After a night of smiles and food, the kids wake from their slumber at the Quarr’tel Cottages. As they exit the building, they come across a familiar girl. Taari’s eyes light up as he smiles.
Taari: Zh’en!
Zh’en flinches and sees the group. They wave towards her while she waves back, trembling.
Zh’en: He-hey... guys...
She takes another gaze towards Taari and blushes. She quickly looks the other way and runs. Taari is left confused while the other kids smirk at him. The Vaanti boy turns to the group and pouts.
Taari: We’re just best friends, you guys!
Everyone else: Suuuure...
Taari leaves and goes on ahead towards the Quarr’tel Gym while the others laugh and follow. As they reach the gym, they are reunited with Blight and Vishakha. The two best friends spot the kids.
Blight: Ah, there you are!
Vishakha: Are you guys ready?
Kaitlyn: More than ever!
Reginald: Absolutely!
Elena: Ready to kick some a--
Vishakha: Language, big Sis.
Elena covers her mouth and chuckles. Meanwhile, Taari looks around for Rachel and Meg.
Kaitlyn: Hey, where are your sisters, Vishakha?
Reginald: Yes, and where is Katherine, Blight
Vishakha: Oh, we asked them to go ahead towards Ursidae Town to meet up with my other sister and plan my performance.
Mika: You have a fourth sister?
Vishakha: Yep. Her name is Samantha.
Everyone enters the gym and they are immediately greeted by I.R.I.S.
I.R.I.S.: Greetings, children, Blight and Princess Vishakha. The L1Ch-qU33n is waiting for you at the battlefield. Please step into the teleportation pod to reach it.
Blight: Thanks, I.R.I.S.
They then enter the pod and are instantly transported to the Quarr’tel Gym battlefield. Zahra is laid back at the audience seats and spots her visitors.
Zahra: You’re here. Terrific.
Zahra makes her way to her side of the battlefield while Blight, Vishakha and Mika take their seats to watch the battle.
Zahra: So... who wants to go first?
Taari VS Zahra
Reginald & Elena VS Zahra
Kaitlyn VS Zahra

After the three battles, Zahra meets with the kids at the center of the battlefield.
Zahra: Well, you guys seem to have improved a lot ever since the Pokélympics.
Taari: Thanks, Miss Zahr--
Zahra quickly puts at Taari with an intimidating look.
Zahra: “Zahra” is fine, squirt! No need for the “Miss”.
Taari trembles and nods while the group chuckles. Zahra composes herself and pulls out four of her badge.
Zahra: For pwning the L1Ch-qU33n in the Quarr’tel Gym, I reward you the Corvus Badge.
Corvus Badge - 3 out of 8 Badges Collected.
The four kids store their badges in their cases. Afterwards, they thank Zahra and shake hands with her, even though she doesn’t want to. Blight, Vishakha and Mika rejoin the kids on the battlefield.
Blight: Alright, I guess it’s time for us to head to Ursid--
Vishakha: Not so fast, Jester!
Blight turns to Vishakha in confusion.
Blight: What is it, your Highness?
Vishakha: I’ve been wanting to do this ever since I caught you in Orderve City.
Blight: Yeah?
Vishakha points at finger towards Blight and grins in determination.
Vishakha: Let’s battle!
Blight: ......
Vishakha: ......
Blight: ......EH?!?!
Blight VS Vishakha
After the battle between the two best friends, everyone regroups at the Gym entrance. Zahra points northwards.
Zahra: Ursidae Town is that way. The journey will take at least a day if you keep moving but stop once to rest and revitalize.
Blight: Thanks, Zahra.
The two techies fist bump and salute each other before parting, while everyone else say their goodbyes.
Vishakha: See ya soon, Z.
Reginald: See you at Ursidae Town soon.
Mika: Bye!
As the group make their way towards the northern gate, Zahra secretly speaks with I.R.I.S.
Zahra: I.R.I.S.?
I.R.I.S.: Yes, L1Ch-qU33n?
Zahra: Make sure they stay on the path and don’t wander off somewhere dangerous.
I.R.I.S.: Understood.

A Fluffy Addition to the Family

Summary: Here in the Mckenzie Household, the couple welcomes a new member of a family...
It’s rather quiet in the McKenzie household. Unusually quiet. And this is starting to freak Emily out.
As far as she knows, her husband has a day-off from his flight duty and wouldn’t leave the house without telling her where he was going. Plus, his truck is still parked outside so he wouldn’t have gone anywhere. Once he noticed Emily coming home from either work or hanging out with the girls, he would rush towards her and greets her with a passionate kiss, like he always does. Except for this time...he didn’t.
Her concern started to increase by the time she heard a crash from their bathroom and rush towards it. It was then that she finally found
“Jake?”
“Hey, Princess. Back so soon, already?” Her husband grinned, holding onto a towel somewhat protectively. The woman raised an eyebrow at him.
“Jake, what’s going on? Why did I hear a-”
A whimpered was heard, but not coming from either of them. Emily saw something inside the towel Jake was holding that made her squeal in awe and excitement. She immediately went over to pick up a small, furry, black-and-brown creature, whose eyes were half-shut. But then, the little furball managed to open his beady black eyes, saw who was holding him affectionately, and gave Emily few small licks to her nose.
“He’s so adorable,” she cooed at the German Shepherd puppy before turning to the ex-military pilot, “Where did you find him?”
“One of our neighbor’s dog brought the little critters to this world and she couldn’t afford to take care all of them so she’s giving them away for free,” Jake then smirked at his wife, “And I take with that silly smile on your face, you like your gift.
“I love him,” Emily replied before kissing Jake on the lips, “Thank you!”
After helping the pilot drying off the little pub with the blow dryer and settle him on the couch between them, Jake spoke up.
“Any idea what you’re going to name the little guy?”
Emily thought for a moment while giving the puppy a little rub on the head. “Hmm...I want to name him ‘Jakey-Wakey’.”
“Don’t you dare, Princess!” Jake looked horrified for a moment which made Emily laughed.
“I’m just kidding, Top Gun,” she reassured him, “I’m going to name him, ‘Rover’.”
It became official that Rover is part of the McKenzie family. Even though he creates a lot of trouble (and steal Emily’s attention from Jake), they still love him.

After the battle against the new Sea Guardian, Gyarados, Taari and the rest of the gang gather in front of Taylor, Jake and Quinn.
Quinn: Thank you so much, guys, for keeping the Guardian at bay and incapacitate it before we got here.
Jake: Well... I’m still a bit annoyed that the new one is a lot easier to deal with than the last one. We had to take on Cetus three times! THREE TIMES!! That son of a bitch even had three heads on our final battle with him.
Jake crosses his arms and pouts while Taylor smiles shyly and calms down her husband.
Taylor: But really, thank you much, guys.
Bligh approaches Taylor and shakes her hand while Jake nods at him.
Blight: Glad to help, Taylor.
After expressing their gratitude, Taylor and Jake turn towards their daughter, Kaitlyn and her Lucario.
Jake: But what I’m most happy about is that our li’l Marshmallow’s partner is finally evolved.
Jake proceeds to pat Lucario’s head as the latter wags his tail. Taylor hugs Kaitlyn proudly.
Taylor: I’m so happy for you, Kaitlyn.
Kaitlyn: Thanks, Mama, Papa.
The two parents smile at their child. Taylor reaches for her handbag and pulls out a special box. She hands it to Kaitlyn.
Taylor: It’s time, my dear.
Kaitlyn slowly opens the box and her eyes light up. The box seems to contain a bracelet with a Mega Stone.
Kaitlyn: Is... is that...?
Taylor and Jake nod as Kaitlyn quickly dons the bracelet. She and her friends take a moment to admire her new accessory.
Kaitlyn: It’s so beautiful.
Mika: It matches you.
Reginald: That looks just as magnificent as my Mega accessory.
Taari: I wonder when I’ll get mine.
Kaitlyn turns back to her parents.
Kaitlyn: Thank you so much!
She rushes towards them and pulls them in a tight and loving embrace. They hold each other for a moment and pull away.
Jake: Now go out there and kick some butt, li’l Marshmallow.
Taylor: Jake!
Kaitlyn: Haha. Okay, Papa.
