s most likely gonna get watched like a hawk 😂 But he’s determined to win, so he’s going to win approval from his Lupita’s tough tía by performing some of his famous – and most daring – skills. La Verdadera Destreza, a Spanish tradition of fencing that originated in 16th-century Spain that was taught in Greasy’s family for generations. Not only does he excel at this, but he also challenges himself by adding creative and dangerous obstacles. Since Tom dared to choose our sweet potato over him (lmao, Greasy was so mad 😂🤣😂), he’s going to take the opportunity to make his latest performance into something incredibly complex. Hell, he’ll even go as far as taking on 10,000 other swordfighters while he’s blindfolded and doing a war dance like all weasels do! I give you and @just-kit-ink plenty of credit for that fun fact 😁👍

“Wait…you’re doing this blindfolded?! 😨 Greasy, are you sure you’re gonna be OK?”

“Lupita, mi amor, I assure you I’m going to be just fine 👍 And please have Tom on the seat next to Shiny, perhaps this will change his mind.” 

Wheezy’s got a few aces up his sleeve too, and he knows exactly how to convince Shiny to choose him. She wants her niece to be with someone who knows how to take care of her, someone who also has common sense. Well, don't worry, Shiny! 😁 Wheezy is just the right guy, and he has all the qualifications! Plus, he’s saner oh please, he’s just as crazy as the rest of them 😆. And who would be better than a medic? Lol, I’m just imagining the look on her face when he tells her this 🤣🤣🤣 “So…you’re a doctor too? 🤨” “Mm-hmm. I know, I know. I smoke 24/7, and I got more packs of Marlboros than all of those Hot Wheels toy car collections. But believe me, I’m much better for Twyla. I’ve learned medicine since I was a kid, and I’ve practiced a lot growin’ up. I know that she’s got her own medic and I hear he’s real good but hear me out. Having two doctors around can make things so much easier whenever shit hits the fan, plus the twins often drive around in those motorcycles of theirs.”    

“……. So, you’re a doctor too? 🤨”      

Psycho’s as fierce as he is silly and…well, Psycho 🤣 His tactic of choice is keeping Twyla safe whenever Tom’s not around. Like for example, he, his Twy-Lala and Shiny are out and about in Uptown and decide to take a little lunch break at one of the local restaurants. They’re just chilling and having a great time…when Shiny and Psycho notice that some of the other customers are making fun of Twyla and pointing at her (those bastards 💢). Shiny doesn’t even have to say a word, Psycho understands the assignment. He’ll sneak off into the breakroom, yoink an extra uniform and plot their horrific, gruesome demise politely deliver their order.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!! THE CRAB’S PINCHING MY HAND!!!!!!!”

“Good job, Psycho.”

If Stupid has already won Tom’s approval, he’s for sure going to win Shiny’s too! 😁👍 Since I mentioned that Twyla’s been teaching him about halfie Toons, Stu’s gonna share all these fun facts with Shiny and he’s super excited about what Twyla’s been teaching him. “So, they’re both great swimmers, huh?” “Yup! Not only that, but they’re both really fast! Their speed may be different since minks are more versatile when it comes to water and trees while wolves often sprint speeds up to 40 miles per hour, but trust me, I’ve seen them run fast enough to make a cheetah green with envy! I bet they can even win a race against Speedy and Roadrunner!”   

It’s quite a surprise for Shiny and her wife to learn that these guys, the most feared weasel gang in Toontown are head over heels for their spooky cinnamon roll. So, she’s gonna keep a very close eye on them. Especially when she starts to…notice other things. During the meeting, she sees that Smartass’s got quite a couple of picture frames on his desk. And they all have photos of Twyla. While they’re pretty romantic, she’ll get a strange vibe of how Smartass has more than one photo of her. Not only that, but she’ll get the same vibe from the others too. Like, if she’s at the flower shop, Greasy’s there looking for roses…which happens to one be of Twyla’s favorite flowers. Or that Wheezy’s relaxing while reading Edgar Allan Poe…who is one of Twyla’s favorite authors. And Psycho, who’s already a little strange himself, is napping on the couch with his crescent moon pillows…which are kinda similar to the ones Twyla has 🌙

Poppy

You might wanna wish her good luck 😅👍 She’s not ready for the boys’ Yandere shenanigans either XD For this lovely seamstress, the weasels’ tactics would mostly consist of proving their commitment through actions like doing tasks for Twyla whenever Poppy and/or Shiny are around.

