i sit in my room between 4 walls, between plant pots and a pistachio bowl. i feel ridiculous i feel powerless, i can't even share it with my folks cause their ignorance forbids me.  what can i do? i can get angry. that's all i can do. and i hate it. i look for rest but i find reminders, and i'm somehow glad i do. my stomach churns when i think of walking out my door, cause i know what awaits me on the other side is racist jokes and neglect. i'm not black, i'm not poor, i'm not american. but i'm human, and i'm angry. i'm angry cause this is wrong. my hands are tied, but even so i can write. tied hands can still pray.