Taylor, Jake and Quinn say their goodbyes to the group and make their way towards the Prisma City route. Aryn and Izzy turn to the groups as they have plans of their own.
Aryn: Well, Izzy and I are going back to Aryndelle to deal with those... pffft... boring political discussions.
Izzy giggles and continues.
Izzy: We’ll be back by the time the next contest starts. In the meantime, you guys enjoy your journey to Quarr’tel Town and Ursidae Town.
Aryn, Izzy and the princesses pull themselves into another family group hug. In the midst of it, they turn to Blight. The man startles at their stare.
Blight: What?
Rachel: Join us, Uncle Blight!
Meg: Yeah!
Elena: There’s still room for you.
Izzy: Come on, Blight.
Blight rubs his head shyly.
Blight: Well... uhh... group hugs are not really my thing...
Aryn gives him an unamused look.
Aryn: Get in the hug, your freeloader.
Blight: I am not a freeloader.
Vishakha remains silent as her eyes gleam red. She leaves the group hug and approaches her uncle. She then grabs his collar and drags him across the ground towards the group hug. Blight struggles while Katherine giggles.
Vishakha: You’re getting in that hug.
Vishakha throws him into the group and turns to Katherine with a bright smile.
Vishakha: Wanna join us, Katherine?
Katherine: Sure!
The redhead girl skips merrily towards the Aryndelle Family while Blight stands and dusts himself off. The two then proceed to hug with the rest of the family, enjoying each other’s company. As they pull apart, Aryn and Izzy wave goodbye to everyone.
Recommended Music: Eterna Forest (Pokémon Diamond and Pearl)
The rest of the group then exit the gates of Orderve City and journey through the Forest of Rebirth. As they admire the beautiful trees around them, Meg asks...
Meg: So why was this called the “Forest of Rebirth”?
Taari, Reginald and Kaitlyn turn to her with an answer.
Taari: Well... around nine to ten years ago, after Mister Tyler and Miss Taylor saved the world and the Vaanti have revealed themselves to the world, the island has gone through a lot of changes.
Reginald: My parents told me that the World Government sent out environmentalists to the island to start a Tree Planting program on this very forest surrounding Quarr’tel Town.
Kaitlyn: The forest was once burned down due to a civil war among the Vaanti. And after the program, the forest looked so new, like it was reborn. That’s why it’s called the “Forest of Rebirth”.
Meg: Ooooh. I see.
As they continue their way, Vishakha glances to the side and spots a familiar Pokémon, a wild Pikachu. She stops in her tracks and squeals.
Vishakha: AAAHH!! A Pikachu!!
She then skips merrily towards the Pikachu while chanting its cries.
Vishakha: Pi~ka! Pi~ka!
But before she could reach it, she is lightly punched on her head by Blight. She then stops and crouches down, holding her head.
Vishakha: Ow ow ow...
Blight: Let’s not waste time here, your Highness. The next contest is in a week.
Blight grabs the back of her collar and gently drags her back to the group. Vishakha crosses her arms and pouts.
Vishakha: You’re the worst, Jester...
Blight: I know.
While Blight drags Vishakha back to the group, he notices them looking towards the sky. He stops and looks up as well. Vishakha starts ranting.
Vishakha: Hey! What’s the big deal?! Why did we stop?!
Blight accidentally lets go of her collar and she drops on the ground.
Vishakha: OW! HEY!!
She turns to glare at him but also notices something in the sky. The group spots a peculiar comet, with blue and orange streak lines.
Rachel: What is THAT?
Reginald: I... I don’t know. I’ve read a lot about space but I’ve never seen that kind of comet before.
Elena: Well, the fact that it’s barely moving from this view, it means that’ll probably take a few months for it to noticeably move.
The group shrugs off the comet as Blight helps Viskaha back up. She glares at him again for a few seconds before walking ahead. Blight chuckles and follows. With the group just halfway towards Quarr’tel town, they stop at a fork on the path.
Mika: Huh... the road seems to split here...
Kaitlyn: Both paths lead to Quarr’tel Town, but I can’t tell which is the shorter path...
While the group thinks about the situation, Blight looks at the left path and Vishakha looks at the right path.
Blight: This way...
Vishakha: This way...
Recommended Music: Whachoo Lookin’ At?! (Choices)
The two best friends startle at each other’s response and glare at each other. They start to debate.
Blight: The left path is the shorter path.
Vishakha: No. The right one is.
Blight: Wanna bet?!
Vishakha: Yeah!
Everyone else: Here we go...
The group cross their arms and give the two an unamused look.
Vishakha: Last person between us to reach Quarr’tel Town will get to treat the winner and everyone else.
Blight: Deal!
The two then proceed to grip each other’s hands tightly and shake them aggressively.
Blight: How do you manage to shake hands firmly and aggressively at the same time?
Vishakha: I took a seminar.
Blight: Where?
(Note: The last three lines is a reference to Brooklyn 99 Season 1 Ep. 13.)
After the agreement, they turn to the others.
Vishakha: So, who wants to join my team?
Everyone else: Eh?
Blight: Don’t worry. You guys won’t take part on the bet. We just need some company.
Vishakha: Plus, it’s a way for us to bond.
Everyone else: Got it.
After a few seconds, Taari and Reginald step up.
Taari: I wanna join Mister Blight. He seems to be an awesome person!
Reginald: Agreed. I want to know more about his battle tactics.
Blight: Great! One step closer to victory!
Vishakha: Pffft. Yeah, right.
Meanwhile, Kaitlyn and Mika walks towards Vishakha.
Kaitlyn: We’ll take her Highness’s side.
Mika: It’s a way for us to bond and maybe share ideas for the next contest.
Vishakha: Aww. I’m flattered. And also... don’t call me, “Your Highness”. Only Jester has the right to call me that.
Kaitlyn and Mika tilt their head in confusion.
Kaitlyn: Really?
Vishakha: He’s the only one allowed to call me that. It gives me a sense of uniqueness.
Blight: Plus it shows us that, even though we tease each other, we’re still best friends.
Katherine: Those two are basically the very definition of best friends.
Mika: Oh! I get it now.
After a few minutes, the two teams are finally formed. Blight’s team is composed of him, Katherine, Taari, Reginald and Elena. Meanwhile, Vishakha’s team is composed of her, Meg, Rachel, Mika and Kaitlyn.
Vishakha: Alright, now let’s settle team na--
Blight: TEAM FORGE MASTERS!!
At the mention of the name, Blight’s team react differently. Katherine giggles; Taari cheers along; Reginald crosses his arms and smiles; and Elena does a face palm.
Vishakha: Alright... then our name would be Team Pri--
Blight: TEAM PRINCESS!
Vishakha glares at Blight while he shrugs. Everyone else smiles shyly.
Blight: Great minds think alike, your Highness.
Vishakha: Hmph!
The group disperse and went on their separate ways. Meanwhile, a hidden camera among the trees observes the group. A familiar voice contacts Zahra in Quarr’tel Town.
Voice: L1Ch-qU33n, the children have passed the intersection, along with the royals of Aryndelle.
Zahra: About time they got here. At least they’re safe after all that Sea Guardian bullcrap. Alright, I’ll be making the preparations. Meet them at the gates and welcome them.
Voice: Understood.
Recommended Music: Eterna Forest (Pokémon Diamond and Pearl)
On the left path towards Quarr’tel Town, Blight walks ahead of the group while the others try to match his pace. Taari runs up to Blight.
Taari: So, Mister Blight. What are you to Aryndelle exactly?
Blight: Well, I am the Master of the Foundry, aka the guy who does the technological advancements there.
Taari: Ooooh.
Blight smiles at Taari’s interest and continues.
Blight: You see... Long ago, Aryndelle was once split into five Kingdoms; Abanthus, Ebrimel, Bellmere, Fydoria and Stormholt. After the war against the Iron Empire, the five Kingdoms have agreed to merge into one, along with their allies from Aurelia and the Foundry. And when Aryn was sworn in as queen, she named it Aryndelle.
Taari: Wow...
Blight: I know right?!
Reginald: What about your way of combination moves?
Blight turns to Reginald.
Reginald: How did you come up with such amazing combos?
Blight chuckles and answers the question.
