With the post about your AU’s as the SIX group, do you mind giving a simple explanation of each AU as I don’t know some of them?
Sure! I have so many AUs on here, it makes sense that there’s a little confusion about some of them.
Villain MK is an offshoot of the Demon King Red AU that @estellardreams came up with. Here’s the original post about it. The basic plot of it is that this MK goes through being imprisoned by Red Son, but when he emerges from that he isn’t afraid and traumatized in the same way as other versions of MK have been. Instead, he decides he’s furious and wants to get revenge, so he trains to get stronger and comes back to try to kill Demon King Red.
Victim Red is the name given to the Red Son in Yandere MK’s AU. In this AU, MK is the yandere one. He lures Red Son away from his parents, manipulating them all to turn them all against each other and ensnares him in a controlling, emotionally abusive relationship where he is basically the only one who has access to him. Eventually Red Son is rescued by Mei, who discovers that her friend has changed since he became the Monkie Kid. However, MK is obsessed and desperate to get Red Son back by any means necessary.
Yandere Red’s MK is from older AU with not a ton of content for it, but the gist of it was that this Red Son is extremely into MK, but has a lot of yandere tendencies. At first he starts out by trying constantly to kidnap MK, but his wacky, looney tunes-esque plots never work out that well, and honestly MK doesn’t even see him as much of a threat and finds it adorable. Eventually, MK decides that this isn’t working.. and in any case, he thinks Red Son is kinda cute too (if a little possessive) so he comes up with a system. When Red Son behaves for a set amount of time, he gets rewarded. The quality of the rewards vary by the length of time he is able to contain his yandere tendencies and can range from holding hands to cuddling to maybe even something more scandalous… though honestly, Yandere Red struggles to last that long most of the time lol (This one is an older AU and honestly I made the mistake of not giving it its own specific tag, so the Yandere Red tag on my blog is full of other unrelated stuff too… so, uh.. you can check out that tag and scroll al the way to the bottom to find some of this content if you want I guess but the posts on the top is mostly other stuff)
Prisoner MK is the original dark spicynoodles AU that basically started off sooo many other ones (including Demon King Red which is a continuation of it). Basically, Red Son comes up with a plan to defeat the Monkie Kid, he is going to pretend to have a change of heart and ask to join his side. MK, being a softie for the sob story about his parents being cruel that the demon spins, welcomes him easily and the two start dating. Well, Red Son falls in love. Hard. So, instead of luring him into a trap and killing him, as was the original plan, he instead imprisons him. With MK out of the way, and under Red Son’s control thanks to him being outfitted with a version of the tightening fillet of Red’s own design, The Demon Bull Family take over the city… this doesn’t work out so well, though, because when Sun Wukong hears that his successor has been kidnapped he gets involved. After trying again and again to reason with the DBK fam, he loses his patience and, in his concern for MK and desire to save him, kills DBK and PIF. Red Son escapes and flees to go find MK and run away further, but Wukong catches up to him, frees MK and severely injures Red Son who just barely manages to sneak away to lick his wounds. (This Red Son later recovers and becomes Demon King Red, but that’s its own tag, and the Prisoner MK tag refers specifically to this part of the story.)
Prince MK is the bad ending of the Demon King Red AU. In this version, MK’s friends have all been either killed or irrevocably imprisoned, Sun Wukong is at the mercy of Macaque, and MK has been locked up in a tower where the only person allowed in or out is Demon King Red himself. He is alone and miserable and desperate for any kind of interaction with anyone except for King Red… but King Red is all he’s allowed. So, after resisting for as long as he can, he eventually leans into it and just surrenders, letting King Red love him and trying to convince himself that this is all fine because that’s all he can do- he has no more tears left to cry. This is his life now.
Time Travel Red Son is the protagonist of my fanfic A Test of Time. He’s an offshoot of the Demon King Red AU, and his whole deal is that he was in the middle of the plan laid out in the Prisoner MK AU, he was plotting to kill MK and steal the staff, but he also had fallen deeply in love with MK. Before he can put that all together in his mind, though, he accidentally gets flung into the future where he witnesses what is to become of himself if he continues down the path that is laid out for him. Seeing the mad Demon King Red and how utterly miserable and afraid of him this MK of the future is, he resolves that he has to do better and must change everything about himself to ensure that he never becomes Demon King Red or does what he does to hurt MK.
And.. it wasn’t brought up specifically in the Six question, but I’ll include it here, anyway, since it’s basically the main AU I talk about on this blog.
Demon King Red is the second half of the Prisoner MK AU and the antagonist of my fanfic A Test of Time. After Red Son is defeated by Sun Wukong and loses not only MK but his parents, he slinks back to the Fiery Mountains Palace his family owns and loses himself in despair. As he mourns the loss of his love and his family, instead of analyzing what he did wrong and how he hurt MK by kidnapping and torturing him, he instead breaks down. He loses his mind utterly. No, he wasn’t wrong. MK loved him. He said as much. Therefore, it was MK’s friends and that monster Sun Wukong who ruined everything. Red Son recovers physically and starts to rebuild. He goes to his parents’ old allies for assistance and builds a grand court at this old palace. He sinks deeper into madness, convinced that if he can just get MK away from his friends, if he can just get him here to his court and marry him, then everything will go back to the way it was and they’ll be in love and happy together again… anyway, obviously this is untrue. MK is terrified of him and fights with every fiber of his being to get away from him, but Demon King Red refuses to see it. If he were to acknowledge that MK hates him, it would mean he would have to admit to his own mistakes and that would mean it was his fault that his parents died and he just. can’t. do that.
