Primary Function: Good Witch

An Owl House/Mega Man AU where Luz is a Robot Master.

In this, Manny was a robotics engineer, and he created Luz as a lab assistant... and a daughter, since he and Camila both wanted kids but just couldn't make it happen. Then Manny died the same way as in canon, causing Luz to not only lose her father, but also her purpose.

Since robots don't really have a reason to go to school (and thus wouldn't get disciplinary action for a book report gone wrong), she's waiting for the bus here because she's landed a summer internship at Light Labs (Camila thought it would be a good idea because not being able to fulfil her primary function has made Luz increasingly listless and chaotic over time).

First episode goes pretty much the way it usually does, right up until the scene where Luz would usually be choosing to stay... because Vee got found out almost immediately since she's very much not a robot, so she, Camila and the Light family are right outside the old shack preparing to rescue the other Basilisks and Luz. Fortunately after both Luz's adventure and the Basilisk situation are explained Camila gives her blessing for Luz's witch apprenticeship and Eda agrees to help the Lights with the Basilisks, though Rock and Roll have to help her around the house and with her businesses same as Luz in exchange.

Also, it turns out that Doctor Wily somehow stumbled into the Demon Realm months ago (along with Treble and a heavily damaged Bass) and got forcibly (and secretly) recruited into the Emperor's Coven. Because that's totally not gonna blow up in Belos's face.

Mega Man robots operate on I, Robot rules (well, really just the First and Zero'th laws. the other two don't seem to apply) and they would almost certainly apply to the various sapient species of the Demon Ream

So how is the Covention duel in PF:GW supposed to work? Even just issuing the challenge in the first place would go against Luz's programing

Oh most definitely.

Especially after the Coven Masters are revealed, since the Abominations-based one will be Very Obviously inspired by their Abomitech, so they'll know for a fact that the two technologies are compatible.

Bile Generators

What, did you think that Wily would encounter actual for-real magic and not find a way to incorporate or emulate it into his tech?

As you might expect, bile generators are artificial Bile Sacs, which allow robots to use magic like witches. There're three iterations of it (well, three that I can mention without spoiling anything important):

BG 1.0

The first working prototype, which mostly just exists as a proof-of-concept. It relies on external sources of magic, so it's useless unless paired with the Basilisk Vac (a Master Weapon that does exactly what you think it does). It also can't mix magic types due to the nine Phlegm Chambers using the Weapon Select program instead of something more personalized and robust.

The only functioning model was installed in a Sniper Joe for field testing purposes, and when testing was done Belos and Wily both decided it'd be best not to waste a potential resource, so the Joe was upgraded to Robot Master level, rechristened the Silver Sniper, and assigned to act as the Golden Guard's partner.

Bile Generator: Coven Model

The version installed in the nine Coven Masters (because we had to have a Robot Master series, it's Mega Man!). These versions can actually generate synthetic Magic Bile on their own, but each only have one of the nine Spell Phlegms, and thus can only use the magic of the Coven that the robot was designed to represent.

BG 2.0

A fully functional artificial Bile Sac with no more weird caveats. Bass is the first robot to get one.