Blight: When in the state of a battle, you have to make sure that you’re unpredictable so that your opponent won’t come up with a countermeasure. I’ve experimented on different kinds of combination moves to come up with the best of the best.
Taari and Reginald’s eyes light up, while Elena shrugs and smirks.
Elena: Trust me. Out of everyone in Aryndelle, he’s won the most battles. And even if he wins against Aryn more often, he never challenged her for her throne.
Katherine: I love his humility.
Elena: Yeah... right... “Humility”.
Elena rolls her eyes. Meanwhile, Katherine catches up to Blight as the two smile at each other and kiss.
Recommended Music: Again (Your Lie in April)
Meanwhile on the right path towards Quarr’tel Town, Vishakha also walks ahead of her own group, with Kaitlyn and Mika catching up to her.
Kaitlyn: So, Miss Vishakha...?
Vishakha: No need for the “Miss”, Kaitlyn. Vishakha will do.
Kaitlyn: Okay.
Vishakha: So what’s up?
Kaitlyn: How did you come up with such great performances?
Vishakha contemplates for a brief moment and gives her answer.
Vishakha: Sometimes... I stay up all night to think and practice...
Mika: Won’t that be bad for you?
Vishakha: It is but...
She smiles and looks up to the sky.
Vishakha: ...Jester’s always there for me.
Mika: You guys mess around so much, yet you still care each other so much. How’d you two meet?
Vishakha: It was when I first visited the Foundry when I was six years old...
[FLASHBACK]
Inside the Forge, the home of the Master of the Foundry, Izzy and a young Vishakha are walking around.
Izzy: Alright, dear. Mommy will be back. She just have to meet up with a good friend.
Vishakha: Okay, Izzy-mommy.
Izzy leaves Vishakha for a bit. As she waits for her mother to return, Vishakha curiously finds a room full of machinery. When she walks over to touch one of them, she wounds herself. Vishakha clutches her wounded finger while muttering.
Vishakha: Ow ow ow...
A few seconds later, a young man with goggles enters the room and spots her.
Blight: Hey, what are you doing here?
Vishakha doesn’t answer him. She remains silent and scared. Blight approaches her while taking out a small bandage. He gently holds her hand and binds the wound. He then smiles at her.
Blight: All better, your Highness.
Blight grins while Vishakha tilts her head in confusion.
Vishakha: “Your... Highness”?
Blight: You are Princess Vishakha, right? I think it suits you.
Vishakha giggles and points towards Blight.
Vishakha: Jester!
Blight: Uhh... what?
Vishakha: You made me smile and feel better. I want you to be my Jester!
[END OF FLASHBACK]
Kaitlyn: Wow. I didn’t realize you guys were THAT close after all the shenanigans you do.
Vishakha: We may tease each other a lot but that’s just on the outside. He’s not just my uncle... he’s my best friend.
Mika: Can the three of us be like that?
Vishakha: Of course! Maybe we may not be as close as I am with Jester but still very close friends.
Recommended Music: Surf and Sand (ES)
After walking for a while, the group’s stomachs all roar at once.
Meg: Well... this is awkward.
Rachel: Yeah... all at the same time.
Meanwhile...
Elena: Can you imagine if the other groups stomachs roared at the same time as ours?
After saying the same things, all members of both groups laugh. After a few minutes, they’ve set up their makeshift tables and prepared food. They’ve even called out their own Pokémon to join them.
On Blight’s group, they are having Onigiri (Japanese Rice Balls). Whilst eating, the group start to bond. Taari, Reginald and Elena are discussing battle tactics with Blight while Katherine leans on his shoulder and smiles at their conversation. On the other hand, Reginald’s Metagross and Nidoking have friendly competitions, like arm-wrestling, after not seeing each other for a long time. The other Pokémon around them cheer.
On Vishakha’s group, they are having Rice Crackers. Whilst eating, Vishakha, Kaitlyn and Mika are practicing their performances. Meanwhile, Rachel and Meg are seated on a log, watching the practice and playing with Vishakha’s Pikachu. Some of the Pokémon practice with the three contestants, while the others cheer and jump around.
Few minutes have passed and Taari spots a Joltik nearby. He approaches it and picks it up.
Taari: Aww... aren’t you a cute one?
Reginald and Blight cautiously get close to Taari.
Reginald: I don’t think that’s a good idea, Taari.
Blight: Yeah... Joltik’s can be very dangerous.
Taari grins at them and proceeds to gently scratch Joltik.
Taari: You don’t know what you’re saying guys.
Joltik then uses Thunderbolt and electrocutes Taari. The boy suffers for a little before the Attaching Pokémon leaps off of his hand. Taari falls on the ground while the rest of the group look at him, hilariously disappointed.
Meanwhile, everyone in Vishakha’s are playing with Pikachu after practicing. But what they don’t realize is that Pikachu is now feeling uncomfortable. She begins releasing sparks on her cheeks. Vishakha flinches and tries to warn the group.
Vishakha: Uhh...
But before she could warn them, Pikachu has already unleashed Thunderbolt. The attack electrocutes everyone, including the other Pokémon, but does not affect Vishakha. She just stands there, taking the attack, and shrugs.
Vishakha: Ehh... this doesn’t affect me anymore...
Pikachu eventually stops and everyone falls to the ground. Few more minutes have passed and everyone is set up. They continue on their journey towards Quarr’tel Town.
Once reaching the intersection and with the gate to the town in sight, Blight and Vishakha spot each other and start to run towards the gate. For a brief moment, Vishakha spots the determination in Blight’s eyes. She then slows down on purpose to let him win. As he reaches the gate, Blight starts to cheer.
Blight: I did it! I DID IT!! I finally won a bet against her Highne--
Suddenly, a small machine near the gate quickly displays a hologram right in front of Blight, causing him to startle and fall on the ground.
Blight: Woah!!
I.R.I.S.: Welcome, friends of the L1Ch-qU33n. My name is I.R.I.S. and welcome to Quarr’tel.
As everyone approaches I.R.I.S., Blight stands up and dusts himself off.
Blight: Geez, remind me to add “Avoid startling people” on your program, I.R.I.S.
I.R.I.S.: I apologize, Sir Blight. But the L1Ch-qU33n requested me to greet you once you pass the gate.
Rachel: “L1Ch-qU33n”?
Kaitlyn: I think she means Zahra Namazi.
Meg: The Gym Leader and new Clockmaker of Quarr’tel Town?
Reginald: The very same...
Reginald approaches I.R.I.S. and smiles.
Reginald: Hello, grandmother.
Everyone else: WHAT?!
While everyone in the group is startled with what Reginald said, Blight and Kaitlyn remain calm.
Taari: Y-you two... are related...?
Mika: How?! She’s an A.I.!
Elena: This is some weird shi--
Vishakha: Language...
After a minute of regaining composure, the group huddles around I.R.I.S.
Mika: So, what’s the story between how you’re... err... family?
Reginald: Well, before she was a hologram designed by my twisted grandfather, she was originally human. Her true name is Imogen Rourke. She may not be my grandmother, technically but she still sees me as her grandson.
Taari: Oooh. I get it now.
As the group discuss, they are called out by a familiar voice.
Voice: Finally! It was getting boring waiting for you guys.
The group turns to see Zahra grinning at them.
She turns to Blight.
Zahra: ‘Sup, Blight. Whatcha doing here?
Blight: Just wanted to see how I.R.I.S. is doing. Plus I wanted to accompany these kids.
I.R.I.S.: My status is at a normal rating, Blight. But if you’re willing to make advancements, then I’d be happy to accept updates.
Blight hands Zahra an envelope and a flash drive.
Blight: Here’s everything you need to increase her capabilities.
Zahra: Dope. Alright, I’m off. I’ll see the little runts by the gym tomorrow.
Zahra and I.R.I.S. bid farewell to the group as they wave to them. Afterwards, they head towards a Japanese-style restaurant. As they take their seats and have finished ordering their food, Blight and Vishakha discuss.
Vishakha: I guess you won, Jester.
Blight: Yeah... but not technically...
Vishakha’s smile falters as she sees the doubt on Blight’s face.
Blight: You lost on purpose didn’t you?
Vishakha: ...Yeah.
Blight pulls her into a warm hug as she hugs her back.
Vishakha: You’ve been losing a lot of our bets lately, Jester. I just thought that giving you a win would make you really happy...
