I for the ask game !!!

I. Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

Hmmmm, this is a tough one. I guess my guilty pleasure for writing is *awkwardness.* I love putting characters, kataang specifically, in awkward situations (which are usually ONLY awkward bc they love each other so much that they don’t want the other to feel weird or uncomfortable or pushed, etc), and letting the story flow from there to see how they would handle it. I love *reading* stories like this, too, so long as I don’t suffer *too much* from second-hand embarrassment, haha!

I haven’t written too much of it, but another guilty pleasure I have for reading is some jealous Katara. Also Powerful!Aang. I know jealousy isn’t exactly a desirable trait but I think that Katara probably leans that direction (or maybe that’s just me projecting my own teenage years on her! Young love is hard and confusing). And I LOVE that Aang is a soft boi TM but he’s also the freaking avatar and his yelling “ENOUGH” at zuko in the finale *sends me* every time and I love seeing Aang portrayed as strong and powerful, too, just not to the point of toxicity (because Aang would NEVER).

7 - longest completed fic you wrote this year - My longest fic was Baobao, coming in at a whopping 12,581 words! I normally write around 5000 for standalone fics, so this was quite an undertaking.

26 - number of favorites/bookmarks you made this year - Only two. 💀 I read and have enjoyed a lot more fics than this, I'm just really bad at remembering the bookmark button exists.

Hi! These answers are unfortunately not very exciting, sorry!

13. favorite writing song/album/artist of the year: nothing! haha. I don't listen to anything while I write, and prefer to write in silence, with only the tap tap tap of my keyboard as background noise. I think it's because I had some sensory overload over the course of the pandemic while all my kids were home for 18 months straight with no breaks, but extra sound right now makes it very difficult for me to concentrate on anything. Even pre-pandemic, though, I could only listen to classical or instrumental music while writing (waaaay back when I wrote in college, haha, since I didn't pick writing back up until this summer), because anything with words would distract me and I would wind up typing out the words of the song by accident HAHA.

18. current number of wips: Shockingly, 2! I'm working on the next chapter of Growing Pains and also a gift fic for a secret santa (which I'm actually struggling HARD with starting. I've written and then deleted so many first lines), and that's it right now! I have a few thoughts for things I might write next, like a second and final chapter to A Noble Predicament (which would also be based on the continuation of the real life story chapter 1 was based on haha), but I don't have a doc for it yet or any words written so I don't consider it a wip. Thanks for the ask!
