This is super rambling

There’s been a lot of....discourse....on my dash about how People are criticizing Kali/hating her while defending....he who shall not be named....

And I for one, have had enough....

Of people assuming that if you like one you hate the other? I’ve never seen one of the He Stans hating on Kali?

I love Kali (so so much) and....understand why people who are in shitty home situations do what they do.....without excusing their actions

Kali can kill however many bad men she wants bc guess what

Also fuck the US government and if me supporting Kali somehow influences the youth to go out and kill people who commit war crimes....

I really need there to be an understanding between Hopper and Kali by the end of this series. Both of them have a deep familial connection to El. But there is a HUGE difference between Kali and Hopper, as well as El’s other loved ones; Kali is the only one who grew up in and was tortured in a lab just like El. Kali isn’t saying what she feels because she’s a “BiG bAd TrEaChOrOuS vIlLiAn” it’s because she’s seen the horror inflicted upon innocent children and their mothers for the sake of science, her found family being killed, her hair, a symbol of her freedom being shaved off and she knows they won’t stop coming.

But I think the person who can help her realize that there is more to life than just fear is Max.

Kali is getting a lot of shit for calling Henry “brother” but that’s how Brenner taught the kids to see each other as; siblings. And El still calls Brenner “papa.” Kali felt alone until she found her friends.

Max also had an abusive older brother, a shitty abusive father figure, felt alone when she came to Hawkins until she made friends and joined the party.

Kali uses her real name and prefers to call El Jane because she feels more comfortable with human names rather than names based on numbers. Max also dislikes to be called Maxine and prefers Max.

Also, THEY LOVE EL!!!!!!!!

I just think it would be stupid to make her a villain or to have her sacrifice herself when it’s clear that she’s given up hope after losing everything and I think Max, as someone who shares a lot in common with her, including love for El, would be a good character to help her realize just how much there is to love and fight for rather than run from and give up in the finale. And after the hell Max has been through I think it only makes sense that she shows Kali that they can defeat Vecna instead of just laying down and dying.

I also just really don’t want a brown woman who has been tortured and abused to die or be a villain when we already have a villain, his name is Vecna.
