Toonami Weekly Recap 08/27/2022

Yashahime: The Second Act EP#29 (05) - The Girl Named Rion: The Half-Demon Princesses learn that Rion had perished six centuries earlier, but had her soul perpetually bound to her father Kirinmaru. With her will to stop Kirinmaru and bring forth the Degenerate Age foretold by the Sacred Tree of Ages, he visited every corner of this world, except for the beyond time and space that the future world Towa she was living in and Kagome originally lived, so Kirinmaru has to find and capture a spirit named Akuru to move the Windmill of Time, that the world of the living will come to an end, Rion sustains her soul within her body. Towa receives the ancient Star-Slicer Flute transforming into the magical sword, Zanseiken. Plus in ancient times, Amatsumikaboshi, the God of Stars, gifted the two swords. With it separated from another twin sword Bakuseiken, the Half-Demon Princesses prepare to confront Kirinmaru and Zero. Sessh?maru kills the dream butterfly, in order for Setsuna to restore her ability to sleep. Riku accompanies Rion, before leaving the girls behind.

Primal Season 2 EP#07 (17) - The Colossaeus, Part I: The Chieftain succumbs to his wounds and awaits the Valkyries to take him to Valhalla, but is instead dragged to Muspelheim by goblin-like creatures and brought before Surtr, who offers to return Eldar's soul in exchange for Spear and Fang's. The Chieftain agrees and is transformed into a fiery being. Meanwhile, Mira, Spear, and Fang set sail to reunite with Mira's people, but encounter a city-sized ship, the Colossaeus, and are boarded by Egyptian warriors. Spear and Mira defeat several of them, but struggle against the 10 ft. warrior Kamau. The ensuing fight leads to one of Fang's eggs being destroyed and the warriors' queen taking the remaining two hostage. Spear and Fang are imprisoned on the Colossaeus alongside Kamau, who is also a slave, while Mira is imprisoned with other females. The queen uses Fang's eggs to force Fang and Spear to join Kamau and her soldiers in laying siege to a Babylonian city. Though reluctant, the pair successfully break through the city gates as the Babylonian king emerges from his palace.

Lupin the 3rd Part 6 EP#18 - Fakes Attract Lies Part 1: Lupin visits the florist shop where Mattea has returned to work, and she explains that she is planning a holiday. Lupin sees a news item about Ms. Hazel, Republic of Cotornica's rising politician who credits her missing private tutor, Tomoe, as the key to her success. Intrigued, Lupin takes his crew Cotornica to investigate and runs into Mattea. Lupin visits Hazel to ask about Tomoe, and while there, they receive a fake video of Hazel being present at the assassination of a captive. Lupin is photographed at her apartment causing a scandal for Hazel. Later, Lupin sees the photographer's vehicle and follows it to a kebab restaurant where he notices some shady characters. He follows them and finds Hazel's associate, Selim, working with a group plotting to discredit her, as Lupin takes all their data. He gives the information to Hazel who warns that he must not approach her again to maintain her reputation, so he leaves the country. Later, Zenigata visits Hazel's apartment and finds her shot dead, but suddenly the local police arrive and arrest him for her murder.

Toonami Weekly Recap 08/20/2022

Yashahime: The Second Act EP#28 (04) - The Barrier at Mount Musubi: Near away from the mountain, Jaken and Sesshomaru learn about the demon girl Rion, who was sealed away for six long centuries. The girls become separated, but Moroha is capable of entering through the spiritual energy shield, due to possessing spiritual powers. Rion wakes up and tells Moroha that she can find Towa and Setsuna, but only if she is willing to release what she is holding. Moroha breaks through with the sacred arrow, and enters the border between the real world and the afterlife, where she recognizes her paternal grandfather. Inuyasha and Kagome Higurashi are shown trapped in the graveyard. He tells her that the fang of his mighty Tessaiga is stirring, because it tries to tell him something important. As the spirit of Moroha continues to hover through there, her scared arrows suddenly become restless and becomes emotional upon glimpsing her parents, whom she recognizes from the picture that S?ta had shown her a few months ago. Kagome and Inuyasha delay their reunion. Meanwhile, Towa hears the voice of Osamu Kirin, who informs her that she must release the past. However, Setsuna is taken to the Sacred Tree of Ages and meets Rin within the unparalleled time-based entity very core. Setsuna recalls how the song she plays her lullaby was a memory that only her body could recall, realizing that she must have learned it from the woman she now sees. The Sacred Tree of Ages asks Setsuna how she felt getting to meet Rin, explaining how Rin has not aged since hidden within it for fourteen years since she gave birth to Towa and Setsuna, which had been aided by the elderly low-level miko Kaede, uppermost-level priestess Kagome Higurashi, and retired master demon-slayer Sango.

