"Something is not right, and my intuition is never wrong."
Main Character Syndrome AU, and contest hosted, by @inspiredpixels !! I might've gone a little all out thinking about my sillies in the AU haha 😅 It was a lot of fun though!!! I'm also very very excited to see more of the AU in the future! More of my shenanigans are under the cut, including Leon and Prin's full designs,,,
[YOU HAVE UNLOCKED NEW RESEARCH]
"Keel? It's unusual to see you so worked up. What's the matter?"
"Rodger! You wouldn't believe the journey I had. Usually I have no problems traversing the depths by myself however... Well just look at the photos I managed to get."
Main Character Twisted Leon
Once rare and competitive, this Twisted's ferver has only intensified. Be warned; he is willing to use any means necessary to 'win'. At what? ...We have no idea.
Mechanic:
Like the original twisted, Twisted Leon's walk and chase speed match that of the fastest other Twisted on the floor (not including Lethals, average speed if all other twisteds are stationary). However, now Twisted Leon gains a temporary boost to speed upon initiating a chase, gaining Speed 2 for one second upon spotting a Toon.
Turning to sabotage as a means to catch up to his 'opponents', upon being hit by this Twisted, the injured Toon will be afflicted with Slow I and Tired II for 3 seconds.
Main Character Twisted Princilla
Once common and angered, this Twisted believes all other Toons to be wholly incompetent at their work.
It's advised to complete a floor with her quickly and efficiently, and to never leave a machine unattended lest she decide to 'fix' it herself.
Mechanic:
Like Twisted Shelly, Main Twisted Prin applies a floor-wide debuff to Skill Check size called Pressured. Like her original Twisted, she can hear failed skillchecks from anywhere on the floor.
Additionally, if a machine is left semi-complete and unattended for too long, Twisted Prin will find her way over to it, draining much of the progress in an attempt to 'fix' the machine.
...
"Leon, you're not exaggerating? The Twisteds are becoming much more dangerous all of a sudden?"
"Yeah! The last run I was on was no joke! I didn't think a Twisted of all things was gonna be tricky enough to actually compete with me!"
"And no one knows why?"
"Still tryin to figure that out I think, yeah!"
"...Next time you go on one of the runs, I'd like to come with you."
"What!? But you never go on runs, Prin!"
"That should be a sign of how important this is then. I'd like to get a look at them myself."
Something about realizing that you're not like the person you used to be.
Prepare for rambling about my ocs (maybe) because I want to try and cure my writers/artists block ragh
Something I've thought about a bit is how Leon and Prin are pretty opposite in terms of character, but they kinda have similar struggles. Both of them go through big shifts in personality during the shutdown. Prin's temper worsens, and Leon starts to have a lot of self-doubt.
I think that realization that they've fallen so far from their selves or their 'roles' (in Leon's case) would haunt them quite a bit. They'll never fully be who they used to idealize themselves as now, and that's a hard realization to come to.
I think while Prin's somewhat accepted that fact, though moreso in a defeated way, Leon's still distancing himself from the thought of never being the champion he used to be. After all, he's supposed to be the coach and cheerleader of the others. He's supposed to challenge them. How can he do that though if he's no longer a challenge in his competitions? At least, that's the reason he tries to convince himself of. It's not a comforting thought, but it's better than the truth that he misses winning his competitions most of the time.
For Prin it's almost a bit ironic to care so much about who she 'should' be, seeing as she very heavily advocates for not adhering to the expectations set for all the Toons. But it's harder to break out of your own expectations, and like Leon, she has a lot of standards she holds herself to. She used to have a reputation for being someone everyone could count on for many things, and while she certainly hasn't lost her knowledge - in fact, she spends most of her time post-shutdown trying to learn as much as possible - her reputation makes the others a lot less likely to come to her for anything. (That said, I imagine because of this, she's set up some kind of way for people to request her help without having to directly talk to her, though I think I'll think about that more when I think about her room,,)
Despite the fact that it's a struggle for them to get along because of Leon's occasional social missteps, and Prin's tendency to push people away if they don't leave at the first sign of danger, I do see them being pretty close, by Prin's terms anyway. Prin still takes Leon up on his antics when he asks for her help, and Leon, despite everything, still tries to be friendly to her. I really wanna write/draw more interactions between them in the future, because they're very fun together,,
“Princilla is a very talented toon, who uses her variety of skills from her many jobs to complete any tasks in front of her. She teaches children about various jobs and careers!”
