The world hasn't gone to shit for being woke. You just believe in and think in a way the reflects regression instead of progression. You don't want the world to be a better place in a way that is slightly different than what you imagined so you would rather it stay shitty for everyone. Right-wing ideologies are only going to make the world worse but because you can't stand that some people are gay, some people are trans, some people are actually animals and some people don't make sense to your idea of humanity that you think everyone should suffer.

A rant, but necessary.

I'm special. And I'm not ashamed to say it, I won't be silenced into humility. We all are unique, unusual creatures. If I die, none of you will be able to replace me. And I won't be able to replace any of you. Knowing and accepting it is normal, it is a part of growing up and accepting yourself as a part of humanity.

And if you really think you are "just like everyone else", if you really want to be a part of an army of clones, you need help.

(Some) White straight males: So why are people still complaining about racism?

Activists: We need people to advocate and understand that black lives matter.

Scientists: Trauma can be carried through DNA and can be multi-generational.

(Some) white straight males: What does that have to do with the descendants of slaves?

Activists: We need to teach oppression as an unbroken chain. There were 400 years of slavery, followed by the failure of reconstruction and domestic terrorism from the KKK followed by the continuation of institutionalized racism and racial profiling that gave birth to the alt-right.

Also, I’d like to add something to my blog. I have no problems with Star Wars adding in more people of color. When the only character of color was Lando Calrissian for a long time and then later, Mace Windu of the prequel trilogy and I can literally name maybe about 5 characters that were people of color and all of them are male…. Yeah I’m fine with Black women coming into Star Wars. I have absolutely no problems with any person of color coming into Star Wars. It’s a galaxy. It’s big enough for everybody. It’s like when I saw the sequel trilogy and then Rey came on screen. That was the first time in my long fandom of Star Wars that I felt like that I could look at the character and say “oh yeah that’s me that perfectly represents me she may not look exactly like me, but it’s me.“ so characters that you know don’t look like me coming on? That’s fine. Somebody else will identify with them and love their character. And so far how they’ve been writing people of color have been pretty good actually.
