I don’t like how some of the stranger things fandom treats Jane , even since the show started . #noticing
like dats my baby do NOT
My sweeties...
Goodnight y'all
I can’t stop thinking about the fact that Jean had yo use her powers to keep Peter’s heart beating, just like Eleven did with Max… which I think is kind of ironic.
No idea why the Stranger Things fandom took to calling El, Jane as if theres anything in the show that states she wants to be called that. Like she stopped going by Jane the second she got back to Hawkins, because to her it was nothing but an Alias. A life she never lived. She never rejects any nane given to her. She doesnt even mind Eleven. Everyone fighting for her to be called Jane is nothing more than another mischaracterization.
WIP of Jane Hopper
Henderhop scenario where the party goes to the movies and watches The Princess Bride. Dustin and El get very into the movie, and they keep referencing it after. They develop this little gag eventually where El will ask for anything and Dustin will produce it saying "As you wish," just like Wesley in the movie, but making a big show of it.
One day, El is crying, and Dustin is worried. He asks if there's anything he can do for her, and she pulls him into a hug, crying into his shoulder. Dustin is stunned, at first, but then hugs her back and whispers "As you wish" into her shoulder. El breaths out a little laugh in the midst of her crying.
The gag loses steam after that. Instead of Dustin doing a whole performance of getting something for El and her giggling about it, Dustin just says the words and El just smiles at him. It becomes a normal part of their interactions.
And then, at some point, El asks him for something, and just like in the movie, Dustin looks at her meaningfully before saying, in the softest possible way, "As you wish." And El truly understands how Buttercup felt in the movie:
That day, she was amazed to discover that when he was saying "As you wish," what he meant was "I love you".
What else could she do, in the face of this revelation, other than kiss him?
I have a very high fondness for an El who can speak and has learned to communicate with somewhat more clarity, but still doesn't talk much. El who still silently requests stuff, she still listens to people talking while looking at them with her full attention, even though she's not saying "yeah" or "uh-huh" the entire way through. El who doesn't tell jokes, but she laughs at them just the same, and she plays pranks with and without her powers. Whenever possible, she reaches out instead of calling out. El who asks questions with her face most of the time, and she doesn't mask her expressions to be more palatable. If and when she talks, she is still direct, not mincing words, but she's more comfortable using her powers and actions to get her points across (to great effectiveness) first.
idk I just like the idea of El not being forced to talk. Only speaking in her own terms.