Of course, Smartass is gonna invite her to the meeting too! He knows she’s got a lot of questions as well, and he’s more than ready to answer them after spending weeks practicing and rehearsing how this meeting would go. Besides that, another tactic I think he’d also have is supporting her wonderful ideas in sewing outfits for Twyla (she absolutely loves her new scarf, by the way! ^^)! 😊 He’ll give plenty of encouraging feedback for what Poppy has in mind, and he’ll even add helpful tips!

“So, you really think she’ll love this bolero?”

“Absolutely ‘positivity’ (positively)! Most outfits she wears for spring and summer are cute and comfortable, but she likes a touch of elegance like tha’ classy dame she is. I know how much she loves her biker jacket, but she needs a little change of wardrobe now that ‘tha flowers are bloomin’. Trust me, Pops, she’s gonna love your World Goth Day gift.”

“Merci. Wait, how do you know Twyla celebrates World Goth Day?”

“Uh….”  

Greasy is a man of many talents, and cooking is one of them! 🍳 Poppy will find him outside in the backyard over an open fire, working harder than usual and putting a lot of effort into Twyla’s meal…while he’s got other meals prepared all over the table. He’s a very talented chef, and every dish he prepares is a masterpiece. “Are you…making lunch?” “Sí! My princess certainly enjoys my lechón asado, and I am more than happy to be her humble chef!” “That’s very sweet, but aren’t you working a little too hard? It looks like you’re turning lunch into a whole buffet table." “Oh! Well, what can I say? A proper gentleman must ensure his soulmate enjoys a wonderful meal. You and Shiny are more than welcome to try my other creations too, if you want some!”   

Since Wheezy’s also a doctor, he’s gonna try winning Poppy’s approval by proving his medical experience as he did with Shiny and knowing that someone in the boogle can treat serious injuries will surely earn him Poppy’s five gold stars, especially if, God forbid, something happens to Twyla again. “Wait, you’re a doctor too? I didn’t know that!” “Yeah, well, if you’re gonna be part of a gang with those three bloody lunatics, you gotta learn how t’be good with medicine. Which is why I can do a much better job caring for Twyla, and not just as a doctor or a work husband." “Well…you do have a fair point – Hold on 👁👁” However, like with Smartass, I imagine what Wheezy would also do to prove himself is stay close to Twyla when they go horseback riding! 🐎 As a cowboy, he is excellent with horses and knows how to earn their trust. I’m not sure if Poppy’s ever done horseback riding before, but Wheezy and Twyla will help and show her that riding a horse is an incredible experience! And it’s gonna be quite an experience for Wheezy as well…since the horses Poppy and Twyla have won’t get up because they want more cuddles 🥰 And while Wheezy’s back is turned, the entire herd has joined 😂😂😂

“All right, ladies. You ready for another ride – Oh, you’ve got t’be kiddin’ me.”

“Sorry, Wheezy! 😅 We tried telling them to get up, but…”

“They gave us the puppy eyes. How could we say no these majestic creatures? 🥺”

“….” *glances at the horses* “It’s been 10 minutes 😑 Give me back my woman.”

Like the other three, Psycho’s got a few tricks of his own. Poppy often looks after his Twy-Lala by stopping by and bringing her own home-made cooking, which gives Psycho a few ideas of how he’ll win the sweet-natured doe’s approval. And he’ll start by doing something that absolutely does not match his name; be on his best behavior. No stealing sweets from the coffee shop, no juggling-gone-wrong-that-blew-up-Headquarters incidents, nothing. When the time has come to earn Auntie Poppy’s blessing, Psycho is going to be calm like a relaxed puppy…who really wants to be as close to Twyla as possible.

“Twyla, the tea is almost ready. Could you pass me the mugs, please?”

*pops out of Twyla’s hair holding three mugs* “Here you go!”

“Merci, Psycho. Wait –?! 👁👁”

I’m absolutely cracking up over your hilarious idea of Tom catching Psycho on camera!!! 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂 And now it’s my turn to make you laugh 😆

“Poppy, you gotta believe me. Psycho’s trying to play his game with you like he did with me, and I’ve got proof – Wait. Where’s my phone?”

*glances towards the window and sees this little guy waving hello while holding Tom’s phone* “….Be right back, I’m gonna go open the window. It’s getting kinda warm in here.” *walks over the window, unlocks it*

“PSYCHO!!!! GIVE ME BACK MY GODDAMN PHONE!!!! 💢💢💢”

I think like with Shiny and Tom, Stupid just wants to hang out with Poppy 😊 All he wants is to enjoy a nice, relaxing day with Twy-Twy’s aunts. Twyla also enjoys teaching him how to create art, so this sweet potato’s eager to show Poppy all of his projects! “OK, you ready?” “Yes! I’m curious to see what you’ve created – Oh, mon Dieu! You can make art out of food?! 🤩 I love the colors and details! And are these grapes Twyla’s eyes? This is gorgeous! Shiny, come here! You’ve got to see this beautiful artwork!”