Primal Season 2 EP#06 (16) - Vidarr: Mira tends to an injured Spear and Fang while taking their boat up a river. Their rest is short-lived when they are attacked by the Chieftain and Eldar. Mira takes command of the Vikings' ship and the Chieftain abandons the fight to save his son when he is thrown overboard. The trio are forced to dock to repair the ship, during which Spear learns Fang is about to give birth following her time with Red and eagerly helps her prepare. Meanwhile, the Chieftain rescues Eldar and tends to their injuries. That night, his dreams are haunted by an ominous horned figure. The next day, they mount two giant Argentavis to attack the trio. Spear and Mira fight while Fang protects her recently laid eggs. The battle is soon taken to the sky, where Spear knocks the Chieftain off. The latter survives, but witnesses Eldar fall to his death on a river rock. Now left with nothing to fight for, the grieving Chieftain allows himself to be swept away by the river. Spear and Mira use the Argentavis to fly back and reunite with Fang, who allows Spear to approach her eggs.

Lupin the 3rd Part 6 EP#17 - Win or Lose in 0.1 Seconds: Linfeng Wang, a former chief engineer at ICPO, who is completely infatuated with Lupin, has formed Wangtic, a security firm which prides itself on its new "L System", designed to thwart even Lupin's most clever disguises. Wang issues a challenge to Lupin to steal a unique coin, the Flowing Hair Dollar, from her heavily guarded Wangtic headquarters. Lupin accepts, but in order to disable the L System, he and his gang have to shut down its four power supplies at the same. While they rehearse their synchronization for the shutdown, Wangtic runs a high rotation advertising campaign with an annoyingly catchy jingle. Despite their arguments at being unable to be in sync, the crew continue to practice. On the night of the challenge, Lupin arranges for a mass of cosplayers dressed as him and his gang to storm the building, using them as cover to reach the power generators. As Lupin's gang prepares the countdown, Wang jams their communications, but using Wangtic's own jingle's timing as their cue, they succeed in simultaneously shutting down the power and Lupin steals the coin. Lupin pays a final compliment to Wang before he and his gang make their getaway, pursued by an enthusiastic Zenigata who had anticipated Lupin's success.

Toonami Weekly Recap 9/17/2022 (Short Version)

Primal Season 2 EP#10 (20) Finale - Echoes of Eternity: Spear dreams of his first fight as a child when a streak of Smilodon attacked his tribe and killed his father before he killed the beasts and became the new leader. Mira wakes Spear as they arrive at her homeland. She recalls how the Vikings killed her loved ones and enslaved her, and how she fled under cover of a storm. The group makes camp in a cave, where Spear joins Mira in praying to the moon. The next morning, Mira reunites with her Nubian tribe. Her father calls for a celebration that night after which Mira provides shelter for Spear, Fang, and her hatchlings. Spear paints his life story on the walls overnight. The next day, the Chieftain attacks the village, overwhelming Spear and Fang with his newfound fiery powers and shapeshifting ability. After the Chieftain corners them on top of a mountain, Spear tackles the Chieftain off the peak, and is gravely burned and wounded in the process. Surtr drags the Chieftain back to the underworld for failing to kill both Fang and Spear. The village shaman tends to Spear but is unable to help. Spear calls out to Mira, and the two mate. Years later, Fang and her grown-up offspring accompany Mira and her daughter.