Blight: I know. But seeing you happy is more important to me. And I don’t mind losing if that’s what it takes to see you smile. That is why... I’m sharing the pay with you.
Vishakha: ...Thank you, Jester...
The two linger in each other’s embrace as Vishakha takes a cookie from her cookie box and hands it to Blight.
Vishakha: Here, Cookieless man.
Blight grins and humbly takes the cookie. As the night goes on, everyone enjoyed each other’s company while having such a wonderful dinner.

A few minutes later...
I.R.I.S.: And now to introduce our next contestant. She is the first place winner of the previous contest that took place in Orderve City. She also happens to be one of Vishakha’s favorites. Introducing Mika and her Espeon!
Mika and her Espeon rush out of the curtains and wave at the audience. With a smile on her face, Mika begins her performance.
Mika: Alright, Espeon, use Psyshock!
Espeon’s eyes glow as she conjures small spheres of psychic-energy and hovers them around the stage, illuminating the contest hall.
Mika: Good! Now, use Signal Beam!
Espeon charges the gem on her forehead and fires a prismatic beam towards the psychic spheres. The spheres puff into pink smoke and covers the entire stage. Mika and Espeon are concealed in the smoke.
Mika: Use Psychic, Espeon!
Espeon’s eyes glow and takes control of the giant smoke using telekinesis. She then spreads the smoke across the floor in the entire hall, like how a smoke machine functions. Mika then places her hand on Espeon’s head and calmly says...
Mika: Last one, use Synchronoise.
Espeon nods and the two take a deep breath. Mika quickly begins to sing with confidence, while Espeon amplifies her voice with her own psychic powers and Synchronoise. The entire crowd marvels at Mika’s soothing yet powerful voice.
Taari: Woah...
Reginald: She’s like...
Elena: Celine Dion...
Reginald: Exactly.
Mika finishes her performance with a last high pitch note and the entire crowd does a standing ovation. Mika and her Espeon smile at the cheering crowd who rains the two with roses.
Blight and the other contestants watch from the curtains.
Blight: Wait... when and where did the crowd get roses?
Kaitlyn: Look! There’s a guy there with a Roserade, using Petal Dance.
Blight: Oh! Makes sense...
The pink smoke clears and Vishakha stands from her throne to comment on Mika’s performance.
Vishakha: I gotta say that you have been killing it with these performances, Mika. First, a giant green owl, and now, a singing concert?! You guys have great talent!
Mika: Thanks a lot, Vishakha.
Mika and her Espeon happily walk out of the stage as I.R.I.S. reappears.
I.R.I.S.: And now to introduce our final contestant. She is the first place winner of the first contest of this year that took place in Metropeal City. She is also one of Vishakha’s favorites. Introducing Kaitlyn and her Serperior!
Serperior slithers from the curtain with Kaitlyn mounting her on the back. Kaitlyn then gets off of Serperior and begins their performance.
Kaitlyn: Right then. Serperior, use Grassy Terrain!
Serperior screeches and a field of plant life start to cover the entire stage. Grass grows from the floor; vines cover the walls and the ceiling; and flowers bloom from all the green.
Kaitlyn: Great! Now, use Leech Seed then Aqua Tail!
Serperior swings her tail and throws a bunch of seeds at the center of the grass field. Small saplings start to grow from where the seeds are thrown. Her tail then glows blue with Water-type energy as she leaps up and slams her tail on the ground. The water then helps the saplings grow into a large tree, with the top reaching the ceiling.
Kaitlyn: Use Leaf Storm, Serperior!
Serperior circles around the tree and a tornado of razor sharp leaves start to whirl around the tree. The leaves then leave lots of cuts across the tree, with some leaves piercing through it. It’s almost as if Serperior is trying to do wood carving.
Kaitlyn: Now, finish it with Aqua Tail!
Serperior’s tail glows blue again as she slams it at the stump of the tree. The sliced parts of the tree then fall of to reveal a giant wooden statue of Kaitlyn and Serperior. The two then do the same pose as the one in the statue.
The crowd clap their hands as the sunlight from the glass ceiling glistens the wooden statue. Kaitlyn and Serperior bow while Vishakha stands from her throne to give her comment.
Vishakha: You really have a thing for carving statues, huh? That’s two in a row, Kaitlyn and you’re rolling. Keep up the amazing work!
Kaitlyn: Thank you so much, Vishakha!
As Kaitlyn returns backstage, Vishakha turns to her sister, Rachel.
Vishakha: She’s got potential, you know? She might even beat me...
Rachel: You think so?
Vishakha: Mhm.
After the performances of all of the contestants, I.R.I.S. calls for an intermission while the results of the judgement are being tallied.
Recommended Music: Contest Lobby (Pokémon)
Taari, Reginald, Elena and Vishakha reach the back stage and regroups with Kaitlyn, Mika, Blight and Zh’en.
Blight: Yo!
Kaitlyn: Hey, guys!
Mika: Did you enjoy our performances?
Zh’en: H-Hey...
Taari rushes to Zh’en with a smile.
Taari: You were so awesome, Zh’en! I couldn’t stop dancing after what you did!
Zh’en: Hehe... Thanks, Taari...
Taari grins and jumps around, while Zh’en smiles and rubs her head shyly. Everyone else gives them some space to enjoy each other’s company. Reginald walks over at Kaitlyn and Mika.
Reginald: You guys were phenomenal as always. Your performances get better every time I see a new one!
Kaitlyn: Thanks, Reggie!
Mika: That really means a lot.
The three friends high five and hug each other. Vishakha and Elena approach Blight and Katherine.
Vishakha: Well if it isn’t the cookieless man.
Blight: Shush...
Elena: Your performance rocks. Pun intended.
Katherine giggles and hugs Blight. Blight looks over at Katherine and hugs her back.
Blight: Well, I had to do my best, since the two people I love the most gave it their all.
Katherine smiles and pecks Blight’s cheek, while Vishakha lightly punches his arm.
Vishakha: Gee. Thanks, Jester.
Katherine: Thank you, Blight.
Vishakha then approaches Mika and Kaitlyn.
Vishakha: You guys never cease to amaze me.
Kaitlyn: Well, we have to work harder to achieve our dreams.
Mika: We won’t lose no matter what.
Vishakha grins and hugs them both.
Vishakha: Just remember; whatever happens, always have someone who has your back... who keeps you motivated to work harder... who always picks you up when you’re down...
While Kaitlyn and Mika hug her back and smile, Vishakha looks over at her uncle Blight and Elena. Kaitlyn and Mika look over at Taari, Reginald, and at each other. The three smile, knowing that they have such important people in their lives.
A few minutes have passed and the audience returns to their seats in the contest hall, eager to hear the results of the contest. Vishakha and I.R.I.S. take the stage and call upon the top three contestants.
I.R.I.S.: Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. It’s now time for us to announce the top three contestants of Ursidae Town’s Contest.
The auditorium becomes quiet as tension fills it. I.R.I.S. accesses the files regarding the results. She then announces the third place winner.
I.R.I.S.: For third place, we have Mika and her Espeon.
The audience claps at the mention of Mika’s name, as she approaches to receive the Bronze Ribbon. Meanwhile, Taari, Reginald, and Elena clap as Mika enters the stage and receives a Bronze Ribbon. Vishakha approaches her and pins the ribbon.
Vishakha: Congratulations, Mika. Your singing voice was amazing to get you this far.
Mika: Thank you so much, Vishakha.
The two smile at each other and exchange hugs afterwards.
I.R.I.S.: For second place, we have Zh’en and his Sableye!!
The audience cheers loudly at the mention of Zh’en’s name. She happily enters the stage while Taari cheers loudly from his seat. Reginald and Elena smirk at him. Vishakha approaches Zh’en and pins the ribbon.
Vishakha: That was a perfect first performance, Zh’en. You have a bright future ahead of you. Keep it up.
Zh’en: Thank you, Vishakha!
The two exchange hugs with a smile.
I.R.I.S.: And finally, the moment we’ve been waiting for. For first place, we have… Blight and his Noivern!!
