A/N: Please let me know how you feel about this chapter. Let me know if i should keep going... i love you all. Enjoy!
It was about a hour later, Yoongi long gone, there was a short knock on the door. You quickly stood up straightening yourself out.
Jeongguk walks in, you notice two guards behind him shut the door behind him, they are most likely standing there, to guard the door. Your heart was going crazy, your mind was numb. Your mind couldn't wrap around the fact that you had the golden bracelet around your wrist. You actually...you? Out of all people. You were confused, confused when you look up and see Jeongguk looking down at you with a smile. His eyes were sparkling from one of the lights.
“Hello YN.” You felt your heart skip when his teeth poked out as he spoke, but he still kept a small smile on his face. “As you know I am Prince Jeon Jeongguk, the next King. I know so many thoughts are going through your mind right now, but I want you to get rid of those, because no matter what you will be the next Queen.” He nods, his smile now gone.
“But don't you understand that your country will not accept me. I will look like a fool!”
“Are you saying that I look like a fool?” His brows instantly frown, his body falters a little.
“No Prince, but you will if i'm to stand next to you. I'm sorry but I cannot accept this.” You say, you switch your weight onto your other foot unable to stand in these heels.
Jungkook walks forward and pushes you a little nudging you to sit down. You frowned, but sat down anyways.
“It doesn't matter, you came to this knowing that you had a chance to be picked. Now, I refuse to show the world that I don't make great decisions.” He kneels down before you, he grabs your ankle gently and lifts it up, the slit in your dress lets a piece of the fabric cover your middle area perfectly. You watch as his fingers go to your clasp on your heel, and start to loosen it. He takes one heel off and then takes the other one. Did he notice your uncomfort? He sets them aside and looks up at you.
“I promised someone I would try this on their sake, I never wanted this.” You say softly. He stays kneeled down but sits a little more comfortable.
“I'm now kneeling down, and I took off your heels because your feet were aching. You were the bracelet, that matching my ring.” He hold up his left hand, and laying at the bottom of his middle finger, a thick golden ring, with JJ carved in cursive. “Sorry, but now you have it, you are the future Queen, you better get used to it.” he stands up grabbing your hand and pulling you up. “Actually i'm not sorry.”
Then there was a quick knock on the door. When it opens a shorter girl came in and the guards shut the door. The girl quickly bows her head and keeps her head down.
“This is Ji-Mee. She is your personal maid, she will be by your side until the end, or until it is her time to leave.” Jeongguk explains, the girls head pop up and nods her head to you.
“Hello, it's very nice to meet you.” She smiles and now she was looking at you. She was clearly Korean. She was a little more on the smaller side, her hair was jet black and cut to her shoulders. Her eyes were cat like but monolidded. Her lips were full and skin fair. You were uneasy with her. You’ve never had a maid, and the fact that she was going to be by your side for a long time, it's weird.
“She's going to take you to your room. But my father told me that I have until the end of the week, when Monday comes your name will be announced, the town's around will gather and you will stand with me at the highest show balcony.” He smiles and leans in, making your body tense up. He kisses the top of your head and walks out of the room. Leaving you wide eyes and with Ji-Mee.
“If you will follow me, Ill show you to your room and how I am set up to help you.” She turns and opens the door. You notice now that there was only one guard by the door. She takes you down the hallway, guard starts to follow. You lost track at how many turns you took, but eventually you make it to two sets of double doors. Ji-Mee turns toward the white ones,
“This is your room, and that over there,” She points to the black doors. “That is the Princes.” She opens the white and enters, you follow. You notice how bland the room was, nothing on the bed, or wall. Just a simple dark wooden dresser and vanity. The bed had the same wooden frame. White transparent sheets feel over it, draping over the bed.
“We set this room up so the future Queen, you, can choose how you want your room to look. I will ask you those questions soon, so it will be ready after you shower. But over here, I can help with your daily routine.” She points to the vanity. “We obviously didn't know who would get chose, so we keep it pretty neutral. Soon it will be filled with your favorites.”
She pulls your shoes out from behind her back, you didn't even know she grabbed. She walks over to a door that slides into the wall and she sets them on one of the shelves.
