someone asked me if pvpzam's crown meant he believed he was the crown prince of the tridents. and that's the interesting thing
i want to say that's what he believes. yeah, he's a crown prince, destined ruler to this civilization, nobody else has a crown, and somewhere in these labyrinths there must be a throne for him to ascend. he has to have some reason for keeping this crown of his- nobody else has one. maybe this is so ancient of a concept it's been forgotten by recent generations. that's why there's nothing indicating a royal family was ever present in tridentciv. but no, he holds onto it, desperately, as tightly as he may hold onto the eternal trident, his rightful property, as crown prince. but there's a funnier option.
just hear me out. what if he also believes the crown is a remnant from a past civilization. allow me to cook i prawnmise i'm good at this
in pvpciv you wake up with nothing but whatever clothes you happen to wake up with, your head mounted on your wall, the weapon you clutch in your hand, and your name, etched into that same wall.
his name was 'prince zam'. he came into here with a crown.
so that must mean he had a throne he was previously going to occupy. that has to be the reason why he'd be called 'prince'. the vague memories attached to names give people hope to continue on, to fight, to live, to push forward and collect the eternal weapons. but zam's hope is unclear.
it is regal-sounding, elegant. something he'd write about in books he'd shove under his old bed at tridentciv, the life he wants to live, what he thinks being a prince is. maybe some words are predefined in their minds. killing, survival,
and most importantly, at least in zam's case, royalty.
zam is gifted the definition of royalty to shape his delusions and instead of doing that right away he chooses to shape his past. shape a home he might have once he wishes for it to return to him. he had to come from somewhere, right?