The audience bursts into a deafening cheer. Taari, Reginald and Elena lose their minds and started jumping around. Kaitlyn, Mika and Zh’en clap excitedly while Katherine covers her mouth with her hands and cries tears of joy as Blight runs to the stage. He and Vishakha grin at each other proudly. Vishakha then pins the ribbon on his outfit.
Vishakha: Congratulations, Jester. You really are awesome! I told you that you won’t regret this decision. I saw the thrill in your eyes earlier.
Blight: Heh. Thanks, your Highness. And you’re right; I don’t regret it. It’s the most fun I’ve had all year.
Blight reaches for a handshake but Vishakha shrugs it off. Instead, she pulls her uncle into a tight hug. Blight smiles and hugs her back.
I.R.I.S.: That’s it for Ursidae Town’s Contest. The next contest takes place in Aegis Town. Till next time, ladies and gentlemen! Thank you and good night!

After the contest ends, Kaitlyn is backstage and leans onto a wall. Vishakha enters and sees her.
Vishakha: Hey...
Kaitlyn: Oh, hey, Vishakha...
Even though Kaitlyn tries her best to hide it, Vishakha can still see her sadness.
Vishakha: Kaitlyn... you’re...
Kaitlyn: I know... I know... I lost...
Vishakha pulls Kaitlyn in a comforting embrace and tries to lift her spirits up.
Kaitlyn: I didn’t even get to be in the top three....
Vishakha: Sshh... don’t think about that too much. Just keep moving forward. Failing hurts. I know. I’ve been there. But someone once told me; “One will never know true success without first knowing failure.” And from that moment, I didn’t let my failures break me. Instead, I let them teach me, train me into someone better.
The two girls pull away.
Kaitlyn: You really think that I’ll be as good as you?
Vishakha: Yeah... Heck, maybe you’re even better!
Kaitlyn giggles and smiles.
Kaitlyn: Thank you, Vishakha...
Vishakha: There we go! A smile!
The two pull each other into another hug and rejoin the others.

After the contest, the kids are hanging around the lobby. Hugs are exchanged as the kids start to congratulate Mika, Kaitlyn and Zh’en.
Reginald: That was truly the best contest I’ve seen so far.
Kaitlyn: I’m so excited for the Grand Festival.
Mika: Me too!
Taari smiles and turns to Zh’en.
Taari: I hope you get to join the Grand Festival, Zh’en!
Zh’en: Yeah... I hope so too.
Zh’en smiles at Taari with confidence. Mika and Kaitlyn nod at each other and approach the Vaanti girl.
Mika: We’ll give you a chance, Zh’en.
Zh’en: Hmm?
Kaitlyn: It means that Mika and I won’t participate in the next contest, since we already have a place in the Grand Festival.
Zh’en: Really?
Mika: Mhm!
Blight: Plus, you have a higher chance of winning first place if the three of us don’t enter.
The kids turn to Blight.
Taari: You’re not participating in the next contest, Sir Blight?
Blight: Nope. I have more pressing matters in Aegis Town. Like speaking with Aleister.
Reginald: My father?
Blight: Yep. He hired me for a special Rourke International project. It’s classified.
Kaitlyn: Do your best and good luck then!
Blight: Thanks.
Vishakha approaches the group.
Vishakha: Come on. We’re having an buffet special in the hotel. You guys must be so hungry.
The stomachs of the kids growl and they laugh at each other. They join up with Blight, Vishakha, Katherine and the rest of the Aryndelle Princesses for a celebration. The group spends the entire night, bonding and partying to their heart content. They eventually go to sleep and get a good night’s rest.
The next day, Taari, Reginald, Kaitlyn and Elena are gathered in front of the Ursidae Gym. They all take a deep breath and nod at each other with determination.
Taari: Ready?
Reginald: Absolutely.
Kaitlyn: Yeah!
Elena: Let’s do this!
Taari grins and looks at the Gym.
Taari: Here we go!

Autumn has arrived and the kids are on their way to their next step towards the Pokémon League. Seconds before the arrival of the sea guardian, Elena walks around Orderve City in her new Autumn outfit.
Recommended Music: The Hunted (ES)
Dark storm clouds then cover the entire skyline. Elena looks up and speculates that something is bringing the storm with it. She then hears someone shout from afar.
Voice: EVACUATE THE AREA! NOW!!
Elena turns to the source of the voice and squints her eyes. She spots Blight and the others at the Orderve Pier.
Elena: It’s everyone!
Meanwhile back at the pier, everyone discusses.
Meg: What’s wrong? What’s with that Gyarados?
Reginald: That particular Gyarados just so happens to be the Sea Guardian of La Huerta.
Taari: It’s also... corrupted.
Everyone looks at each other worried and in fear. Meanwhile, Absol comes out of Mika’s pokéball and points towards the storm.
Absol: Sol! (Disaster!)
Everyone stares at her and quickly shows their expressionless faces. Absol smiles as the discussion continues.
Mika: What do we do?
Kaitlyn: We need to call my parents! They were able to defeat the Sea Guardian ten years ago.
Kaitlyn quickly reaches for her phone but soon realizes that there is no signal.
Blight: It’s disrupting our communications.
Vishakha: What do we do now?!
Reginald: They couldn’t have gotten that far when we left the resort. They should see the storm soon.
Rachel: We have to distract it first before they get here then.
Izzy: We also need to keep everyone safe from the storm.
Bystanders start to walk away from the pier. Gyarados then roars and unleashes the storm. Balls of orange electricity start to coalesce in the darkened sky and explode in a crackle of sparks. Meanwhile, strong winds start to stream and rain starts to drop. The bystanders then start to run away as far as possible while trying to avoid the sparks of electricity. Aryn grits her teeth and yells a plan at the group.
Aryn: It’s now or never! Vishakha, Blight, distract the Guardian until Taylor and the others get here! The rest of us will help the citizens!
Blight: Wha... WHAT?!
Vishakha: Us?!
Aryn: Now’s not the time for discussions. I chose you two because I know you can do it.
Worried looks fade from the faces of the two best friends and determination replaces it. They nod at each other then back to Aryn.
Blight: You can count on us.
Vishakha: Be careful, Mommy.
Vishakha runs up to Aryn and gives her a tight embrace. Meanwhile, Katherine approaches Blight and takes his hand. He turns to her.
Blight: Kath, I...
Before he could finish, she interrupts him with a soft, tender kiss. They cling on each other lovingly before pulling away.
Katherine: I love you, Blight. Stay safe... for me.
Blight: I love you too, Kath. And don’t worry. I will.
Katherine’s doubts disappear as she smiles at Blight.
Katherine: Go get ‘em, Tiger.
Aryn gently grabs Katherine’s arm and pulls her away. Meanwhile, Vishakha pinches Blight’s ear and pulls him towards the end of the pier.
Aryn: Okay, lovebirds. Save “that” AFTER we save the city.
Vishakha: That’s enough, Romeo. You can have your time with Juliet later.
Katherine giggles while Blight suffers from pain. Vishakha lets loose of her grip as Blight glares at her before walking towards the pier. The rest of the group join up with Aryn.
Aryn: Alright, Meg, Mika and Kaitlyn, you three head towards that Ferris Wheel and helped those people trapped in there!
Meg: Yes, Mom!
Meg and the two girls rush towards the Ferris Wheel.
Aryn: Rachel, Taari and Reginald, you three keep the storm away from the citizens.
Rachel: You got it, Mommy!
Rachel and the two boys head to the center of the area and wait for the storm.
Aryn: Izzy, Katherine, we’ll help in the evacuation.
Izzy: Right.
Katherine: Understood!
Recommended Music: Fury of the Storm (Monster Hunter)
The group disperse and go on with their tasks. Meanwhile, back at the pier, Blight and Vishakha reach the end of it. As Gyarados approaches the pier, it begins to charge an attack from its mouth.
Vishakha: Here it comes!
Blight: Tch! It’s gonna use Hyper Beam!
Blight reaches for his pokéball and throws it in front of him.
Blight: Steelix, use Iron Tail!
Steelix quickly comes out of his Pokémon and his tail starts to glow white. As Gyarados fires Hyper Beam at the group, Steelix uses Iron Tail to parry the attack, sending it upwards.
Vishakha: Good thinking, Jester.
Vishakha reaches for their pokéball and throws it in front of her.
Vishakha: Let’s do this, Mawile!
