c!sweaterduo has so much history and potential that it makes me viscerally desperate for some kind of canon acknowledgement from cc!sweaterduo. i know i’ll never get it but imagine. the fact that c!schlatt acts like he knows c!wilbur but c!wilbur pretends they’re strangers. there’s just some weird kind of hurt and awkwardness between them that doesn’t come from not knowing each other.
it has so much “childhood friends that had a huge falling out and never recovered”. c!wilbur is a prideful man constantly hungering authority and c!schlatt is the first domino to his complete collapse. c!wilbur was put together until c!schlatt took the first swing. you could argue that it was solely because of the exile and the formation of pogtopia that left c!wilbur a shell of a man and vengeful, but the seeds were already always there. it’s evident in quackity’s lore and their conversation before the election. c!wilbur cannot help but be his real self under the diplomacy and the charismatic grin when c!schlatt is involved!