Just like Shiny, Poppy will pick up on the boys’ odd affection. Like, if they’re having Twyla and Greasy over for lunch, Poppy’s going to notice the gangster’s behavior. Usually, when he’s in the presence of women, he’s obviously trying to flirt with them which ends in either an eyeroll, a purse smack on the head, or a kick in the batteries. But with Twyla…he doesn’t remove his gaze from her even while he’s eating. Tiny hearts are popping around his head 💞, his eyes full of nothing but love and obsession adoration as she takes a bite of her meal or partakes in her aunties’ conversations. Sometimes, he’ll even imitate her pace though he’ll gently remind her to slow down and drink some water. If Shiny or Poppy ask him something, he’ll give a few replies here and there, but other than that, he’s so quiet it’s completely out of character.

Neither of them knows what’s going on, but what they do know is that there’s something different about the boys. Something has….changed.

What would they do if the ladies said no?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, boy. The guys would be…conflicted 😅 On one hand, they’d know why. Now that they’re a part of their darling’s family, it’s very understandable for Shiny and Poppy to be protective of her. They wouldn’t admit it out loud, but they’re pretty relieved that Twyla’s entrusted in the care of people they know and trust. Toonz’s a great older brother and they’ve seen his fierce protectiveness first-hand, Poppy’s an absolute sweetheart who makes the best Tupperware meals, and Shiny’s very capable of handling a gun. Or should I say, shotgun? 😆

With these queens in Toonz’s crew, this makes the weasels’ job protecting Twyla a lot easier. On the other hand….they won’t give up. Even though they respect Tom and his aunties, their love for Twyla is matched by their own stubbornness. The moment they fell for her, she is theirs forever. A day without her in their lives, in their arms where she belongs, is torture. They cherish every single moment they share with her, yet they long for more. Hell, they’ve even started planning their own weddings! They have no intention of letting her go, not even Greasy.

“Let her go? Oh, Shiny and Poppy, my dear ladies…….I can’t do that. I’ll never let her go. Never again.”

Note: ... how is it over a month already? 🫩🫩🫩 oh lord I have so much to catch up on. Im so sorry this took so long I genuinely forgot about this for... However long its been 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ i hope this makes up for it!

Oooooh this is better than I expected!

Shiny and Poppy are both protective, but I feel like in different ways? Like for example, if their kids tripped at the park and scraped their knee, Poppy would be their in a second soothing her child and applying a bandaid. Shiny would be the mom/aunt that says "Is it bleeding? Anything broken? Then get back up and get back on the monkey bars!" So it may not look like she's protective, but in her line of work she knows creeps are around every corner and wouldn't be so ready to let her kid go to some kids house if she doesn't know the parents already. I hope this makes sense?

Shiny definitely a protective aunt. And in Twylas case, she knows how slimy people can be. Poppy though has more experience with dating and having to deal with a person who is supposed to care about you but takes advantage of you instead. Shiny chose to be single for a long while, Poppy (or Greasy in the Griny AU) was the one person who made her want to try dating. So Poppy is more prepared to give dating and romantic advice while Shiny is better suited for how to steer clear of the nasties at the bar or tell if someone is paying a little too close to your drink.

For Shiny, first impressions are V E R Y important. She's stubborn and if she's given any reason to dislike someone, she'll hang onto that for a long time, while Poppy tries to be more optimistic in people, but she is also a cautious soul. With that in mind...

Shiny

Shiny is somehow the big sister who messes with her younger siblings, while simultaneously being the little sister who goes out of her way to annoy her big siblings knowing she won't get in trouble XD either way, she knows how to get under Smartass' skin however she wants. She's seen him like a little brother for so long actually (which is funny considering that when I was first figuring out Shiny's character, she was actually intended to be Stupids and Snartass' sister by blood. Get it, they're the S siblings? 😅 but thats a can of worms for another day). Because of that, Smartass has a bit of an advantage since he knows her well. Or at least enough to know that he basically only has one shot at convincing Twylas adoptive aunt that he's the best match for her.