She/Her, Female
Prin is a woman of many hats, her role in the show being to run whatever store or work on any job needed for the plot of an episode. Need a janitor? Gardiner? Trash collector? She has a pair of glasses for it! She changes her glasses when changing jobs or clocking in/out, and it's a bit from the show that she's just held on to.
Ironically, Prin hates the idea of doing what she was originally made for. What that exactly was is unclear, though it manifests in her refusing to extract on runs, and neglecting to use or mention her ability at all. This also includes a strong reaction to mentions of her functioning like a literal printer (joking or not). She'll quickly start an argument if someone tries to make her do something she doesn't want to.
Prin is generally chill with everyone, though she doesn't have many close friends. She can empathize with many of them, including Shrimpo somehow, but she has very little patience for ignorance and stupidity, and a very short and explosive temper, which is likely what prevents her from keeping friends for very long... Less distractions for her work, she supposes.
(more rambling below cut)
She used to be close friends with Tisha and Brusha before the incident that ultimately split the other two. Struggling to deal with the split, and the other two using her, Prin started to lose control of her temper more, and started to isolate from the other two. She still does small things in secret - Tisha arrives to calls that she finds already cleaned up. She still looks at Brusha's paintings and passes along her complements on the rare occasion they pass each other in the hall or the elevator.
She hangs out the most with Dyle, though despite their mutual respect, they can't really call each other 'friends', out loud at least. She often helps with unloading the trains and delivering supplies. She doesn't ask questions. Why should she be bothered to anyway? Other than him, she just wanders Gardenview on her own terms, completing maintenance and other little tasks she delegates herself to. She doesn't like to go to the depths. She also hates too much repetition in her life, and so will try to change up her schedule every once in a while if she can.
She's actually got a pretty friendly side to her. If her temper doesn't throw you off, she's a good listener, and she's got a bit of a sarcastic humor.

Active Ability: Copy Machine
This Toon can duplicate the last item she used for double the Dandy’s Shop cost of it in tapes. This ability can’t be used for items not found in the shop, or if her inventory is already full.
I haven't figured out her trinket either, but I think it would be fun to make it her glasses! Maybe some kind of small stat boost based on what the player is doing?
Twisted Prin is a common Twisted, with her only quirk being that she can hear a failed skill check from across the floor if not occupied. She gets to join Brusha and Tisha in commons who feel like they have a gimmick, and also gets to join Dyle in absolutely punishing someone over skill checks lol
I haven't drawn her Twisted in full yet, but! I do have this drawing which references it :)
Gonna make individual posts for em since there's so much to talk about haha
But quick fun facts, Leon was the first DW OC I made, Prin being the second, and Keel being last. Leon was designed with the idea of being a toon I would actually play in the game, meanwhile Prin and Keel started at just one-off thoughts that I ended up pursuing,,
They aren't part of a trio really other than being my OCs, though I do imagine they all have a mostly positive relationship with each other, and often get dragged into things together (usually by Leon)
I do have thoughts about potential Dragonview designs, and a side story involving them,, but they probably wont appear in the main story since it's very canon focused,,
Also fun fact, the song i'm doing my Leon animatic for is The Lady on The Moon by Noah Floersh, which coincidentally released around the same time as I was making Leon,, I highly recommend it!
I also have one scene of a potential animatic for Keel with Touch-Tone-Telephone by Lemon Demon, and possibly an idea of one for Prin with Everything At Once by Lenka,,,
