Continuing his statement, he said that, "As a person, I just like to be in my own zone. People say a lot of things about me. But those who know me know how I am. I don't have friends, and I don't like to make friends. This is what's happening with this generation. You can't share your thoughts with anyone else.

Prithvi Shaw Gets A Clean Chit From Mumbai Police In Sapna Gill’s Molestation Case

Prithvi Shaw, the young and talented Indian cricketer, has been cleared of the molestation allegation made by social media influencer Sapna Gill. The Mumbai police have told the court that Gill’s allegation is “false and unfounded” and that there is no evidence to support her claim.

The case dates back to February 15, 2023, when Shaw and his friends were having dinner at a hotel in Santacruz, Mumbai. Gill and her friend Shobhit Thakur approached Shaw for selfies, which he obliged initially. However, when they insisted on more selfies, Shaw refused and asked them not to disturb him. This angered Gill and Thakur, who were asked to leave the hotel by the manager.

According to the complaint filed by Shaw’s friend Ashish Yadav, Gill and Thakur, along with six others, attacked Shaw’s car with baseball bats and smashed the windows. They also followed Yadav’s car and threatened to file false cases against them if they did not pay Rs 50,000. Yadav lodged a complaint with the Oshiwara police station and eight people, including Gill and Thakur, were arrested under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Gill, however, denied the allegations and claimed that Shaw had molested her at a pub in Andheri and that he was carrying a stick on the road. She also approached the court for registration of a molestation case against Shaw and his friend.

However, the police investigation found no merit in Gill’s allegation and told the court that she had made it up to extort money from Shaw. The police also recovered the baseball bat and cricket bat that were used in the attack.

The court granted bail to Gill and three others on Monday, February 20, 2023. The case is still pending in the court.

This is a big relief for Shaw, who has been on a break from competitive cricket after India’s home series against New Zealand in January 2023. He was recalled to the T20I team for the series but did not get a chance to play. He has been in excellent form in the domestic circuit and is expected to make a comeback soon.

Shaw is one of the most promising batsmen in India and has already scored a Test century on debut against West Indies in 2018. He has also played in ODIs and T20Is for India and has impressed with his aggressive style of batting.
