What if a necromancer started raising the dead and feasted on souls to become a lich is there a rule regarding that in your duties?
Well if they are feasting on, destroying, or otherwise doing anything to disrupt the cycle of spirits oftentimes I or others in my order would be sent to deal with them.
Now when I am sent to potentially take out somecreature or something I am taking the role of a "reaper" in such scenarios.
Reapers are essentially one from an order of gravekeepers in a more combat focused role often times to take out serious threats and sometimes to protect certain...cursed individuals. I myself have taken such a role many of times. I personally do not care for fighting, It unfortunately is necessary sometimes as not all can be simply talked to or negotiated with.
But you might have caught on that I have not talked about the necromancy part of your question yet. The reason Is because necromancy in itself Is not bad and can be used in more responsible manners. However certain routes one may take in its practice are certainly grounds for taking action against.
Necromancy is often a very grey area, though most reputable necromancers make sure the bodies they raise are obtained within more consensual ways, such as through offerings or donations. It however also has other applications, such as being able to stabilize someone who would otherwise perish so that healing, and medical attention may be applied.
Do you have werepony guards?
Indeed I do, many types of them in fact!
Most know of werewolf ponies but there are also werebear, wererat, and many other types of were ponies!
My guards and staff are very diverse, while wereponies only make up a part of them they are not just ponies either.
The spirit realm is home to many beings across many realms and I aim to be as inclusive as possible.
Princess of Spirits- a Backstory
For as long as she could remember, Zelda’s closest friends had been the ethereal women clothed in green flames.
They took care of her. They gave her advice. When her mother died, they were there to comfort her- because most of them had gone through the same thing. Even when Impa wasn’t at her side, Zelda knew she was safe, because her friends were watching over her.
She was 12 years old before she realized no one else could see them.
It was a whole other year before she began to connect the dots as to who these women were.
While looking through the library, she found a book with an illustration of the young girl with long, pale locks in the blue dress of a castle maiden. At prayers in her chapel, she spied a stained glass of the tall, dark-haired lady who always looked sad. While on an excursion to castle town, she noticed a statue of the dark-skinned, green-eyed woman with the horns and claws of a dragon.
As she grew up, she began to see her friends- her ancestors- less and less frequently. They were still there, they assured her, but she was changing from a girl to a woman. She didn’t need so much help anymore. Or at least, that’s what they told her.
In reality, something was coming. Something awful- an ancient evil with a thirst for revenge and a despair that transcended time. And it was severing their connection to their youngest sister.
Finally, when Zelda was 16, the secret couldn’t be kept any longer. They told her the truth about their shaky contact. And they warned her of the great danger that was to come. They urged her to find someone who could also see- because he was out there, if she could find him- or else, all she knew might become her undoing.
And so she began a search.
It was a week before her seventeenth birthday when a farmer’s son stumbled into her throne room, bearing a sacred mark on his left hand and pleading to see the Princess Zelda.
what are your thoughts on these "patchwork ponies" that are popping up Nox?
As in the two in Cinna's world? I don't know enough about them to think much other than they seem nice thus far.
But if you mean overall? well, necromantic practices are not exactly uncommon in my world, though it is regulated. One can't just raise any dead creature they so please and the raising must be in a consensual manner.
As for the more patchwork pony types they mostly consist of parts of donors kind of like organ donors but more macabre. However as long as they are "created" without taking parts from those who's spirits would resent the use of their former bodies, It is fine with me.
Dear Princess of Spirits,
I know this may be a stupid question, but why not get all the princesses to fix the hole in the sky to, you know.. stop the spirit world invasion?
I'm guessing you must be Princess Luna's daughter ! I see the resemblance! That is awesome!
-Pip
She chuckles
"Yes I am indeed her daughter thank you, and no it is not a stupid question as it isn't exactly common knowledge."
"Though as for your question, it isn't so simple. For starters it isn't an invasion as much as the border between the realms has been opened. Unfortunately however even if we all gathered together, magic isn't a fix all solution as much as many would like it to be."
"Though I should also say the tear itself was created by a clash on the spirit realms side of things. It was one who was part of my mentors order and his previous protégé who went rogue and the resulting clash between him and most of the order created the tear."
"The tear being created with such a massive clash of spiritual energy can't simply be mended by even multiple alicorns. Heck it is something something even Grim couldn't mend working in tandem with said alicorns in the past. So since then we have learned to try and live with our new neighbors. Though in truth they were here to begin with, and they were just suddenly thrust into public notice and were now more prominent than they once were."
"Though through my explanation you might now be wondering what is this order, and who is my mentor?"
She then pulls out Her scythe and spirit lantern seemingly from nothing
"See besides being the princess of spirits I am protégé to grim and part of his order of gravekeepers. My scythe and lantern are both tools and symbols of our order and I was initiated way before I became a princess myself. Though that is a long story and one for another time. However there are other orders headed by others, each having their own ways, and having different qualities they look for in new initiates. All these separate orders share in the duty to keep the cycle of spirits in balance spans past my own world and into countless others. "
Hello, Princess of Spirits!
How does that work, exactly? Do you like, command a ghost population, or the undead thingies roaming around... I'm sorry, I'm new here. :)
-Pip
That is quite alright dear, Though I do have a natural affinity for necromancy, umbramancy, and ectomancy. My role largely involves seeing the souls of the departed to their respective afterlives and maintain the cycle of spirits.
However, I also deal with malevolent spirits when needed and help maintain the peace of my equestria's supernatural population. See My world has had this "scar" in the sky for a long time, 1000's of years it has bern there. The scar It is a tear between the veil of the spirit realm and that of the living.
So due to this the supernatural beings that oft dwell in the spirit realm are fairly common in my world. This can range from vampires, were-creatures, ghosts, nature spirits, fae and much more. However despite the peace there are still horrible things that do happen and I try to deal with it as best we can but I am not exactly omnipotent so I can only do so much.
But as far as my governing goes I help often times work with my world's Twilight to help when issues arise between the supernatural and Equestrian communities, or any other community for that matter.
This is obviously an oversimplification of my duties. I would not want to keep you here all day going on about the intricacies of all I do, but I hope it is sufficient.
If you have any more questions I would be glad to answer though!

🎶I just wanna live (Live), I don't wanna die
Find my body in the forest, then my momma gonna cry (Cry)
Don't you shed a tear, hell burns like Everclear
It don't matter where you go, Siren Head is everywhere
(People) People keep saying they see something in the fog
Drag you through the woods, he might drown you in a bog
You can run and hide, but he's always gonna find you
Now it's too late, 'cause he's standing right behind you🎶
......
is this supposed to intimidate me?
You do realise I'm the princess of spirits right?
Many of my guards are werewolves, vampires, Spirits inhabiting armor, and other supernatural creatures.
My main duties are to help spirits get to their afterlives and govern the supernatural community in my own universe.
Working with twilight to resolve any friendship problems at best and deal with the more.. grisly part of the supernatural at worst.
So no universe Is not as bright and shiny as others but it Isn't bleak either.
But dealing with "cryptids" or other such creatures is just another day for me.
