Babe it’s fiction 💀 we’re allowed to like/dislike who we want, but when you show up in Elriel-pro posts just to wallow in self pity, it’s so embarrassing for you to have to harass Elriel creators just to regurgitate something we’ve seen before - come up with something new, seriously. Elriel is not real (since I have to clarify so they don’t say “haha she admitted they’re not endgame”, I mean REAL LIFE), it’s not going to hurt you.

Before I get hateful/offended anon messages, if you haven’t done this, then it’s not about you.

Something lovely about in a time of despair Feyre bought her sister flower seeds and Elain planted and cared for those seeds so even in the roughest time of their lives they had flowers to look on. I know some people complain that Elain didn't plant vegetables but I believe SJM clarified the soil wasn't right and that Elain didn't have the knowledge, but she persisted to ensure her family at least had something beautiful to look at and raise their spirits 🌷🪻🌻

And then she also bought Feyre paint so she could do what she loved and she made their cottage beautiful. Both of them made a hovel a home and I think that's a testament to the kindness and strength of both women and their bond as sisters 💕

Im someone who’s dealt with a lot of misogyny specifically because I dress, act and speak in a more “feminine way”. As a girl I was constantly shamed for this part of myself and took a really long time for me to unlearn that shame. Now that im older it really hurts to see people treating Elain in a similar way. Just because a woman has traits that you deem “feminine” ( a love of pink, a shyer personality way a lot of people, a love of gardening and flowers whatever) doesn’t mean she isn’t worth of your respect. A lot of you never grew out of your “not like other girls” phase and it’s really sad to see

Elucien Week Day 3: Peak Yearning

I originally had planned to turn this into a longer fic with more detail and nuance, but I clearly lack the conviction to complete a fix on time 😅

So, I turned the overall concept into a poem instead! It's my first in a long time, but hopefully it's not as rusty as I think it is.

Detail below the cut!

This is an acrostic poem. I feel like the form is underappreciated or relegated to the territory of middle school English classes. But they can be fun and require putting intention into word choice and line breaks.

The acrostic is "Peak Yearning", plus an "SH" as a sort of signature line!