Mawile comes out and lands gracefully.
Vishakha: Use Thunder Punch!
Mawile’s fist start to charge with electricity as she leaps towards Gyarados. She swings her arm towards the Atrocious Pokémon, attempting to land an attack. However, even with its large size, Gyarados was still able to swiftly evade Mawile’s Thunder Punch. Vishakha and Blight are startled by this.
Vishakha: What?! How is it THAT fast?!
Blight: I guess that’s how strong a Guardian of La Huerta is.
Gyarados’s tail then glows blue and strikes Mawile with Aqua Tail.
Vishakha: Mawile!
Mawile is launched towards the sea.
Blight: Damn! Steelix, use your tail to catch her!
Vishakha: Mawile, on your feet!
Mawile regains composure while Steelix uses his tail to reach Mawile’s trajectory. She then lands on the tail. Vishakha then looks at Blight
Vishakha: I got a plan.
Blight: Let’s do it then.
Vishakha: Mawile, hang on to Steelix.
Mawile opens her second head’s mouth and bites onto Steelix’s tail to hang on.
Blight: Now spin her around!
Steelix then spins his tail, preparing to launch Mawile.
Vishakha: Now, let go and use Thunder Punch!
Mawile lets go of her grip and is launched towards Gyarados at high speeds. She then charges electricity on both of her fists as she makes her way.
Blight: Sync Combo Move...
Vishakha: Number 3...
Both: THUNDER SPEAR!!
Mawile is then covered entirely with electricity, turning into a form of a spear tip. Before it could react, Gyarados is pierced by the attack. It flinches backwards and roars at the two best friends, while they high five. Mawile manages to make her back to the pier using Fairy Wind to carry herself.
Meanwhile at the Ferris Wheel, Meg, Kaitlyn and Mika rushes to help a group of people stuck in it.
Citizen 1: Help us!
Citizen 2: Please!
Meg shouts back at the endangered citizens.
Meg: Don’t worry! We’ll save you!!
Meg feels Mika tapping her shoulder who then points to a set of unstable support legs at the foot of the Ferris Wheel.
Mika: The impact of the lightning strike must’ve been that.
Kaitlyn: We have to keep the Ferris Wheel standing until we save everyone in it!
The three girls nod at each other and grabs their pokéball. Mika ties her hair up and throws her ball along with Meg and Kaitlyn.
Meg: Go, Audino!
Kaitlyn: I’m counting on you, Riolu!
Mika: Let’s do this, Espeon!
The three Pokémon then come out of their pokéballs, ready to take action. Meg and Kaitlyn hurry towards the base of the Ferris Wheel, while Mika stays a few meters away.
Meg: Alright, Audino, use Ice Beam on the supports!
Kaitlyn: We’ll do the same too, Riolu. Use Ice Punch!
Audino starts to fire a cerulean beam at the supports of the Ferris Wheel. Ice starts to encase the supports, locking them in place. Meanwhile, Riolu clenches his fists as cold air starts to surround them. He then lightly jabs the rest of the supports and ice start to encased them. Mika then shouts at the citizens.
Mika: Alright, open the cabin doors and my Espeon will use Psychic to carry you down!
The citizens hesitate for a second but eventually nods. They then open the doors of the cabins and step by the edge.
Mika: Now! Espeon, use Psychic! Absol, use Icy Wind!
One by one Espeon carefully carries the citizens down from the cabins using telekinesis. While Absol summons cold winds to cushion them to the ground.
Meanwhile at the entrance of the pier, Rachel, Taari and Reginald watches the battle at the end of the pier.
Taari: Yeah! Go get ‘em, Mister Blight!
Rachel: Go, Sis!
Reginald: I haven’t seen this much trust and skill.
Rachel: Well, they are the best of friends.
Weak tornadoes start to form near the three trainers while lightnings randomly strikes around the port. They then ready themselves and call out their Pokémon.
Rachel: I choose you, Froslass!
Taari: Come out, Grotle!
Reginald: Go, Monferno!
The three Pokémon then come out of their pokéballs, ready to face the harsh conditions of the storm.
Rachel: Okay, now follow my lead.
The two boys nod at Rachel.
Rachel: Use Blizzard, Froslass!
As the tornadoes spin clockwise, Froslass summons a blizzard. Cold winds start to spin counterclockwise. With this tactic, Froslass manage to dissipate three tornadoes. The boys nod at each other and do the same.
Taari: Grotle, use Leaf Storm!
Reginald: Use Fire Spin, Monferno!
Grotle summons cyclones of leaves, spinning counterclockwise, and sends them towards the remaining tornadoes. On the other hand, Monferno summons cyclones of embers and does the same. The tornadoes around them soon dissipate. Rachel then turns to the scattering lightning strikes.
Rachel: Now to take care of these...
Taari: I have an idea.
Rachel and Reginald turn to Taari, curious. The Vaanti boy then turns to his Grotle.
Taari: Use Leech Seed, Grotle!
Grotle nods and plants multiple seeds on the ground. Multiple trunks then rise from the ground. They then tower over the three and their Pokémon. Soon after, the lightning strikes eventually hit the top of the trunks.
Reginald: I see, lightning rods. Good thinking, Taari.
Taari grins and the three await for more tornadoes to form.
Meanwhile somewhere slightly further away from the port, Aryn, Izzy and Katherine lead the citizens to safety.
Aryn: Everyone, head towards that area! For those of you who have Pokémon big enough for people to ride on, call them out now so we could move faster!
Aryn calls out her Pancham and Glaceon to lead them towards the designated area, with Glaceon using Mirror Coat as a light source and Pancham guiding everyone.
Izzy calls out her Dragonair and Eevee.
Izzy: Eevee, use Iron Tail and give us some light. Dragonair, take these people to that area.
Dragonair nods and lets the citizens mount her then slithers towards the safe area. Meanwhile, Eevee’s tail glows and leads the way for Dragonair and the running citizens. On the other hand, Katherine calls out her Oshawott.
Katherine: Okay, Oshawott. Use Razor Shell and help Eevee guide those people.
Oshawott nods and pulls out his shell. The shell then glows blue, giving a source of light. He then follows Eevee while Katherine helps the other citizens.
Back at the end of the pier, Blight and Vishakha continue to keep Gyarados at bay.
Blight: Steelix, use Combo #6, Thunder Tail!
Steelix’s fangs start to charge with electricity then bites his own tail, coating it with electricity. The tail then glows yellow, forming a lightning blade. He then charges towards Gyarados and swings his tail towards its head. However, Gyarados manages to duck and avoid the attack.
Blight: Damn!
The Guardian’s fangs are then surrounded by cold air as it bites Steelix’s tail. Ice Fang manages to insulate the electricity from the tail. With its fangs still on Steelix’s tail, Gyarados swings him around and Blight gets hit.
Blight: Woah!!
Vishakha: Jester!
Blight, hanging still on Steelix’s head, gets thrown with him to the sea by Gyarados. Vishakha runs towards the very end of the pier with her hand trying to reach her best friend.
Vishakha: Blight, no!!
Vishakha then glares at the Sea Guardian and clenches her fist.
Vishakha: You’re gonna pay for that!!
Feeling her partner’s rage, Mawile then leaps to the air, preparing to attack. Gyarados exchange looks with Mawile and fires a Hyper Beam at her.
Vishakha: Send it back with Metal Burst!
Mawile lets her self gets hit by the Hyper Beam. She then harnesses the attack, converting it to metallic energy. She then throws the empowered attack back at Gyarados. The Sea Guardian is struck by the attack and fall backwards into the sea. Seconds have passed and Vishakha and Mawile stand there, waiting.
Vishakha: Is it over?
She speculates.
Vishakha: No... it can’t be THAT easy...
Suddenly, a light glows underneath the sea. Vishakha spots this and takes a few steps backwards.
Vishakha: Get ready, Mawile...
Recommended Music: Fight or Flight (ILITW)
As they prepare themselves, the light then bursts. Gyarados rises again from the sea as it glows.
Vishakha: Don’t tell it’s...
Vishakha knows what’s going on. The Sea Guardian is Mega Evolving.
After the process, Gyarados menacingly approaches the pier.
Vishakha: Tch! This is bad...