“So what colors would you like for your room to be?” She asks walking back to you putting her hands behind her back.
“Any color?” You ask surprised. She nods smiling a little. “Um...I really like neutral colors. Like greys, tans and dark blues? But mainly black?” You blab out. You weren't sure how to answer. But with the widen eyes of Ji-Mee, you guessed you answered right.
“Prince Jeon loves black as well.” She smiles. “But okay, in the bathroom there are a couple of towels and a night outfit for you as well. You room will be together for you by the time you get out.” She goes and opens a door near the closet showing you a grand bathroom. You go in and start to search for your zipper. But you suddenly felt a hand stop you from moving. You turn and see Ji-Mee standing there.
“I'm always here to help.” She says and unzips it. “Do not worry as well, you don't have anything I haven't seen before.” She smiles joking around. Which actually helps the tension in the room right now. She turns the shower on and lets you test the temp then lets her know that you liked it a little warmer. She adjusts it and once it was good she bows and leaves you to wash up.
Ji-Mee leaves you, and goes down the hall into another room filled with all types of stuff. Inside looking around was Prince Jeongguk. He turns around and smiles walking up to her.
“P-prince? What are you doing in here?” Ji-Mee asks with questionable eyes.
“Ah, I wanted to see what colors she chose. Do tell please.” He says holding his hands behind his back. Ji-Mee smiles when she realizes what he was doing. So she walks over toward the area that held all of the black and white materials to decorate your room.
“She said she likes neutrals. Mainly black.” Ji-Mee explains and she watches as Jeongguks eyes widen a little and he sucks his bottom lip in. He rocks on his feet a little and scratches the back of his head with his finger.
“My favorite color is black.” he whispers. Ji-Mee smiles even bigger.
“If I can say sir, I think she is the one.” Ji-Mee beams. “Yes, she isn't what people expect since your whole bloodline is asian, but I think this is what people need.” She quickly bows her head, unsure if he would get mad or not.
“I already talked to my dad. He said almost something along the lines of your words. I just know that she won't accept this so easily. It's kind of a lot.”
“I understand. But she will have to, you just have to make it easier for her. Now if you will excuse me I have to make her room up.
You stepped out of the shower grabbing the towels and wrapping them around yourself and hair. You dry off and grab some lotion you found on the counter and you lathered yourself up. You then grab some silk pajama shorts and the bigger sized tank that matched. It was a maroon color.
Once you were done you opened the door and was shocked. You find Ji-Mee putting a pillow at the top of your bed. Which was now covered with a all black comforter and the pillows were different shade of grey. The dresser was covered in different perfumes and on the vanity was a lot of different shades of makeup. The foundations were in different ranges of your skin color, some only a little too dark or a little to light. The walls were a dark navy blue.
“How did you get the walls this color so fast.” They were white before.
“Ah, some simple wallpaper miss.” She smiles and walks over. She picks up a measuring tape. “I have to take your measurements so we can ship you some clothes in.”
“Ship clothes in?” you ask confused. She nods and pulls your arms up and you keep them there.
“Yes, you are going to have clothes shipped in from the best places. I know your color choices, and your shoe size, but I don't know your waist and etcetera. Which is what i'm going to do now.” Then she continues to take your measurements. Soon she was starting to pack her stuff up, getting ready to leave for the night.
“Not that it matters to me, but what type of clothes?” You couldn't help but to ask.
“Well, you are the future queen. But it is the twenty first century, so don't worry about looking crazy. I think personally you will like them. You still will have some control over what you wear. You will fully understand tomorrow.” She then leaves leaving you standing there.
You look around, wondering what to do. You noticed a alarm clock on the side of your bed. It was almost ten pm. You suppose you should go to bed. You walked over and flipped some of the covers back getting ready to get in. You walk over towards the door, going to turn off the light. As soon as you flipped it a soft knock came from your door. It startled you, making you question who could be out there.
You slowly open the door. You eyes coming in contact with a large set guard standing against the wall. When you opened a little more and peep your head out you see Jeongguk standing there with a blue silk pajama pant set, and a black robe and slippers on. When your eyes meet his, he was already looking at you, which made you a little nervous.
