trans feminine lotor hear me out
headcanon but just cool to note the symbolism and parallels I see correlate to his character that are already there in the show! this started because hala claimed hes a lesbian(so to hala)
1- Lotors core arc is about rejecting an imposed identity
lotor is born into a roles he never chose, as son of the Galra emperor hes expected to embody violent hyper masculine galra dominance and is constantly pressured to follow in his fathers footsteps
through a transfemme lense this emphasizes hes been assigned a role that feels alien and wrong.
He is constantly trying to define himself outside of what his body, lineage, and society demand.
To me something about his resentment and/or resistance seems more than just moral, maybe aeven almost existential.
2- his rejection of galra masculinity is visceral, not ideological
Lotor doesn't just disagree with Galra culture he's repulsed by it:
Disgust with brutality and domination
Emotional alienation from Galra norms
Deep discomfort with what he is "supposed" to become
Galra masculinity represents enforced identity, his rejection is embodied and emotional, not abstract
As well as his desire to be something else is intense and personal i.e He doesn't want to be a "better Galra man". he wants out of the category entirelu.
3- visuals and aesthetics
Lotor’s design is so androgynous and elegant (at least compared to other male Galra):
Slim build, soft facial features (body tea) Long beautiful majestic luscious hair (Im not jealous)
More form fitting/regal clothes unlike armored bulk Graceful movement instead of agressive body language
Imo he always looked like someone curating himself, not accepting what he was given.
4. His fixation on Alteans as trans longing
Alteans symbolize the self he wishes he could fully be
He never longed for conquering but belonging and recognition
His pain comes from being close to what feels right but never fully allowed to be it (ik what u r)
5. His relationship with Honerva reflects distorted self recognition
Honerva is the only person who sees his vulnerability, mirrors his alienation (more than Keith can tho thats a different post) and understands transformation as a form of survival.
But their bond is unhealthy showing what happens when self understanding exists without safety or affirmation (god theyre so mother and daughter) before all the villainy there was tragedy ‼️‼️identity without support becomes obsession ‼️‼️‼️
Rather than being evil for power’s sake his actions escalate, as his chance to define/affirm himself collapses the more his identity is denied, the more destructive he becomes
Not to excuse his maniac ass its just so fitting to his character it’s so good it should be canon