Gyarados roars and the storm becomes worse. Strong winds start to blow from behind Gyarados. Vishakha and Mawile brace themselves.
Vishakha: This is REALLY bad!
Back at the Ferris Wheel, Absol comes out of her pokéball once again and points towards the sky.
Absol: Absol! (Watch out!)
Mika turns to her.
Mika: What is it, girl?
Suddenly, lightnings start to appear. The girls notice this but before they could react, a stray lightning strikes the supports. The Ferris Wheel then begins to tilt to the side, eventually falling towards Mika and Espeon. Meg, Kaitlyn and their Pokémon quickly rushes towards her.
Kaitlyn: MIKA!!
Meg: NO!!
Mika: ESPEON, PSYCHIC NOW!!
Espeon begins to release a massive burst of psyhic energy as she not only stops the Ferris Wheel but also the people falling from it. However, she starts to struggle with pain as she could not fully control her power with so much weight. She hurriedly carries the rest of the citizens down from the ride while Absol helps her.
Meanwhile back at the pier’s entrance, the tornadoes and lightnings grow stronger, making it more difficult to suppress them. The lightning strikes eventually destroys all of the trunks planted by Grotle.
Rachel: Oh no!
Reginald: Tch!
Taari: Grotle, keep using Leech Seed!
Grotle attempts to plant more trunks but due to the strong winds, the seeds are instead blown away rather than being planted on the ground.
Taari: Damn it!
On the other hand, in the safe area, Aryn and the others look over to her daughters and friends.
Aryn: For fuck’s sake! The storm is getting worse!
Aryn quickly stands up and begins to rush towards them.
Aryn: I gotta...
Before she could finish, someone else rushes past her and towards the vanguard.
Izzy: Is that...?!
Aryn: ELENA!!
Elena ignores Aryn as she makes her way towards the end of the pier. Meanwhile back at the end of the pier, as Mega Gyarados approaches, it starts to charge another Hyper Beam attack, only this time, it’s stronger. Vishakha grits her teeth.
Vishakha: I don’t think we can shoot this back without risking Mawile...
Before Gyarados could fire, it was first struck by a galvanic sphere. It flinches backwards and instead fires the Hyper Beam upwards. Vishakha turns to the source of the attack and spots her sister, Elena.
Elena: No one hurts my sister!

The two sisters rush towards each other and give each other a tight embrace.
Vishakha: I’m so glad you’re here!
Elena: You saved me before, li’l Sis. It’s time for me to return the favor.
The two then pull away and turn to the the Sea Guardian, trying to get up.
Elena: How do we keep that occupied while making it easier for the others to save everyone and call for help?
Vishakha: We have to lead it away from the pier.
The two girls start to look around the pier. Elena then spots something.
Elena: There!
She points towards an old but still functional pirate ship.
Vishakha: Is that...?!
Elena: The Dorado.
Vishakha: THE Dorado?! The famous ship that Mister Jake and the others used to defeat the previous Sea Guardian?!
Elena: The very same.
They quickly hurry towards the ship and eventually sails it towards the open sea. The Sea Guardian takes the bait and begins chasing after the Dorado.
Elena: We got its attention... now what?
Before Vishakha could reply, a beam of light bursts from the sea. Everyone in the entire port spots the light. Vishakha and Katherine grin as they both know what that very light signifies. From beneath the sea, a slender figure starts to rise. Its metallic body shimmers from the light while is red eyes start to gleam. Meanwhile, a lone person stands atop this figure. It’s Blight and his Steelix. Blight clutches his key pendant and taps his Mega Stone. He then chants.
Blight: Wreak havoc, Tyrant of the Desert... Steelix, MEGA EVOLVE!!
Light within Steelix’s body start to glow brighter, covering his entire body, as he begins to undergo Mega Evolution.
After the process, Steelix lets out a terrifying roar, enough to push Gyarados slightly back, while Vishakha and Elena raise their arms to brace themselves. They then turn to each other.
Elena: It’s time for us to let loose as well.
Vishakha: Yeah!
Vishakha clutches her star pendant while Elena clutches her left fist, wearing her glove. They both tap their Mega Stones and begin to chant.
Vishakha: No more nice girl! Time to unleash the Rebel! With a blossom glow and a hard core….Mawile, MEGA EVOLVE!
Elena: In my time of need, aid me Goddess of Lightning and bring down the thunder… Ampharos, MEGA EVOLVE!!
Mawile and Ampharos begin to glow as well, beginning to undergo Mega Evolution.
After the process, Mawile jumps high and lands next to Blight on top of Steelix head. He grins towards the Deceiver Pokémon and leaps off Steelix. He then activates his thruster boots and flies his way to the Dorado.
Blight: You guys got this!
Steelix and Mawile nod at him as he regroups with Vishakha, Elena and Ampharos.
Blight: Alright... LET’S DO THIS!!
Vishakha: YEAH!!
Elena: YEAH!!
The three turn their attention to the Sea Guardian as it glares towards Steelix and Mawile.
Elena: Ampharos, use Double Team then Zap Cannon!
Ampharos duplicates herself and, along with her clones, begins charging a galvanic sphere in her mouth before firing towards Gyarados. The Atrocious Pokémon spots the incoming attacks and initiates evasive maneuvers. Meanwhile, with the Sea Guardian distracted, Blight and Vishakha take action.
Blight: Steelix, use Thunder Fang on your tail!
Steelix’s fangs charge up with electricity as he bites his tail and coats it. The crystalline tail shines yellow.
Vishakha: Now, Mawile! Jump onto Steelix’s tail and bite it!
Mawile does what she is told. After biting Steelix’s tail with her two fanged heads, electricity begins to surge within her.
Blight: Now, throw her, Steelix!
Steelix spins his tail as Mawile holds on to him. He then swings it and launches Mawile towards Gyarados.
Vishakha: Alright! Use Metal Burst!
Mawile bursts out a bright yellow light and uses 80% of the electricity within her to empower herself. She then transfers the power into her fist and places them in front of her as she makes her way towards Gyarados.
Blight: True Sync Combo Move...
Vishakha: Number 3...
Both: STORM BREAKER RICOCHET!!
Mawile, covered entirely with electricity empowered by Metal Burst, turns into a form of a spear tip. Before it could react, Gyarados is pierced by a more powerful variation of Thunder Spear. As it flinches, Mawile uses Fairy Wind to stop in mid-air then uses Thunder Punch to recharge the electricity within her. She then uses Fairy once again to launch herself towards Gyarados and Metal Burst to empower her fists again. As she pierces the Sea Guardian once again, she keeps repeating the process.
Recommended Music: Fight or Flight (ILITW)
Meanwhile back at the Ferris Wheel, with only a few citizens left to save, Espeon keeps her hold while she brings them to Absol’s Icy Wind cushion. Mika worries about Espeon.
Mika: I’m so sorry, Espeon... but just hang on a little longer...
Espeon: Purr...
Meanwhile, Kaitlyn and Meg run around the Ferris Wheel with their Pokémon, creating ice pillars beneath the turned over Ferris Wheel to provide Espeon support.
Meg: Keep using Ice Beam, Audino!
Kaitlyn: Ice Punch, Riolu!
After a few seconds, Espeon and Absol manage to save all of the passengers of the Ferris Wheel. However, as soon as the last passenger escapes the vicinity, a lightning strikes the center of the Ferris Wheel, strongly pushing it downwards. The ice pillars break and Espeon lets go of her grip over the ride. The Ferris Wheel begins to fall towards Mika and her Pokémon. Kaitlyn and Meg attempt to reach her.
Kaitlyn: MIKA!!!!
Meg: NO!!!!
But before the Ferris Wheel could crash on the three, Riolu quickly rushes towards them and begins to glow. Kaitlyn’s eyes brighten from the sight.
Kaitlyn: Riolu, you’re... you’re evolving!
Riolu starts to undergo evolution and quickly evolves to Lucario.
Lucario then clenches his fist as cold air surrounds it. He then uses Ice Punch on the ground and gigantic shards of ice start to rise from it. The shards hold the Ferris Wheel in place. Mika and Kaitlyn marvel at the shard formation, noticing that the scale is similar to what Reginald’s Metagross made in the Pokélympics. Mika and her Pokémon then look at Lucario.
Mika: Thank you, Lucario.
