"erm you're enabling addiction" ah yes, because the tried and true method of demonizing and shaming addicts works so well! People are so fucking stupid man, they don't want to actually help or understand, they just want to feel superior.
It's all about feeling superior.
Looking at people who cope with substances or people who struggle with addiction and then thinking you are better than that person, is not the flex you think it is! /nay
Regarding that one anon, I'd really like to know, do you take painkillers when your body hurts? That's coping through a substance.
Are you on prescribed medication? That's also coping through substances.
Do you get a little jittery and perhaps a headache or fall into a foul mood when you don't have your coffee/energy drink? Congratulations, you're hooked on caffeine and are experiencing withdrawal.
Just because things like caffeine, nicotine, and, depending on your cultural background, alcohol are very much normalised in society, it doesn't mean that they're any less of substances people cope with and are substances that can be abused.
Being compassionate and open-minded with people struggling with substances is not enabling addiction.