She hears that he wants a meeting, Shiny knows that this is either over something really silly, or its very serious. No in between. Kinda like HR meetings in customer service. Usually she's inclined to assume the former, but considering how these guys have been paying close attention to Twyla, she's got a gut feeling that its the latter. She tells him that they'll have the meeting in her house while Poppy is out grocery shopping- its her home advantage. And she wears high heels too, just in case things get ugly and she needs a projectile. If Smartass knows her enough, je cam see the signs that she's already got her eye on him. So he better not mess it up.

Greasy, you gotta try a teeny tiiiny bit harder with Shiny... Because she knows how creepy you are- hell, she was on the receiving end of your perversion when you guys met (man I need to write Shiny's first meeting with everyone so bad. Poppy's too). Yeah, he's one of the few people who got Shiny to change her view on him in a positive way, but she is still very well aware about how much of a wannabe playboy he is. And in this AU, Popshine reigns supreme, so Shiny has zero obligation to assume the best in Greasy 😅😅😅

Oh Greasy, you wanna impress Shiny with sword fighting??? Then fight HER 😈😈😈 she may not be skilled in sword fighting specifically. But she knows how to fight, she knows how to be adaptable and use the cards she's been dealt with, she has a crowbar that she loves to use (which would be Shiny's weapon of choice if she was a Toon Patrol member. Its a tool and a melee weapon! And could be a projectile if need be! XD) and she does not fight fair. Your cojones will be at great risk, my guy... But this is probably your best chance at persuading this aunt, soooo.... Good luck! 👍👍👍 Tom, get a front row seat!

She's looking this guy up and down, this same weasel who smokes like its an oxygen tank, whose clothes are messy as hell, and is the one in the group who carries the giant fricking Tommy gun everywhere. "... Yeah, you're gonna have to show me a license or something Cowboy, 'cause I'm not buying it." Either way though? Sure he's a doctor... but does TWYLA want him? She's gonna remind Wheezy- and all the others- that its not just about her approval, its about whether or not Twyla wants him back, "And if she says no, then you better not try to preassure her or stalk her. I'll know if you do."

🤭🤭🤭 honestly the more I think about Shiny and Psycho's dynamic, the more they really act like siblings in my head. I wanna post about Shiny adopting Psycho as her little brother and she and Psycho are the chaotic duo that Smartass has to put a leash on all the time (its like that meme of the dad wrangling two kids on backpack leashes XD). So surprisingly he may get her vote. Crazy understands crazy.

But at the same time, sometimes she forgets that Psycho is... Genuinely psycho. In the Pocho AU, she is just as stunned as Poppy is the first time Psycho left a dead bird on her doorstep as a gift (im sorry, im convinced that Psycho acts like a cat in that he will proudly show off his kills and bring little dead things into the house. I know hes a weasel, not a cat, but cats are all I know and to me its kinda cute because cats doing this is them trying to feed you like you're a kitten learning how to hunt. Obviously its not as cute with someone like Psycho 😅 but im getting carried away). I'm imagining Twyla tells Shiny things that Shiny immediately clocks as Psycho's doing and shes like "Oh... Oh no... I gotta have a talk with him..."

Oh... oh my goodness, my heart, Stu 🥺 how can anyone NOT love him? Shiny lets Stupid info dump about halfie toons, and when she finds an opening she's happy to share that she herself is a halfie and what that means for her, "Here! Go ahead, grab me by the nape. You see how my skin loosens up? I can twist around to face you. Also, haven't you noticed how different my teeth are? I get it from my dads side."

Honestly she might forget they were even talking about Twyla before. Its really nice to see Stupid has nothing against halfie toons ^^ she's been betrayed by friends in the past before when they found out about her mixed heritage before, so this is genuinely touching to her.

Poppy

Oh boy 😅 she isn't ready for the boys' shenanigans- both regarding Twyla, and trying to win her approval. Although Smartass did invite her to the meeting, Shiny purposefully keot her wife out of it as a way to test Smartass (like how differently would he act if its just them? Now that Poppy isn't around to try to offer positivity to the equation?). So Poppy is unaware of that 😅

But she does often bring work home, or just personal projects of hers. So Smartass definitely can just drop by for a visit and offer his advice in that department. But she'll see that as a friendly visit, so he may have to make it a bit more obvious that its for Twyla... Either that or this leads to the 'ol toon misunderstanding where they say things to each other assuming they're talking about the same thing, but it leads to horrible consequences 😅

Poppy enjoys cooking with Greasy, so its a good area for him to attempt to seek her approval... But I'm just picturing them making lunch together, and she's noticing exactly how much they're making and its cracking me up XD "Uh- how many are we having for lunch?"

