Controversial opinion: Captain Beauty is better than Rumbelle.

The first time I watched the show I thought Rumbelle were kinda cute, and I only watched the show until Rumplestiltskin was getting better and starting to "change", without being a complete villain. He had a few scenes where I didn't like him so much, but he was overall "okay" for me.

A few months ago I started rewatching the show again and- Oh man. I can't believe I once liked them together.

At first I thought the same as I did the first time "They are so cute" "They deserve to get together" and more things. And then, I saw season 4 and season 5. Where do I start? First, Rumplestiltskin "helped" Emma and she killed Hook, the man she loved, ONLY for Rumplestiltskin to appear with the actual dagger later? Seriously, fuck off, man. But that's not all.

No, no. That's not even the worst thing about him. The worst thing is that he MANIPULATED Belle, LIED to her, and PRETENDED he cared more about her than he cared about the power the dagger gave to him. He PRETENDED he was Hook to get the dagger AGAIN, dear God. Even after everything, even after what happened to Baelfire because of his obsession with power, he choose the dagger AGAIN. He learned NOTHING.

And then, there's Hook.

Hook, who tried to kill her when they were enemies, but the moment he redeemed, he treated Belle with RESPECT, he APOLOGIZED to her (and he MEANT his apology), and he told her to stay in his ship BECAUSE HE WANTED TO PROTECT HER AND MAKE AMENDS (and he did that despite Rumplestiltskin could get revenge on him btw). NOW THAT's a real man, and Belle deserved someone who treated her like Hook did. He was not perfect at the beginning, but he CHANGED for Emma, for the woman he loved, something Rumplestiltskin COULDN'T do, and THAT means a lot.

So again: Captain Beauty >>>>>>>>>> Rumbelle because Hook was TWICE the man (or even more times) Rumplestiltskin was. In general, AND to Belle.

And btw, you can like Rumplestiltskin all you want, but feeling sorry for HIM when HE hurt BELLE more than BELLE hurt him is honestly wild. (I honestly cannot understand Rumplestiltskin stans and Belle haters)

I’m sorry but I still don’t understand how you can love Regina AND Rumple yet hate Hook like he’s some Satan spawn. If you can love those two despite their monstrous acts-Hook is like an ant to their dinosaurs- yet still think Hook is worse...

I wonder, do A&E consider Regina to be "redeemed"? They always say hook is on a path to redemption, do the feel the same about Regina? Or is their favorite unrepentant mass murderer already "redeemed" in their eyes? Even though to them, Hook seemingly isn't.

my crack theory

So I personally believe that Killian had a hand in Charming’s dad’s death. I’ve had this theory for a while. Even before this season or information of this season appeared. It all started when Killian was explaining to Emma what his rings meant. I remember one of the stories sounding as if it could match the story of Charming’s father’s demise, (btw can we get this dude a name, that’s a mouthful). Anyways it was slightly confirmed for me once they mentioned at SDCC that Colin and Josh’s characters would be getting close and then something would rock the friendship. Add this to the fact that we’ve been seeing Charming investigate his dad’s death. I pretty much am guessing at Killian’s involvement full force now.

However, Killian isn’t one to just kill people without reason and I don’t think that the writers would make him due the killing, even if it is a flashback, because it would be too extreme at this far in to his redemption arc (even though killing Charming’s dad would parallel Regina killing Snow’s dad, and I can just imagine Snow trying to use this as an example for why he should forgive Killian if such things are true.) However I also think it’s entirely possible that Captain Nemo is the one who killed Charming’s dad and maybe Killian was a bystandard who “allowed it to happen” or “did nothing.”

So my theories are this:

1. Killian is not involved at all in the death of Charming’s dad (10% sure).

2. Killian directly killed Charming’s father (45% sure).

3. Captain Nemo did the physical Killing but Killian had a part in it. (45% sure).

Just one Clarification about Captain Hook, cause I do love him

Since people tend to think just beacause I hate Captain Swan....doesn't mean I hate Captain Hook. I love Colin's portrayal of the character and made him look like less like a dutz than he is in the Disney Movie.

BUT I do not reapeat DO NOT like him with Emma. There are thousands of other characters he is more compatable with like Regina, Ruby hell he's even got a shot with Belle. I feel with Emma he looks like a dirty old man looking to score with some chick which ruins a Character I love from the beginning.

I just wanted to clear the air with that assumption in case people are like my god you hate Hook...so not true. I loved him since I found out he was being played by the Actor who played Phllip of Bavaria in the Tudors XD

This whole debate about Hooks darkest secret being fake.

As stated by Colin, Hook is a sociopath.

Definition: a person with a personality disorder manifesting itself in extreme antisocial attitudes and behavior and a lack of conscience.

Anti-social behaviour is behaviour that lacks consideration for others and may cause damage to the society, whether intentionally or through negligence. This is opposed to pro-social behaviour, which is behaviour that helps or benefits the society.

Taking into consideration that Hook watched his brother die twice on a voyage for his King, and he watched Milah die in his arms, his true love, and then spent 300 years on Neverland planning his revenge, which, as we have seen, is a place where you are stuck in the past, it's not such a far stretch that his darkest secret was realizing he could love again after Milah. As a sociopath and pirate, in present day, Hook has been known to only look out for himself, so to realize that he can once again care for someone else, and maybe have romantic and noble intentions towards another woman would be a frightening thing. His whole arc in season 2 was to find Rumple and avenge Milah, but this season he's given up his revenge, sailed to Neverland to help his enemies save a boy without any guarantee that he will be rewarded, and now having feelings for a woman other than Milah and having to admit that to save the boy he gave up so long ago to save himself and his crew. Hook is going through a lot of character development, good and bad, and a lot of emotional adjustments in such a short amount of time, and he's probably scared of what effect that will have on him, because it's contradictory to this pirate persona that he's built up for so many years. The look Hook has right after Emma leaves is more than likely one of fearful realization. Just like the one Emma had in the cave when she realized Neal was alive and she would have to face all the feelings she's been ignoring. Just like the look Neal had back in Philip and Auroras castle when he remembered Emma was in danger and he needed to get back to her.

In short, if you take an unbiased look at Hooks situation, it is very in character for his darkest secret to be that Emma helped him realize he's moving on from the one person that kept him going for so long.
