I'm not usually an original creation person but! Recently I had the idea of a little children's cartoon about the exploits of the people of a land split into four regions, each region perpetually in one of the four seasons. I don't quite have a name for it yet, but if you wanna pitch in, I'd appreciate the help oawentjaenjktgn
Each region has it's own (unrealistic mind you) monarchy, and I imagine those would be the protagonists for the most part. They're only a monarchy because their bloodlines are linked to dragons, which aren't gods per say, but are very powerful magical creatures. This not only gives them the ability to communicate with the dragons, they also have much stronger magic than the average citizen.
Anyway! Here's the royal family of the Winter Kingdom! More about each of them under the cut!
First is Prince Iolite, a sheltered and pampered nerd. See, he has this thing where, unlike the rest of the people of the Winter Kingdom (Wintlings) who are basically just fantasy humans built for constant winter, Iolite's body is made completely of ice. This means that he can't go anywhere too warm and his body is incredibly fragile, so he's spent most of his childhood inside the palace and the general area around it. Doing so, he got into the habit of reading literally anything he could find, so he's much more immersed in the world of fiction than reality sometimes.
That brings us to his much more adventurous older sister, Princess Blizzard. She's your typical athletic, spunky type, often frustrated with how stuffy and formal royal life is. Because of that, she doubles as a knight and helps her subjects with any dangerous adventures they might need someone to go on. While her adventures only got more dangerous as an adult, she's been going on them ever since she was little in a way, and she's always relayed those stories to her little brother, who would be completely enraptured.
And finally, King Glacier. Following the guidance of the great dragon of winter, he attempts to make the best kingdom he can for his subjects while still attempting to be involved in his children's lives. In fact, he tries so hard to be involved he's even a little bit overprotective of them, especially Iolite due to his condition (though Iolite themself doesn't exactly care for it). He's an enthusiastic, if a bit eccentric, fellow, but he's definitely got something going on under the surface. His wife dying shortly after Iolite's birth probably has something to do with it.