"Oh, its just Twyla. And of course you and your wife if you two wish to stay."

Also Greasy and sword fighting?... Poppy never did get a role in cinema where she was holding the sword, but seeing him sword fighting kinda makes her want to learn. Sounds like a date night idea for her and Shiny (👀 you like Greasypop right? Imagine if he taught her how to sword fight? Wait, sword fighting date with Greasy and Twyla??). But she's also wondering if this is really necessary? 😅 it just comes off very strong to her. She's a bit uneased, but she's trying to be nice.

Poppy has really REALLY wanted to meet a horse irl and go horseback riding. So she is just- all for this. She's the kind of person who visits the farm and ends up with an animal laying on them and taking a nap, and she refuses to move 🤭😂 that is how she and Shiny got their horse son. She was the chosen bed for their new son, so they had to adopt him. Thank you Wheezy for taking them out here. This better not be a manipulative tactic of yours, or else Shiny will train their son to kick you everytime he sees you.

Also just- yes. Yes to Poppy and Twyla accepting their fates as horse beds XD they both are perfect as fur moms... Granted Poppy's kind of fur baby has eight legs, but still. It counts XD

🤭🤭🤭 oh my lord I love Poppy and Psycho's dynamic. Two sides of the same horror toon coin. They just click, platonically or romantically. Poppy would be a little surprised to see Psycho pop out of Twylas hair, but she just shrugs. Its just another Tuesday with the weasel, "Twyla, you should have told me you were bringing a friend! Good thing I decided to make coffee cake to go with this tea ^^"

She tells herself she's being paranoid with Stupid- or anyone here, really. Her instincts tells her to be worried, but surely its just her anxiety, right??

Shiny is better at keeping the boys away from Twyla, while Poppy is better at gathering intel- she was a former actress, after all. If she really had to, she could easily pretend she's on the weasels' side and pay close attention for anything they may reveal... no reason to mention this, whatsoever 👀👀👀

Since Simon is depicted as a teenager that just hit puberty (im assuming thats what that 'new hair' and the right of passage meant), I see him being 12, 13 by the episode that they almost move back home. And Barry i see being 8-9. And if Wolf is 45, that would mean he would have been 32 when Simon was born 🤔 he could have been younger, though. Depending on when he met his ex wife.

As for Fox, we know he must be the same, if not close to, age as Rabbit since they ran as School President against each other. That doesn't really tell us much unfortunately 😅 though Lucy is 9, and I think Rabbit did end up becoming a young dad (so that on top of his wifes death may be why he's not the best father figure). Rabbit did say he had a few gray hairs in his birthday episode, but that can be due to the stress of being hunted on a daily basis and having to figure out how to be a single father. So... I think Rabbit had Lucy at 23, making him 32 now. And since Fox is close to his age, that would land him in his early 30's too.

So I think thats my HC for their ages. Fox is in his 30's, and Wolf is in his 40's, unless more clues come out for their ages. Not necessarily OLD old. But they're not High School Anime Yaoi lol

First off, how has anyone NOT talked about this?!? Fox and Wolf going on a biker date!? Or Elvis having a garage with various tools and offering to fix up vehicles around the village for extra money?

Secondly, angst; my headcannon as to why Wolf doesn't have his bike in Britain is because he sold it before he and his boys moved. It was a custom bike that he fixed up himself and was very proud of, and possibly the one thing that his pack actually envied about him. His father gave him just enough money to move to the sleepy village, but Elvis knew that his boys would need beds and food in the new house (especially if the pack didn't even allow Wolf to come back and pack up their things properly, which explains why he and his sons only have backpacks like they're going camping). So he sold his bike for as much as he could so Simon and Berry wouldn't have to sleep on floors hungry 🥺

Then later when Edward hears about what happened, he uses his resources to track down the owner of the bike, buy it back, and gift it to his hubby on his birthday 🥺

Don't Eat the Neighbors OC's

Katie Mouse and her son Jerry Mouse

TW for family neglect, deadbeat dads, and (rodent) discrimination,

She comes from a big family from America. She's the middle child of three siblings, too young to be taken seriously but too old where she's expected to look out for herself. Its not necessarily that her family was abusive... But her parents never seemed to see her past the shadows of her older brother nor the shine of her baby sister. Especially after her brother became an aspiring musician and her sister an airplane pilot. As such, Katie learned to never rely on them. Its part of why she seems unbothered at all at the idea of moving out of the country all the way to Britain.

