Between an E/riel making a fanart of Lucien h*nging himself this week and a big creator theorizing that Lucien was the one who made the impenetrable shield that locked Feyre in the manor instead of Tamlin and Tamlin defenders being perfectly fine with villainizing Lucien to absolve Tamlin of a bad action he canonically did. I’m so over subsections of the fandom this week.

I'm so irritated because what do you mean some Elriel creator on tiktok is talking about how Lucien stans hate Elain and how they only care about him and baby him and she is the same person who said Gwyn a rape survivor is using her alleged powers to lure azriel in some form because the idea of Azriel himself naturally being enamoured with Gwyn is impossible and unjust.

Don't get me wrong men always have a portion of fans who are annoying asf and Luciens not the exception except your trying to stans up for a female character getting hate because of a ship but in the same breath spread 10x worse propaganda against another female character because of a ship.

Saw another post today so I thought I would just scream into the void..... The characters of ACOTAR are created by SJM so anything SJM writes LITERALLY CAN NOT BE OUT OF CHARACTER. K? Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I was rewatching my favorite period piece the mini series North & South (2004) and I couldn't help but notice some Elucien in the main couple. They aren't exactly the same in personality with Elucien as the male lead John Thornton is stern and has a temper, but the yearning and angst is there. Also it's mentioned that all the young ladies of the town are after John and multiple characters comment on how beautiful Margret is.

The first time they meet it's not the ideal situation. Margret has gone to John's mill in order to talk to this Mr. Thornton that has sent rude people to help her and her father find lodgings in this new town they have moved to. She's told to stay in the office as they look for Mr. Thornton for her but she ends up on the factory floor. And unfortunately at that moment Mr. Thornton starts chasing down one of his workers who is about to light a pipe inside a cotton mill who was told before not to do that. He beats up the man and Margret tries intervening. He sees her and yells "Get this woman out of here!"

They meet later once again when John comes to her house to have lessons with her father (idk if they are already friends but they certainly become friends later). John apologizes for what she witnessed, which she's like "you beat up one your workers, what is wrong with you." And he says, "I warned him before to not

light a pipe in the factory. I have seen what it's like when a cotton mill goes up in flames."

By the third meeting he does check her out a little. Throughout the series they have moments where they clearly like eachother/have feelings but the fact that she is used to the customs of the South of Britain and he is used to the customs of the North of Britain, the strikes of the industrial revolution, and him thinking she has a lot of male admirers comes between them. But John is sure of his feelings towards her but he thinks that she would never have him. He does propose after she tried to save him from a riot and his mom and the servants were saying it's clear that she likes you based on how she was behaving. When he goes to propose to her she says no because she thinks it's out of pity for what happened. John basically says, "It's not about your reputation or that I want to possess you, it's because I have feelings for you."

After she turns him down, he still continues to look after her and defends her when people say rude things about her. Margret also does this. When some of her acquaintances say rude things about his character she corrects them and says good things about him. Very "His name is Lucien."

Eventually Margret's parents both die, first her mom then her dad follows not long after. She's taken in by an Aunt who lives in London. When she is leaving after saying good bye to John, his mom, and his sister, he stand watching the carriage leave and he says, "Look back...Look back at me." THE YEARNING.

Margret ends up owning the property where the mill sits because her godfather was the one who owned it and he gave all his assets to her because he was dying. The Thornton mill has to close because they ran into financial problems and so Margret has to find a new tenet but instead she decides to give a proposal to John. She'll give him money that her godfather won through speculation and honestly I don't know the rest of her offer because John just kisses her because he's been looking for her after finding out that the man that he saw with her at the train station late at night was her brother. And her brother was sneaking in a and out of the country because he's wanted but he needed to visit their mom before she died.

I did see someone draw Nessian in some of the scene from this miniseries which works too but I can't help but see Elucien. Also yes partly why I made this post was to gush about this mini series.