Espeon: Meww!
Absol: Sol!
Lucario nods at them and looks at the Ferris Wheel. He then turns to Audino.
Lucario: Rar!
Audino grins and nods at Lucario and rushes beside him. The rest look at them in confusion.
Kaitlyn: Lucario? What are you doing?
Meg: What’s up, Audino?
Lucario and Audino begin to use Psychic at the Ferris Wheel, lifting it up. Lucario then stares at Kaitlyn and nods towards the end of the pier. Kaitlyn looks at the ensuing battle and understands quickly.
Kaitlyn: You’re going to throw THAT to the Sea Guardian?!
Lucario grins and, along with Audino, quickly throws the Ferris Wheel towards the Sea Guardian.
Meanwhile at the pier’s entrance, Rachel, Taari and Reginald struggle on the empowered tornadoes and lightning strikes.
Taari: We can’t even do anything right now!
Rachel: What do we do?!
Reginald: I have an idea. Go, Metagross! Use a full-powered Psychic!
Reginald throws another pokéball and Metagross comes out of his pokéball. He then immediately releases a burst of telekinetic energy. The strong tornadoes freeze in place but the lightning strikes are still present. Reginald turns to Rachel and Taari.
Reginald: Quick! While Metagross is occupying the tornadoes, get rid of them and hit the lightning strikes before they hit the ground!
The two nod at the boy as they call out their second partners.
Taari: Let’s go, Gallade!
Rachel: Come out, Blastoise!
The three then give their commands.
Rachel: Froslass, use Ice Shards at the lightning strikes! Blastoise, you do the same with Hydro Pump!
Taari: Grotle, use Seed Bomb on the lightning strikes! Gallade, slash those tornadoes in half with Psycho Cut!
Reginald: Monferno, use Fire Blast on the incoming lightning!
The five Pokémon take action. Gallade unleashes his elbow blades and sends multiple pink crescent blades at the frozen tornadoes. After taking enough hits, the tornadoes dissipate. Meanwhile, Froslass sends large shards of ice towards the incoming lightning strikes. The lightning strikes hit the shards, being prevented from hitting the ground. Blastoise fires a jet of water from his cannons and produces a similar result. Grotle throws explosive seeds towards the sky, while Monferno fires a “大” shaped flame. Both resulting in success. After the settling the storm, the three trainers high five. They then turn towards the ongoing fight at the end of the pier.
Rachel: Now, we have to help them...
Recommended Music: Adventurer’s Theme (ES)
Meanwhile back at the end of the pier, Mawile and Ampharos keep striking Gyarados with their respective attacks. On the other hand, Steelix charges a Hyper Beam and fires it towards the Atrocious Pokémon. Gyarados flinches once again and Blight, Vishakha and Elena cheer.
Blight: Direct hit!
Vishakha: Wooh!
Elena: Alright!
The Sea Guardian has had enough and lets out a menacing roar. Mawile loses composure and falls in the sea. Meanwhile, Ampharos covers her ears while her clones disappear due to the roar. Gyarados then attempts to summon a hurricane. Blight grits his teeth.
Blight: Damn it! Everyone brace!
But before they could do anything, the Ferris Wheel collides with Gyarados’s head. The Atrocious Pokémon staggers and loses control of the hurricane as the Ferris Wheel falls into the sea. The three trainers look at the trajectory and sees Meg, Kaitlyn and Mika waving at them.
Vishakha: They did it!
Elena: As expected.
Blight: They just might pull of the League and contests...
Gyarados then shakes its head and attempts to regain control of the hurricane. However, psychic energy begins to take control of the hurricane. Blight, Vishakha and Elena turn towards the entrance of the pier and see Reginald’s Metagross using Psychic on the hurricane. The hurricane is then sent towards Gyarados’s abdomen. It then lifts the Sea Guardian up into the air. Blight then looks up at Gyarados.
Blight: Alright, let’s finish this! Steelix, go after it and use Thunder Tail!
Vishakha: You too, Mawile! Use Focus Punch!
Steelix readies himself and leaps up towards the Sea Guardian. Mawile, on the other hand, leaps from the sea at high speeds and reaches Gyarados’s head. Steelix bites his tail with Thunder Fang and proceeds to use Iron Tail with electricity coated in his tail. Meanwhile, Mawile clenches her fist as it starts to glow blue. Blight and Vishakha begins to think to themselves.
Blight’s Mind: Even if...
Vishakha’s Mind: We’re against a Guardian...
Mawile uses Fairy Wind to boost herself towards Gyarados’s face while Steelix manages to reach Gyarados and begins to swing his tail.
Blight’s Mind: ...and with only Steelix’s tail...
Vishakha’s Mind: ...and with only Mawile’s fist...
Steelix swings his electricity-coated tail on the side of Gyarados’s abdomen and Mawile punches Gyarados square in the face.
Both: THAT’S ENOUGH FOR ME!!
Aryn watches from afar and smiles at the two’s teamwork.
Aryn: As expected from such great friends...
After being struck with such strong attacks, Gyarados falls unconscious but doesn’t revert to its regular form. Elena, however, takes the opportunity.
Elena: Now’s our chance!
Unfortunately, the Sea Guardian regains consciousness and immediately uses Ice Fang on Steelix. But the Iron Snake Pokémon manages to quickly tilts his head to the side, avoiding the attack.
Blight: One more time, Steelix!
Elena: Use a full-powered Signal Beam, Ampharos!
Ampharos fires a massive prismatic beam towards Gyarados. But before it could reach it, Steelix swings his tail once again and strikes the side of the abdomen one more time. Gyarados vision starts to blur as it begins reverting back to its regular form, but not before being struck by Ampharos’s Signal Beam. Gyarados then falls completely unconscious and falls into the sea.
Recommeded Music: At Dawn, We Rise (ES)
The Sea Guardian reverts back to normal as Steelix and Mawile land safely. The three other Mega Pokémon also reverts back to normal. Blight sails the Dorado towards the unconscious Sea Guardian. The three trainers then slowly approach it.
Vishakha: Did we win?
Elena: I think so...
Suddenly, a voice calls out to them.
Voice: Hey!!
They turn to see Taylor, Jake and Quinn at the end of the pier.
Taylor: You guys get back to shore!
Jake: We’ll take it from here.
Blight nods and returns Steelix to his pokéball. Vishakha and Elena do the same. The three then sail the Dorado back to the pier. Quinn then begins to channel her powers and floats towards the unconscious Guardian. She places her hand on its forehead.
Quinn: I purge you from your corruption, Guardian. You are now free from darkness.
Quinn manages to free Gyarados from corruption. After a few seconds, the Sea Guardian wakes and thanks Quinn. It then roars to clear the storm.
Recommended Music: Surf and Sand (ES)
Meanwhile at the port, the group reunites. Aryn, Izzy, Vishakha, Rachel, Meg and Elena pull each other into a loving family hug.
Aryn: You were all so amazing out there!
Izzy: We are so proud of you.
Vishakha: Thank you so much, Mommies!
Rachel: I love you!
Meg: Aryndelle for life!
Elena: Aryndelle FOREVER!!
Meanwhile, Taari, Kaitlyn, Mika and Reginald high five each other.
Taari: You guys were so overwhelming!
Kaitlyn: Thanks, Taari. But you guys were too, you know.
Mika: I’m still so happy about Kaitlyn’s Lucario evolving.
Reginald: Agreed. Congrats, Kaitlyn.
Kaitlyn: Thanks, guys!
And lastly, Blight and Katherine share a soft and tender kiss.
Katherine: You were... amazing out there, dear.
Blight: Hehe... thank you.
The two smile at each other while the rest of the group backs away.
Vishakha: Let’s... uhh... give those two some space. Haha.
As the clouds part, the sunset brightens the entire sky. Everyone turns to admire the sunset. Taari’s eyes light up with determination.
Taari: ...Autumn is here!
Meanwhile from atop the Orderve City Lighthouse, a familiar man with a goatie looks through a pair of binoculars.
Man: So... it has begun...
Autumn has come and a new adventure starts for our heroes! What will happen next on their way to Quarr’tel Town? FIND OUT NEXT TIME ON THE NEXT CHAPTER OF POKÉMON AUTUMN VERSION!!