She had found an interesting in baking and decided to attend culinary school. During those days she actually met another mouse named Nolan and they clicked. She'll never admit it now, but back then she was quick to picture a life together with him... Then she got pregnant, and he got very squirrelly whenever they talked about the future. Then sometime after Jerry's birth, Nolan dropped the bomb on her that he can't be a dad, that this wasn't how he pictured his life, etc. The money he insisted he was saving up to buy her a proper engagement ring was actually going towards an RV so he could travel around the world...

She made sure he couldn't have any more kids before he stumbled out of the apartment clutching his 'family jewels'.

If it weren't for the fact that she needed the support, she honestly would contest the monthly child support. She wants nothing to do with Nolan. Her family promised to help out... And that lasted for a year or two before they started drifting away once again, "You're so strong, you can figure it out." They said before directing their attention back to her two siblings.

She found out about the quiet village out in Britain that accepts all animals from all walks of life from an old high school friend returning from her travels. Katie wanted to start fresh where no one saw her as the pitiful new mom But by the time Jerry was five, she saved up enough to move across the world and start her own bakery in the same town the show takes place in. She didn't disappear on everyone. She told Nolan and her folks where she was going. Hell she even gives them her exact address for Jerry's sake. Even though Nolan has proven by now that every holiday and birthday, all he intends to do is give Jerry a post card from wherever he's at with a "Sorry champ, maybe next time."

Katie tries her hardest for Jerry, lying with a smile that she knows his dad will keep his promise. (She has to remain positive for her baby. She can't let Jerry see how much she wants to cry everytime she tells him Daddy couldn't make it.) But already Jerry has stopped believing the postcards. He's not too sure of himself like Lucy, Barry or Simon are, and he actually envies how they all have their dads. But these three, especially Simon, are the only other kids that Jerry feels like he can open up to.

And that is why Katie is willing to try to get along with Wolf (and Fox since hes a stepdad). She's not dumb, she knows she should be careful around the recently exiled wolf and the so-rich-he-can-get-away-with-murder fox in town. But Simon and Barry are sweethearts that don't avoid Jerry because he's a mouse or think he's too weird because he's quiet; if Wolf doesn't try to hurt her or her son, then she'll happily cook up a fish dinner and invite the pack for a play date.

Random tid-bits:

Irl, rodents are seen as dirty pests. What if the same was true in this universe? I was thinking Katie and her family have been judged just for being mice. Katie has developed a paranoia of coming off as messy or carrying a stench with her- she can't entirely avoid it since she us a baker, but she keeps everything as clean as possible, and she has a portable bottle of perfume and hand sanitizer just for this reason. She would be like Fox and his worries about his weight, "Do I smell? Be honest with me."

Speaking of which; her and Jerry live upstairs the bakery. She'll be downstairs at 5 in the morning while Jerry is sleeping, customers can sometimes hear a toddler scampering around upstairs with his friends, etc.

I'm not sure what state Katie is from. But for sone reason Ohio is popping out to me? I'm not sure why, I know nothing about Ohio 😅 but I can't imagine her saying any other state when talking about her home.

Jerry LOVES dinosaurs. He has a t-rex plushy instead of a teddy bear, he inspects rocks for any sign of fossils, and he can name so many dinosaurs off the top of his head. His most favorite is the brontosaurus- and lucky for Katie, thats an easy shape for her to bake for his birthday ^^ If Jerry comes inside Wolfs' house, he will run straight up to his crystal dinosaur collection with stars in his eyes (I know Wolf would see mice as snacks, but PLEASE I NEED Wolf to go into dad mode and bond with Jerry over dinosaurs 🥺🥺🥺 guys, you've been in the fandon longer than me. Would this happen??)

Wolf and Rabbit have their own problems with parenting. Katie is the same; she tries so hard to be positive for her baby and doesn't realize how destructive it really is. "No, no sweetie! Mommy doesn't get upset! I just really, really like showers and lose track of time. Silly mommy, haha." Basically imagine Mr. Peanutbutter from Bojack.

Oh and she has a metal bat that she WILL use on any predators that break into her home. Her family lived near a den of cats, she knows how this goes. She'll happily be a friendly neighbor, but she is ready to defend her home, "You got two choices, Fox. You can walk away, or you can stumble back to Wolf and explain where you got your concussion from. Whats it gonna be?"

