Aya travels because of a piece of Eden. She learned that one of them is supposed to be in the region, and she needs to find it before the Templars do. That could seem simple, but it’s not. Pieces of Eden are always very well HIDDEN. She needs to talk to important people; she needs to find allies, people who trust her. 

“My apologies.” She starts, a polite smirk on her features. “I’m looking for a library, but I’m new in the region, so I have no idea of where I could find one.”

“It’s winter,” Ben brusquely replied without lifting his head. “Of course they’re cold.”

In truth, he was feeling extra nettled that morning, and no amount of jocularity nor distraction could serve to sway him. If anything, the exuberance in the other man’s tone was only serving to annoy rather than appease; this was no time for playing around like children.

Looking up from his ciphers, Ben frowned and finally dignified the other man with direct eye contact. “Are you already finished with the maps?” he asked. “Or have you been too busy playing in the snow?”

Perhaps it was cruel of him to be so terse. In w.ar, very little p.leasure was gleaned in their day-to-day endeavors, so maybe he should indulge in a bit of cheer. Even so, Ben was of the firm belief that amusements should come only after a day’s hard work, and with so many codes still in need of application, he was a long way’s off from any sort of reprieve.
