Hey phui! I was thinking of applying to this animation college. There are some bad reviews and I'm worried what if the school is misleading me... the students I saw didn't seem unhappy but I've also seen people saying it's a waste of money and you should just teach yourself. Do you think it's a waste of time and money? I just think I need more direction you know... I think your self taught right? What do you think?
Hey! It’s true that I’m a self-taught artist and animator.I’ve never been to an animation school and I’m not familiar with one, but I do know some people learn better being pushed by education system and being mentored by professionals while some learn better by fiddling and making mistakes by themselves. I say going to an animation school will definitely give you a lot of benefits when it comes to interacting with folks in the industry. If you do go to one and you feel like you aren’t learning anything, then you might wanna try a different school (or perhaps none at all).Go to school, or don’t go to school, it really doesn’t matter. I can guarantee that all it really takes to be a good skilled artist/animator is continuous hard work, passion and perseverance. Good luck!