Also, Katie has zero gaydar. She's not homophobic at all! And she's not dim otherwise... But she wouldn't be able to tell Fox was gay (or pan? I saw an account suggest that 🤔) if her life depended on it 😭 "What? No, just because he likes fancy clothes doesn't mean he's gay! And can't a guy love his friends without others making it weird? Fox is always talking about his roguish and dashing friend, about hiw strong he... He is, and... And he practically lives in Wolfs' house.... Oh my god they ARE married."

One last thing; Katie and Jerry aren't as small as real mice, like Fieldmouse from the Vote for Lucy Episode. In story, idk how Katie got to be around the same height as the rest of the cast- I thought of her and Jerry before I watched Vote for Lucy and I was already too attached to her being a mouse to change anything 😅 she has no idea how she towers over Fieldmouse and his family, we may never know. (Though I imagine Katie would still be the shortest neighbor if she stood next to everyone... Yes this show doesn't follow realistic size proportions, but how can I resist the thought of the second smallest adult being the one ready to throw hands and offer concussions with her bat? XD)

Miss Bat

Trust me guys, Miss Bat is not as cute as this gif. She's related to Fox after all.

Wolf was surprised to hear Fox had a relative in the area, one he cares about so much that he actually tends to her fruit garden while she's away. And he was even more shocked the night Miss Bat returned home, and he saw that she was a flying fox. She was intimidating at first, with her size and leathery wings. But she welcomed him and his boys into the family with a smile before offering some geese she flew into on her way home.

Its not long before Wolf finds out Miss Bat is fully aware of her cousin's hunting. In fact, she helps him out; Miss Bat is often Fox's alibi while offering new targets, and vice versa.

How do you think her trees and bushes grow such vibrant and juicy fruit? Especially since she's almost always traveling for her photography career? Fox is worried about his figure, so when he needs to rid his freezer of evidence, he oh so generously donates it all to his cousin as fresh mulch for her garden. Isn't that generous of him?

Miss Bat isn't as developed as Katie, so I dont have too much on her. The rest I'll put into bullet points.

Her name is Naomi, but only those who are close to her are allowed to call her by name. Also yes, she is indeed a flying fox bat. Yes I know irl bats arent related to foxes at all, but if this show can have interspecies marriage then who knows! And besides, Fox being rekated to a flying fox? C'mon I had to do it Maybe Fox does have bat in him. However I'm also considering that Naomi was adopted into the fox family. I haven't quite figured out how they're related tbh. (I also have a really angsty idea that involves Naomi having been stuck in a freak show when she was young, seen as a freakishly amalgamation of mammal and bird. She ran away and just so happened to find a young Fox and his mother who took her in. It would explain why she doesn't care too much for people.)

And yes, although she has access to the family fortune, Miss Bat is still working. She travels all over the world, often flying herself all over Europe, and gets commissioned by many due to her talents with a camera. Wolf has seen her work in magazines before without even realizing it, and Fox can tell at a glance whether or not Naomi shot the photo.

Speaking of which; Fox and Bat act like they don't like each other. But they are each others' alibis for a reason. "If we weren't related, I would have cooked you up in a stew long ago." // "How quaint. I would have buried you beneath my apple tree by now if you weren't my cousin."

She does develop a soft spot for Simon and Barry (and Jerry if she gets with his mom *cough*). Even if she did refer to them as 'little monsters' upon first meeting them 😅 it comes from a place of affection i promise. After meeting her, the boys are convinced that she's a vampire, and as such their new dad must be a vampire too... Miss Bat is totally not planning as dressing up as a vampire for Halloween to scare her nephews.

So I was surprised that insects are also sentient in this universe. And a dark thought occurred to me that I'm debating making canon... What if Naomi is on lovely terms with the grubs and bugs in her garden because of what she burries in the ground? O_O all the worms, ants and beetles benefit from her wicked gardening secret, so why should they tell anyone what Miss Bat is up to at night?

BTW, because her fruit is impeccable, she is banned from the annual jam making competition 😅 and so is her fruit. Her fruit is an unfair advantage in competitions like that. She takes no offense, though. The judges all basically admit she's the best by banning her, right?

Also, complete lesbian. She and Fox are the wlw and the mlm team that judge your sense of fashion at the club... And Fox 'borrowed' her trench coat while disguised as the nanny in episode 3 "Is that MY dress?" // "Eugh... Give me a few hours, and you'll have this back good as new."

Victoria Hedgehog

My final OC, Victoria. I just made her up yesterday so she isn't so developed either 😅 but I have to share her. However, TW for mentioned animal death and tbe fister system. Her backstory (so far) isn't so happy.