“Are you hungry?” He asks. “Down the hall in the lounge, they put out snacks.” You just nod, and follow him down the hall. To the right, there was a open doorway that lead to larger room. You first noticed the three black couches that made a ‘U’ in the middle. They faced a fireplace, that was red brick, above it was a flat screen. Behind the farthest couch you seen a table with food. It was decorated so modern like. Unlike what it looked like on the outside, more castle like. The lights were dimmed, and the fireplace was going, so it was fairly lit.
Jeongguk leads you around the couch.
“Go ahead and sit, i'll make you a plate.” he smiles softly and walks away toward the table. You wanted answers, you just had this feeling in you and you need it to go away.
Jeongguk comes back over holding two plates, he hands you one then sits next to you. You look at the plate and notice some veggie rolls and a sauce to dip them in. You've never ate anything near this before, never could afford it. You pick it up and eat it. It turned out to be a lot better than you expected.
“My father wanted me to pass on a few things to let you know so nothing comes to be a surprise.” He says then eats some of his food. He then puts the plate down and turns a little. So within a week, you will be presented in front of the public. You will be aired on TV for the whole country to watch. I know it sounds like a lot, and I will admit, it will be. But after that, everything will come much easier.” He says smoothly. His words made your head spin. You were going to be on TV? Oh God.
“Soon after that will be our wedding.” That made you freeze up.
“Wedding??” You asks trying your best not to stutter. He nods quickly.
“Yes YN. My birthday is in a couple of months and I'm turning 21. That is the age I am set to take over. You are the future leader, which means then you will be taking over my mothers position. Yn. I need you to understand that this is real.” He says leaning a little closer. His face was serious, and his eyes never left yours. But yours left his. You eyes shot down to your hands. Yoongi was gone. He was out of the picture and that pissed you off. The first man you ever loved, and you can't even have him. You felt your heart break at the reality. Why did he talk you into this? You could’ve been snuggling up by the fire.
You look back up at Jeongguk and nodded.
“I understand. Now, does this involve anything more than a leadership?” You ask, you weren't sure how to word your words right.
“What do you mean? I don't understand.” He says lowly. You sigh.
“Like w-what do you expect from me? I understand being the Queen.” you almost whisper. This man before you made you so nervous. But you loved being near him already.
“Well, other than being the future Queen, you will also be my beautiful wife that I will soon come to love.” he smiles softly, giving you his big dough eyes. You almost scoffed at his words.
“What? Why do you doubt?” He asks a little louder than you expected. You didn't want to say anything about your reasoning so you just shake your head.
“Tell me YN.” He pushes, but you were just getting annoyed.
“Fine. I think you should go back to your father and tell him that you want another ball because you need to choose another girl. It was a mistake, me going to the ball. I don't want this and you shouldn’t want me here.” You say standing up. You put your plate down. Jeongguk follows.
“A mistake? You think I made a mistake?” He asks. He looked at who wondering if you really actually though like so. “Anyone would want this spot. And I chose you, so why are acting like this? I've never met anyone so ungrateful!” His voice starts getting louder.
“No, I'm not ungrateful, i'm just trying to protect myself.” You say calmly. You knew fighting back would only make him even more upset. But your words only seemed to annoy him further.
“Protect you?!” He laughs. He bites his lip in frustration, he runs his fingers through his hair. He doesn't know how to think right now, what to think. “You don't think...you don't think I can protect you? I am the next King, your fiance, your protector. And you doubt me.” he sounds offended, and now that you think of it maybe you did offend him. But then his words really hit you and they made your heart start beating faster and faster. Your eyes connected with his when you looked up to him.
“I-i'm sorry, My Prince.” You bow your head showing him respect. For a second you almost forgot that he was the Prince of your country. You were nothing, you didn't deserve to be here. You seen his hands raise, but you didn't expect for them to grab your face. Both of his hands hold your face, bringing you closer to his leaning body.
“It's Jeongguk to you, okay? And starting now, whatever thoughts you have about your appearance forget them because they aren't true. Any thoughts of any relationship you had, throw them away because you're mine now.
