Reading manga from my library, and never expected to happen upon a black trans woman from a manga published in 2004

Her name is Yoshi, and is from the manga "Princess Ai"

[Yes, it is a hybrid west-east production so that may have influenced it]

[By the by, that little comment next to the blonde woman on the second page: "This man- er woman- brought me here" is the only case of Yoshi being misgendered in any capacity !!]

She is such a sweet character, genuinely. The other LGBT character in the story starts as more of a gay stereotype, but he gets fleshed out as well

The Real Ai Sequel

so im deadass thinking about writing a 4th original run Princess Ai manga with the intention of rounding it out a bit because im not confident the sequel series is/willbe any good based on my personal perception of the first 3 manga volumes

With Ai's HSB necklace being confirmed to have narcotic effects on humans i think a grittier drug metaphoric sequel would be epic, taking into account the fact that her as a Courtney Love stand-in essentiallly wields the power of narcotics it would work very well I think. genuinely.

What I love about Ai is that her backstory and life is somewhat tragic and beautifully paralells Courtneys in a lot of ways I cant entirely form words on. I think this suffers due to the 13+ rating of the manga imo. I will have to post more about this when I have a moment though
