not exactly specific-fic related, but do you listen to music while you're writing? or do you have other rituals to "get in the spirit"? ps, i Adore it was mine to destroy, i cried way too many tears reading it lol

I've gotten this question before and it's always such a fun question because I'm always listening to something different!

Here's a thing I do: I listen to songs with lyrics when I'm coming up with ideas and I listen to instrumental pieces when I'm writing. This is very important because song lyrics can be the key to coming up with scenes or just character motivation/lines of thoughts but they can be distracting and that's where I pull instrumentals up.

If you notice, you'll see my titles are all song names? So, that's usually a pretty big clue as to what song I am listening at the time but I listen to a lot of different thing!

Recently, I was complaining to a mutual about a very lackluster villain playlist on youtube actually vbedsgbd I tend to listen to some playlists over there! Here is one I've listened and here is one of pure instrumentals.

For it was mine to destroy, songs I listened to included: I Know Those Eyes from the Count of Monte Cristo Musical, Once More To See You by Mitski, Big God by Florence and the Machine, Oh Death by Noah Gunderson, Dance Me To The End Of Love cover by The Civil Wars and Trust Me Not by Backseat Vagabond, as well as The Willow Maid and Come Little Children by Erutan.
