(An awesome Galahad cosplayer popped up on my dashboard a couple of days ago and that made me realise I never posted any Spamalot inspired Prince Herbert photos here, just on my Insta. On a side note I really loved wearing this hair and can’t wait to find an excuse to wear it again haha)

Some Modern AU! Herbalot HCs

(('Cause I just rewatched the closing cast boot and have all the feels))

~ Herbert's father owns an investment firm and is fairly wealthy and one day, Herbert's supposed to inherit the kingdom.

~ His mother died when he was 3 or 4. Herbert doesn't like to talk about her because her death was a very slow (yet sudden) and painful one.

~ Herbert goes against his father's wishes and majors in Music in college ( as well as Finance which he hates) l. His father is pissed about the music major but as long as Herbert get a his MBA, right?

~ Wrong. Herbert gets a teaching certificate.

~ That goes even worse than the Music major and with some newfound student loans, Herbert escapes his father's house and goes on to be a substitute Music teacher.

~ Lance was raised by a single mother but his dad came around every one in a while and was typically an ass when he bothered to be a parent.

~ Lance gets a BA in French bc c'est lui. He just really loves the language, okay? And he's really good at it. Now if only he could remember words in English...

~ Lance joins Camelot Entertainment Management Firm, Arthur Penndragon's own empire of nightclubs as a translator. They have an active presence in France but sometimes the licensors can be kinda terrible. Never in his career did Lance think he'd have to tell his boss that "His face looks like a misshapen bar of soap" for not agreeing to taking a smoke break during a Skype meeting. Tres professionnel.

~ Lance owns a Jeep Wrangler and German Shepard. The Jeep is often dirty and the dog thinks she is a lap dog.

~ Somehow they meet. There's a world of meet cute scenarios - in line for a roller coaster, at Disco Nite at a bar called the Copacabana, reaching for the same bag of chips at Walgreen's. But the point is, they get together.

~ Herbert is a cat person and was initially not a fan of the big dog Lance owns but she works his way into his heart.

~ Herbert is a morning person. Lance is not.

~ But after a certain time, Herbert gets sleepy and he definitely is a firm believer in naps.

~ He also puts comfort above style sometimes. He looks good in overalls and crop tops but boy does he love a comfy sweatshirt and baggy jeans.

~ It takes a cup of coffee for Lance to be Lance. Nothing fancy, just a cup of joe with a bit of creamer. He is not a coffee snob.

~ Herbert thinks Breakfast is the Best Meal. A regular Leslie Knope. Can and will have waffles everyday, even if they are the box kind.

~ Lance can do a lot of strange voices and when he has a STORY he likes to tell it in the most absurd way possible to make Herbert laugh.

~ Herbert has an Aesthetic Instagram. Even his Snapchats are very, very, very niiiiccceeee.

~ But the Snaps between him and Lance are very goofy and Herbert kinda hates it when Lance takes screenshots because it ruins his Image but Lance is like they are too cute not to save.

~ They have fast food dates where they just order drive through and eat in the car. Lance think is that the fact Herbert likes to dip his fries into his milkshake is a sin but the man also orders the spicy chicken nuggets so he is one to talk.

~ The BEST dates are when they surprise each other with an adventure. Sure, Lance has made him camp and Commune with Nature and that wasn't entirely fun but for the most part he hits the nail with things they both enjoy.

~ Herbert always listens to music when he cooks and Lance'll come home and find him singing and dancing with a wooden spoon and instead of interrupting him, he justs basks in the glory of his boyfriend.

~ Lance loves gory horror movies and for the most part Herbert braves them with him. But he isn't shy to lean against Lance's arm when he hears the chainsaws ripping.

~ Lance is ultimately the one who proposes and just like Arthur, it's not terribly romantic. It was during one of those late night dates when he just said "Hey, we should get married." And Herbert is like "Yeah??" Lance is like "Yeah"

~ And so they do.

Ironic iPod

I love when my iPod plays "Turn it Off" from Book of Mormon and then "His Name is Lancelot" from Spamalot. Conflicting messages!! Elder McKinnely should just take Herbert's advice because really the Prince Herbert method of coming out is one of the best! :)
