One of the most important things about being a witch was the ability to dodge, in Parker’s personal opinion. Way too many demons just thought throwing some lethal ball of magic would take out a witch, but if you dodged, you’d be fine! Except, of course, if you had an innocent behind you and then you got a lovely set of electrical burns across your ribcage.
Slamming into the floor of her parents’ condo, Parker groaned in pain before shoving herself to her feet. Lurching forward, she grabbed the corner of the wall and turned just as the demon finished shimmering in after her. At least she’d been right that he’d be too busy chasing her to go after the innocent she’d sent the opposite direction. Too bad it’d cost her her only offensive power to do it. She really hated power copying.
The demon summoned another energy ball and Parker tensed, halfway between prepared for the blow and the pain that dodging would cause. She wasn’t really sure how well it’d even work, seeing as her vision was still a little spotty from her painful impact with the floor, but the demon paused as Phoebe was suddenly between the two.
Parker couldn’t have told you when her mother arrived, but the presence of a Charmed One was enough of a deterrent to at least make the demon pause. Parker, however, immediately reached for her. "Mom!”