Victoria wasn't always her name. She used to be called Micheal, and it wasn't until she was 16-18 did she come out of the closet... But there was a problem.

She was dating Edward Fox at the time. They weren't necessarily public, but everyone in school knew- heck they probably suspected with how Victoria followed Fox around all the time. However, either way, Victoria knew that this would change everything and was scared of losing someone who felt like her only friend.

But Fox had his own suspicions. He noticed the way she completely changed when he offered her a dress from his wardrobe, and how uncomfortable she was whenever anyone pointed out her gender in some way. She was taking too long to just tell him however and one night he just asked her if she would rather be a woman. After a few minutes of her stumbling over her words (and some sprinkled in assurances that it was just them, if she wasn't ready for everyone in town to know yet) before she confirmed what he knew for a while.

"I still love you. I really do... But I know you prefer boys, so... Can we at least continue to be friends?" She was so anxious while asking Fox something he thought was such a ridiculous question. Of course they can still be friends- she's the only other person in this village that he actually likes. He and Victoria are still in contact to this day.

Alrighty, now the random tidbits ^^ some of these aren't set in stone though, more like musings. I would love to hear feedback if anyone is interested!

What is set in stone though? Victoria has thick glasses. She's so blind 😅 she would be just like Velma when she loses her glasses. Also, she works in the city these days. Fox encouraged her to seek her own path outside the village not for his own gain, of course. What would he gain from Victoria being so far away that she can't hear about the dreadful rumors of him eating people? and now she is a university historian teacher. Fox often goes to visit her, but in the summer when school is out Victoria visits him. And his neighbors all notice how well behaved Fox is during her stay.

Fox was definitely a big help in Victoria findibg her identity. And since he is a millionaire, maybe he even paid for her surgeries? 🥺 granted he is a scummy Fox, considering how he didn't offer any money when Wolf thought his sons were kidnapped... But Victoria is a teacher and they don't exactly have the best salaries, and she is his oldest friend. C'mon, Fox! Help the hedgehog! 🥺🥺🥺

I want to think that Victoria was the first person who taught Fox how to care for others 🥺 at first he only approached her in school because he assumed she would be the perfect practice target until he could catch that annoying Rabbit. But he quickly found out how useful she was when she convinced herself they were friends; she would carry his books for him, make excuses for him to the faculty, etc... She was kinda like the Veronica to his Heather at first. Then he started catching genuine feelings for her sometime before she offered him a valentine, and it all snowballed from there.

So yeah, similar to Wolf, Fox didn't treat her the best at first. Victoria however clung to her charming 'friend' since he genuinely was all that he had at the time... After her parents' death and six years in and out of the foster system, Fox's sly charisma left her feeling not so lonely anymore. She developed a crush on Edward quickly, but she was just happy to be his friend.

The major dark idea i had... considering Fox's family, I was thinking maybe his mother was the one that killed Victoria's parents 😰 she was the one who cooked them up for her and her son and inadvertently sent Victoria to the orphanage. Fox puts two and two together when Victoria tells him what happened, and its like the scene in Brother Bear where Kenai finds out he killed Koda's mother... But unlike Kenai, Fox does not have the integrity to tell his friend/lover why she's an orphan. And he intends to take that secret to his grave... Maybe that's why he felt for poor little Timmy Badger in that one episode. The person closest to him suffered so much when she lost her parents.

I'm not so sure how Fox's mother felt about Victoria? Assuming she was even alive by the time they were dating. Though I have a feeling she didn't quite approve of her son dating a prey animal and mocked their relationship 😥 but Victoria would have absolutely swallowed down every comment just for Fox 🥺 even if this was a house of predators, they gave her hope that she could have a family again.

Also, I'm so sorry Fox x Wolf shippers... But im also thinking of an AU where Edward abd Victoria stay together. I HC that although Fox is homosexual (or heavily leaning toward men), he is demiromantic. And by tbe time Victoria transitioned, he had bonded with her to the point it was hard imagining a life without her. The only reason he agreed to break up originally was because he knew having a prey animal for a spouse one day would make life rather difficult for him. Even if Victoria at that point would do anything for him, would she let murder slide?? But what if Fox did decide to take that risk? What if he and Victoria did get married but simply had an open marriage? They love each other, they are married to each other, but they pursue other lovers since their identities don't mix well (unless Fox is pan/bi in this universe? I still gotta think on that). Fox has a friendly demeanor around town, now having a big reason to pretend he doesn't have recipes on how to cook his neighbors. So instead of a romance between two killers, its a romance between the killer and the final girl.
